MINGLE: What's that in the sky? It's a bird, it's a plane--no, it's Malik up to his usual shit.
[For anybody awake mid-afternoon on the 22nd, outside or caring enough to look at their windows, they might notice a blinding light accompanied by the sudden appearance of a God.
It seems to be one hell of an escape attempt, the golden dragon's wings splayed wide as it sent forth a seemingly never ending stream of fire towards the sky. But something stopped it, an invisible wall of sorts, curling those flames back as if hitting the inside of glass dome. The great beast stops after awhile, starts again, and then disappears in the same bright flash from whence it came.
Pinpointing a location is hard, but whoever seems to have brought the creature about appears to have been at the cliff side behind the school. Of course, they were long gone by the time anybody got there... ]
((ooc: so, this is basically a reaction mingle, for anybody who's interested! since the event would be visible to anybody who cared to look. tag around with each other and so on~ Malik, Harriet, and Bakura won't be around the area anymore, but they still might tag around depending, and the odds are greater if it's a post-summoning starter, since they'll be back in the school a little while after.))

He walks right past Henry before pausing, looking back to confirm it's him, and turning away again.]
What a scary look you have on your face, king.
no subject
[Henry's expended his original reserve of anger and fear by this point, and simply leans against a tree, rubbing his face slowly and offering nothing more than that.
Malik could summon Ra. Malik could summon Ra. What did this mean, for them? They had been living amicably for this long, and he'd like to believe it would stay that way -- especially seeing as Harriet was the one who extended the training out to him -- but the memory of seeing Rosenkreuz so horribly burned alive, of feeling that heat even far away as he was, is etched too deeply for him to feel calm about that damn beast.
Hiita is keeping her distance respectfully, with Eria leaning against his side and trying to be comforting.]
no subject
The fact that Henry's stressed is noticeable, however... by the fact that the Charmers aren't pulling their usual tricks.]
Did you see the fireworks? It was quite an interesting show. Even with sunglasses, I felt like I was going to go blind.
no subject
[His voice is almost snapped, causing him to take a slow breath and rub his face again.]
Tell me, at least, that Malik has control of it. Please.
no subject
[Bakura, in turn, sounds irritable... but surprisingly calm. Folding his arms over his chest, he leans against a tree... then sinks down to sit on the ground, letting out a sigh.]
But it's a miracle Malik has control over himself, after that debacle.
no subject
[But Henry already sounds a little more relieved and the Charmers slightly more relaxed. The fact that it can be summoned at all still makes him very unsettled, but at least he knows it won't go on some sort of rampage now.]
no subject
But despite his anger, that other him didn't surface.
[What's he waiting for? A time when they don't expect it? Most likely... If he had the capability to plan like that at all... Which he doesn't doubt, somehow. Even a wild beast could lead one into traps.]
There's too much power in such a fragile person... But he's sane enough, at least.
no subject
[The too much power part, he means. But this... all of this is worrying. Even if Ra failed, the attempt hurt Malik, and now Malik can control that creature without that other side. It bodes anything but well, even if had accepted the inevitability of the two learning somehow.
...inevitability... Certainly, now that Malik knows, Bakura would be interested... wouldn't he? But trying to be taught by someone who hasn't worked with it for extended periods, for those who haven't mastered it...
...Well. It's not ideal. But Harriet already started it. He might as well take responsibility and dive in himself. He had already intended to show Ryou once that mental cloaking was strong enough... all this did was remove that need.]
Bakura. Get your deck and come back here.
no subject
[He starts, sitting up in surprise. What the hell does Henry want with his deck? The thought crosses his mind that he might be trying to get an advantage in case the treaty breaks, but that's easily disregarded. Henry just has to ask Ryou about that. Ryou's the one that made the original Occult Deck after all. Then what does he want?]
No need for that. My deck never leaves my person, Henry.
no subject
no subject
[That surprises him. He didn't expect Henry to volunteer to teach them. Obediently, he closes his eyes, focusing.
Wake up, landlord.
