A Newcomer's love for the courtyard

[After waking up in the Clinic and reading the whiteboard there, Libero decides to check out his surroundings. This college isn't devoid of life, that's for sure. He can sense a lot of people around, though he's not sure if that's a good sign or a bad sign.

He'll pause at the courtyard doors and open them. This looks deceptively pretty, though he can definitely see himself hanging around here often, and being that he has a funny feeling that he's not going to get out of this place anytime soon, he probably has no choice but to do that. It may be the only place to which he can escape to if the others here bother him too much.

He'll look at the fountain further down the path. Libero rather likes the fountain, if he forgets about the cherub. It's not that it bothers him, he just knows he'll be chuckling at it every time he sees it.

He looks at one of the nearby benches. He wants to explore more but it'd be also nice to soak in the environment of the courtyard. Taking a few moments to think about it, he sits down on the bench, and this is where you will find him. Outside. In the courtyard. Not being an explorer.]

[It's not often that Ryou goes to the courtyard apart from to train. With Jack gone, he's only going there with Henry now. But even he has his limits of how much indoors he can handle. Even with the restrained life he'd led before, he can't claim to have ever spent so much time inside. At home, he would have been walking to school, going out to buy food, sometimes even going to the arcade...

Comparatively, he left the building rarely here. The black-haired stranger is easy to spot in the courtyard, but he doesn't think anything of it. It's not someone he knows, but it's not someone who looks frightening, either. They seem calm, even.

At the presence, something stirs within him and the spirit's awareness heightens, listening. There's no need for him to come out unless he's needed - or finds a reason to interject. But even so, he'd rather curl up there and listen warily than sleep and wake up to find himself minus a host.

Ryou gives the stranger a polite incline of his head.]

Uhm... are you alright? It's kind of cold out here.

[A nod.]

Yes. [He smiles softly] Actually, I rather like the cold. It's comforting.

[fluffydeathdealer]

I see... [Comforting, huh? Maybe he was from a colder climate.] Sorry. I didn't mean to presume. Have you been out here long?

No, actually. I arrived here a little while ago and was exploring my surroundings.

[He smiles.]

And, well, you see where I've ended up.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Ah- I see! I thought I hadn't seen you around before... But I don't know a lot of people here, so I wasn't sure.

[Ryou smiles brightly.]

I'm Ryou Bakura. Welcome to our school!

[He returns the smile.]

There don't seem to be any teachers around, though. It's a little quite odd...

Ah... there aren't any. [He rubs the back of his head awkwardly.] It's really just a school in name only.

[taintedstar]

[He frowns. He thought so.]

I wonder why there are others here... [He shakes his head.] How long have you been here for? I assume for a while?

Uhm... About seven months, if I've been keeping track of days well enough.

[He frowns too, though it's more out of thoughtfulness than actual anger. He hadn't thought it had been so long.]

Kai-kun had already been here for three months before that, so he's the person I know has been here the longest. I don't remember if anyone else was here before him that's still here.

[He tilts his head.] That's still here? What do you mean by that?

Some people seem to have disappeared since then. Kaiba-kun, and Pegasus-san... A few others. I don't know where they went. Maybe they went home, or... maybe something happened to them.

[How strange...]

Maybe we should hope they went home, yes?

Yes... it's probably better to hope that. Sorry. I didn't mean to say something that might worry you.

No, it's alright. I have other things to worry about.

What do the others do here?

Uhm... that really depends on the person. Some people spend time in the arcades or playing games, some people go exploring, some people are trying to find a way out... I know a lot of people here are soldiers, so they spend time training, and some people spend time studying.
