[Do you know what happens when you put a confused Serb Yugoslavian expatriate in the middle of a strange building in a strange place while he's in the possession of his favorite carbine rifle? He skulks through a hallway quietly, looking for a way out.

Niko nears a window with his back to the wall. And off in the distance? That jungle? That sure wasn't Middle Park. Not long before he heard something that sounded like the most fucked up war-zone he's ever been near. More rushing fire, less bullets. So he's just playing it careful until he finds some sort of damned map.

First he finds a soda machine, though. And that soda machine is not a Sprunk soda machine. He ventures closer, pokes it with the gun as if that's going to help anything, and moves to look behind it as if he's searching for the mechanism for a bomb in an obviously fake piece of inexplicable equipment. Surveillance maybe?

He's pretty sure he's not in Liberty State, anymore.]

Oh, here we go. [Traces of his Balkan accent in those sarcastic sounding words he goes back around to the front of the soda machine, not creeping along for the time being and with his rifle lowered at his side. He's ready to hop behind that thing defensively though.]

[He moves to follow them in, more slowly because he's still looking around and calculating ways to get up there.]

I could try to go alone. [They don't really look up to it.] I would guess if people placed mines, it would be in the same way as my homeland.

[Boone glances over at Elle when Niko offers to go alone, rubbing his hands together despite being inside now. He's still cold.]

Don't mind heading out with you. I just... need something warmer to wear.

[Speaking of which, he shrugs off Niko's jacket and holds it out for him.]

Not gonna be much use out there if my hands are shaking.

[Elle is glancing at Boone at the same time, so she ends up catching his eyes, and she can't help but grin.]

There's no reason for you to go alone, [she declares. She sticks her arms straight out at her sides for emphasis, which looks ridiculous, because the sleeves flap dramatically past her hands.] That'd be stupid. What kind of new friends would we be if we let you run off and explore something probably dangerous by yourself?

[Yes, they're all friends now. She's decided. No, the rest of you don't get a choice in the matter.

[And Niko just ends up laughing in his throaty way even before she's done talking.]

Maybe if you flap your arms hard enough like that, then we won't even have to go. You can fly!

[Your new friend is a little bit of a dipshit. But still a dipshit who is willing to pull off his extra layers if he sees someone freezing and giving big chunks of money to people in need. He puts his coat over his arm for now]

[Boone is honestly not surprised that Elle has decided they're all friends now. He offers her a quick, exasperated look.]

Yeah... we're better off checking out the inside first.

[He sure as hell isn't gonna be outside much, that's for sure.]

Better keep an eye on the people, too. Figure out if anyone's gonna cause us trouble down the line.

Everyone can cause you trouble. [Niko doesn't think twice about that. Good intentions, bad intentions. But the point is taken. He props his gun to the side and pulls on his track jacket and then the bomber jacket. He watches them as he straightens his collar.]

[He nods, this time without looking over at Elle. He knows she'll be up for it, and even if she wasn't he could just meet up with Niko again on his own.]

[He finally offers his hand to shake, now that there doesn't seem to be any immediate threat.]
