CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[When he'd come across Boone, Vulpes had similar thoughts. He should have learned his lesson from the Burned Man... never assume someone is dead absent seeing the corpse. Cutting heads off are also an excellent way to ensure that someone remains in their grave.]

He was in shockingly good health considering where he was shot. This place... it does strange things to people. Maybe it had a role in his recovery.

[Even after however much time had passed, that wound should have still been affecting him in some way. It's really unbelievable to him without some special intervention.]

Hm. He is a formidable opponent. [And Vulpes is made less for heavy combat and more for spying and treachery. It's difficult for him against a significantly stronger opponent.]

You don't think that nurse could have patched him up, do you?

[She wasn't entirely sure Lisa had the mettle to even do so. The nurse nearly had a heart attack when the pair had gone to her for their injuries. And Boone was worse off.

But now he was back, not injured in the slightest and Vulpes was unarmed. And they were all exposed.]

I know I've been a bit of a lone wolf, but given your information and that our prison has up and vanished on us, it might not be a bad idea to stick together. At least not until Boone is properly dead.

[personal profile] truetocaesar 2013-10-17 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. And now it's too late to ask.

[Plus, someone would have had to help Boone get to her. How many enemies might they have here? He doesn't like not knowing.

It's difficult to argue against Sibyll's logic there. Even if he has no desire to rely on a woman for safety, she admittedly isn't useless and her company could prove valuable.]

Very well. It would be foolish to travel alone given the circumstances.

[Her lips turn back up into their usual smile.]

Glad you see it my way. Have you found somewhere better to stay, or should I keep my fire?

[Given how cool it is, she's debating whether or not to press up against Vulpes for warmth or retreat back to her fire. She finally, reluctantly, goes back to her fire. Usually she could just take shelter in some of the ubiquitous ruins of the Mojave, but that didn't seem to be an option here.]

Micheletto I have located a cave near the edge of the forest which seems like it will provide sufficient cover. We split up for now, but I will return there later. You may join us if you like.

[He can't see why Micheletto would object to one more person's presence, especially if she's an ally of his. Frankly, he'd prefer not to have her left on her own for Boone to find and kill. Or for whatever else could be lurking in these woods to find.]

*bugs Steff to see if it's okay* :D It is~

I did always want to meet the man you consider more trustworthy then me. Not to mention a third pair of eyes to keep watch is always a good thing. So, yes, I'd love to join you both.

[She begins to put out her fire, dismantling the flames with a makeshift fire poker. She keeps a branch as a torch.]

Lead the way, soldier.

[He smiles slightly, and turns to lead Sibyll back toward the edge of the forest where their cave is located.]

If you find him to be... unusual... keep in mind that he's from the year 1500.

[Micheletto is also very pushy. Vulpes inwardly hopes he keeps that to a minimum while Sibyll is around. He would hate to be embarrassed in front of a woman.]

I wonder what it was like that long ago. [She muses as they tromp through the forest and back to the coastline.] Everyone else I've met seems to be within a century of the Great War.

[Well, except for that incarnation of Death. But she wasn't about to go into that meeting.]

[personal profile] truetocaesar 2013-10-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's difficult to imagine. He has told me a few things, but we haven't spoken about it extensively.

[But judging by Micheletto's fancy attire and high ranking position, it's pretty clear that his experience is far from the norm at that time.]

He also has several weapons, so try not to get on his bad side.

[Soon enough they arrive at the cave. Vulpes leads Sibyll inside, and nods to Micheletto when they enter. The fire is still going, fortunately.]

I found Sibyll in the woods and brought her back here. [He doesn't ask if Micheletto minds. He doesn't really care.]
pimpcoat: (i've killed for less)

[Micheletto is sitting by the fire, but gets to his feet with his hand on the hilt of his sword when Vulpes enters with another person. He tilts his head slightly, taking in the woman's appearance. Vulpes has mentioned her before, he's sure.]

Ah... the woman who killed the man who is not dead, si?

[Really, he has no reason to be particularly impressed with either of them, but other than that passing comment he says nothing else. His hand leaves his sword again.]

Hm. Very well. Salve, Sibyll.

[He would have expected Vulpes to ask first, and is mildly irritated that he didn't. Luckily, he isn't really in the mood to argue about it right now.]

[Whoa. Vulpes did not mention that he was buddies with a behemoth. His size is decidedly intimidating, but his clothes on the other hand... She easily stifles any hint of laughter, using her amusement as fuel for a pleasant smile.]

Nice to meet you, too.

[His size makes her cautious and a bit uneasy. It looks like he could strangle her with one hand. And if she remembers anything Vulpes told her, that might be something he would do. Unconsciously she inches a bit behind the Legionary. Consciously, she keeps up a friendly demeanor.]

[personal profile] truetocaesar 2013-10-18 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
She shot him in the stomach. I haven't figured out how he's managed to survive in good health.

[Something strange is going on... as if the building up and disappearing isn't evidence enough of that.]

[Vulpes notices the way Sibyll moves behind him a little, and smirks slightly in response. Micheletto is a bit intimidating, he supposes, though not to someone like Vulpes. He's not much compared to the Legate.]

Another person to help gather food and keep watch would be a good thing, don't you think?
pimpcoat: (how about no)

[personal profile] pimpcoat 2013-10-18 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps next time, take his head. It is difficult to survive such a thing, as we have discussed.

[Micheletto notices the way she hides, too. He isn't too surprised. He's an intimidating man, and he's had many others cowering from him in fear. Vulpes doesn't seem to fear him, but he assumes that's because Vulpes doesn't quite realise how easily Micheletto could break every bone in his body. Vulpes seems to think that his rank back home actually matters, but Micheletto understands that ranks and titles do not protect the body from harm.]

I suppose. What is she good at?

[Micheletto is also of the opinion that women are good for pleasing men and bearing children, and that's about it. He can't quite imagine what this small woman could be good for in a survival situation.]

[personal profile] wildcard_of_the_desert 2013-10-18 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, goddammit. It was going to be like dealing with Otho. Worse, actually. Otho was under strict orders not to lay a finger on her. Still, she wasn't going to take this lying down. Taking a small breath, she steps back out from behind Vulpes to stare the Italian right in the eye. She's still smiling, but her voice has an edge to it.]

I am quite the markswoman, better when I'm not injured. I'm quite used to sleeping outdoors, though I usually stick to hiding out in ruins. I'm also pretty good at getting into places without being noticed. How do you think Vulpes got his ripper back the first time?

[personal profile] truetocaesar 2013-10-18 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Vulpes allows Sibyll to speak for herself, even more amused as she stands up to Micheletto and recites her strengths. Meanwhile, he goes to sit by the fire, hoping to warm up enough that he can stop trying to suppress his shivers. This uniform isn't meant for living in cold conditions such as these.]

She'll be an asset, I'm sure. And if the profligate does show his ugly head again, we'll take it off for him.