Ryou manifests beside him in spirit form, yawning cutely.]
What's going on...?
no subject
[Henry smiles, even if it's still tinted with his unease, as the Charmers go over to happily greet and hug on Ryou.]
I'll be perfectly honest... I trust you more than I trust Malik, if by the fact that I already have an idea of your insanity. I know you would try to stop Malik if he went crazy with Ra -- you've done it before -- and I know that if he tries to teach you, something could go horribly wrong and end up hurting you and Ryou both.
Harriet already taught Malik. Is it really so strange I'd rather teach you to make sure that you learn it right?
1/2
[Ryou smiles brightly, falling silent to listen to the two of them talk. He can't help feel like he's missing something. Well, he'll just hang around and play with the Charmers until he's needed.
Hee, they're so cute!]
no subject
[Getting up off the ground, he draws their deck from one jeans pocket, and the couple of reserve cards he has from the other one. As he speaks, he idly shuffles the deck in his hand in a restless manner.]
I may be insane by your standards, king, but I'm at least in control of myself. And Malik's a dangerous person to learn anything from. He doesn't have the patience for teaching. ...hell, he barely has the patience for learning.
no subject
[That should be obvious, at least. Henry rests his hand on his own deck, looking between the two thoughtfully.]
You're going to have to trade places between each lesson... but if you both pay full attention, you should be able to understand it.
[Hm... this won't work with just Bakura's deck. Henry taps his, manifesting Lyra and mentally communing with her for a moment. She nods, waves at Ryou, then disappears towards the school.]
Let's start with the most basic lesson. Pick the monsters in your deck that you have the strongest feeling of connection from. I would say "affection," too, but I don't know if that's applicable in your case.
[He may be teasing. It's hard to tell.]
no subject
[Bakura's voice is filled with amusement at that. But it's an interesting request. The ones with the strongest feelings of affection... or the strongest synchronization...
Ryou waves at Lyra, then hovers over Bakura's shoulder curiously as his other self fans the deck out in his hand, feeling the closest ones to his heart.]
Do you need a specific amount?
no subject
As many as you feel have a strong connection to you. We'll slowly whittle the number down one step at a time.
no subject
Diabound Kernel. Dark Necrofear. Seven-Armed Demon. Dark Ruler Ha Des. And the Earl of Demise.]
Ehhh, I've never seen that card before...
Of course you haven't. I never put it into the deck.
And that... That's the one Father gave you, right?
Yeah. That's the one that's been with me for the longest.
[He glances up at Henry.]
Now what?
no subject
[Henry folds his legs underneath him, sitting down on the ground.]
Spread out those five here, between us.
no subject
Bakura nods, sliding the rest of the deck into its custom stack and tucking it into his pocket. Spreading out the five cards (and checking the wind first, to make sure it's not too bad) he sits back, curiously.]
This feels like a séance or something...
no subject
no subject
[Closing his eyes, he lets his mind focus on the cards. To find the weakest one... the one with the least-strong connection. He finds the two strongest easily, disregarding them in favour of feeling out the other three.
The weakest of those three. The one he has the most frail connection to. It's harder to find, even narrowing it down.
Not the Demon.
Then which one?
His finger rests against Ha Des.]
This one.
[Drawing it away from the other, he replaces it in his deck.]
no subject
[The Charmers are watching, quietly and intently, apparently enraptured by this.]
no subject
Again, he ignores the two strongest, removing the Earl and the Demon quite quickly. But those two are harder. His hand hovers over the two, wavering between them for a little time.
His aura flares up suddenly, as one of the cards begins to glow in response. This one has felt oddly close to him since he first received it, though he doesn't know why. He frowns slightly, then reluctantly removes Necrofear, leaving only Diabound behind as his aura fades.]
Done.
no subject
...Interesting. The card that he picked... it's got a strange look about it, and an even stranger feel. Something about it makes him... uneasy. Very uneasy.]
Then the first part is done. Remember that card, but replace it for now. It's Ryou's turn to choose.
