[Ryou already knew he wasn't home, and honestly...he was just accepting things as they came right now. He'd made some good friends at Domino High, but he was used to losing friends. At least he knew that they were safe now. And it's not as if the memories were bad. Yugi-tachi had done so much for him, and if it hadn't been for them he would still be wearing the Ring right now. Of course that same Ring was still tucked away in his bag, because he couldn't just leave it...it had sentimental value!

It was sort of like a friend to him; a treasure that always stayed with him when he moved from school to school. He'd really been hoping to stay at Domino after all this, but... It was fine, he was stuck here now so there was no use reminiscing. He'd just have to take things as they came like he always did.

But, ah...

Ryou could feel his eyes stinging, and he wiped them fervently into the palms of his hands. It only lasts a moment and then he's smiling sadly like always.]

[Yugi had spotted the familiar hair from down the hall, but once he got close the differences had been immediate. Not even the lack of scar so much as the completely different eye color, and it occurs to him this is another Bakura; geeze, how many copies was this place going to pull?

He notices the wiping, though, and moves over to address him.]

Bakura-kun, are you okay?

[Ryou startles slightly when he hears a familiar voice, whipping around to get a look at the source.]

...Yugi-kun! [He practically beams, so glad to see not just somebody familiar, but one of his friends. All that desolation he'd been feeling just melts away, for the moment.]

[So this Bakura knows him as well. He declines to mention the "different universe" thing, at least for now.]

...Awhile? [Ryou blinks, bringing a hand up to pick at the side of his face. Usually "awhile" meant at least a few days in tandem, right?] You mean you've been here since yesterday?

[Ryou jolts backward, bringing his hands up.] E-ehh?! But Yugi-kun, I saw you just yesterday!

Like I said, Bakura-kun... time is really weird here. Because...

O-oh...I see... [He settles down, his posture slumping slightly and his voice softer than before.

Hey, Bakura-kun, don't look so sad! Just because I haven't met you yet where I'm from doesn't mean that we can't be friends now! I'd really like to be friends with you!

[He really didn't understand what Yugi was talking about. None of it really added up. How could Yugi have been here a month, why was he talking to him as if there were more than one of him? He couldn't mean the other him, could he?]

Sorry, I'm just...confused. You look just like the Yugi-kun I know, but if you already know another "me"...

That's the other thing about this place... there are, um... "other versions" of us going around. There's a "me" that's from a long time ago here! And the "you" I know is older than I am and remembers an older "me," too.

It's kind of confusing.

[That's kind of a lot to take in, but Ryou doesn't question the information. Yugi wouldn't lie to him, so if he were wrong, then it was somebody else misinforming him.

[He's not sure what he's asking for.] I just want to be me. Please don't see me as a different "me"...

[Yugi doesn't seem to understand either, but he thinks he gets an idea, smiling brightly.]

You're who you are! I'd like to be friends with that person, and I'm not going to treat that person as someone else!

[Ryou visibly relaxes, smiling gratefully at the smaller boy in front of him.]

A little, yeah. I found a dorm for myself and I know where to get food. I haven't learned much else, but I've got the essentials at least.
