[intercom_voice]

[Whether you're waking up in the clinic just now, or have already done so and are now wandering the halls, a sudden screech of microphone feedback blares over the speakers before fading back out.

A moment later, a woman clears her throat. Her voice is husky and mature, but still feminine, and overall she sounds very authoritative...if not a bit sarcastic.]

Good evening, and welcome to the new school year. I hope your arrival was a pleasant one, last year everybody threw-up from motion sickness, it was quite messy.

[There's a long pause as she seems to think, or perhaps just let any anticipated bustling chatter calm down.] Now, you're all intelligent human beings...for the most part. But I suppose I'll pretend I'm talking to the insipid uneducated masses for a moment; it shouldn't prove too difficult.

[She clears he throat again.] In every hall, you shall find a small intercom. You may use that to ask me any questions after my announcements and "privately" converse. Now, if you head North down one of the halls near the clinic in the Central Wing and keep going, you'll eventually come to either the West or East Dorm Wings, depending on which fork in the road you chose. There you'll find all necessary bunk beds and spare socks.

So, make sure you're all well rested for class in the morning; we wouldn't want to get a failing grade now would we?

[And with that, there's another burst of feedback before her announcement abruptly ends. Anybody who had been wandering the halls will notice a distinct lack of...well, anybody else aside from new arrivals, the Nurse, and the Lunch Lady.

The strange woman over the loudspeakers may have mentioned classes, but the school seemed completely devoid of any teachers to provide those classes. In fact, a lot of things seemed...off.]

Do you know anything about whats goin' on then?

[Crocs contemplating just leaving if this person is as lost as him. No need to stick around with someone who's just as lost as him.]

Given that I woke up in what I can only assume is supposed to be a nurse's office, I would say they want us alive and well for whatever they're going to put us through.

[Not exactly a pleasant thought. Still, there are worse places to wind up imprisoned in. If they are imrprisoned, anyway.]

Like they could kill me anyways! I'm gonna snap these bastards in half!

[Once he finds them. With that Croc starts to wander off. He doesn't want to stick with a loser that has no idea what's going on. Croc was a bit of a hypocrite at times.]

They already caught both of us, so they must already be expecting us to try that.

[Because he absolutely looks like someone who could do that, doesn't he?]

Expectin' or not, nothin' they can do can stop me!

[Croc is not the sharpest tool in the box, but he tries his best. He starts trying to open doors and see whats inside the rooms. Most of them are locked, or empty.]

If you're going to rampage, at least focus it.

[Observe: Alex finds a locked door and rips it off its hinges. Rather than giving up on the empty room beyond the door, he walks right in and proceeds to break down the wall opposite to him.]

I ain't raging!

[He watches him rip the door off, then break the wall down.]

Hmm, you're a lot stronger than ya look.

So they tell me.

[His hands abruptly shift, first into tendrils, then into a pair of huge, heavy, calloused lumps like fleshy tree trunks on the end of his arms. When he swings and smashes them into the wall, it's almost exactly like a wrecking ball crashing through it.]

How much do you want to bet that there's a fence around the building once we get out of here?

If there is one, it won't be there fer long.

[He heads for the next wall and casually smashes at it.]

I don't doubt we could break any fence they out up; I'm just a bit *smash* worried that it might be electrified. *Smash* Or we might be on an island.

[Stuck on an island...they'd do that to him. It'd fit their general methods; if they can't kill him, why not trap him?]

What are you, by the way?

[Croc goes to join in the smashing of walls.]

Like any of that'll stop me!

[He briefly looks over at the other man before continuing on.]

I'm Killer Croc.

[He knows he didn't ask for a name but he's not gonna go and explain himself to someone he doesn't even know.]

[He gives Croc a sidelong look, but decides not to push it. If they're not going to use real names, then that's fine with him.]

They called me "Project ZEUS."

[He kicks down the last of that wall. Sure enough, there's another room behind that; how deep did these things go?]

Ha, What kinda name is that?

[Croc charges the next wall and slams into it.]

It's military.

[He raises an arm to shield his eyes from the debris thrown back from the impact.]

What kind of name is "Killer Croc," anyway?

The kind of name a man has when he can snap crocs in half like twigs.

[He backs up again and hits the wall with his weight a second time. It was enough to give way to the next room.]

One day though, it'll be different. One day everyone will be callin' me King Croc. You'll see.

[1300ft_freefall]

"King Croc," huh? Sounds pretty ambitious.

[He follows Croc into the next room. There has to be an end to all these rooms; buildings don't just go on forever, right? So it's just a question of figuring out where the boundaries of the building are. Alex glances at a spot on the opposite wall well away from Croc.]

You should stand back.

[Without further explanation, he focuses hard, rearranging and concentrating his biomass. To anyone else, it looks like he's having spasms while a network of tendrils flits around him like lightning in a thundercloud. Then, suddenly, his arm explodes into a thick, powerful cable of spiked tendrils that rip a hole clean through the wall...and the next one...and the next... Eventually, he feels what he can only hope is fresh, cool air, and he retracts his extended arm.]

I think we're almost out.

Just you wait an' see. I'll become king, ain't no one gonna stop me. Not even the Bats.

[Croc complies and steps back.]

Huh...

[You don't see something like that everyday. Still Croc is used to seeing the unusual, so really it's not that strange.]

[He raises an eyebrow.]

"Bats?"

[He punches and kicks through the next wall.]

[Croc rolls his eyes.]

Come on, everyone knows of the Batman.

[He shakes his head.]

Can't say I've heard of him.

Lucky you. That bastard gets in the way of everything.

Everything, huh? He wouldn't happen to be with the military, would he?

[Another wall comes crashing down. Almost out...]

[He shakes his head.]

No, he's the type to work alone... or with other Supes.

[He continues to help Alex bust down walls.]

[He raises an eyebrow.]

"Supes?"

Y'know... superheros?

[What did this guy live under a rock?]
