Did anyone order a half-dragon girl with an extra serving of snark?

[Well this certainly was new...

Wandering around the campus after waking up in it's clinic is a young woman, she looks to be around 17-19 years of age and more or less looks super confused about where she is right now. Judging from her wardrobe, she clearly isn't from any kind of modern-esque world either, she's in a blue and white tunic.

This doesn't appear to be any kind of building she's used to and it's structures and such just don't seem at all right.

She rubs slightly at the side of her temple and grumbles a little to herself. Normally if she had woken up in a place she wasn't familiar with it'd had to be the work of a fairy or maybe some other magic user - but what sort of person would bring her to such a weird place as this?]

...What is this place?

[A teenage girl dressed in such odd clothing wasn't hard to spot. She looks like some kind of cosplayer. Maybe a LARPer? Either that, or she's from the far past. Either could be possible. Pondering it for a moment, he approaches.]

Are you lost, miss?

[She dusts her tunic off a little.]

Uhm, You wouldn't have happened to see an old guy wandering around here have you? Long blond braided hair? Kind of wearing the same robes as me but yellow? Or maybe it's more gold? Normally he has a book following behind him.

Sorry. I've never run into anyone that looks like that.

[Wait a minute. Looking a little confused, he asks carefully.]

When you say 'following him', what do you mean...?

Well, he floats... He's magic!

Sort of.

He used to be a dragon.

[fluffydeathdealer]

[A book that used to be a dragon?! He can hardly believe it. Sure, he's met one person who claimed to be a dragon before, but he'd never seen it or anything like that. And admitting to things like magic straight away to a strange speaks volumes of the kind of place she comes from.]

Uhm. Please excuse the question, but are you a roleplayer?

...I don't think so?

[Now who looks confused, whereas you may only be used to this kind of talk during your gaming campaigns, Bakura. Stuff like dragons and magic is a daily occurrence for this half-dragon here.]

[Seeing her confusion, he rubs the back of his head awkwardly.]

Sorry. I've never heard of anything like that outside of a roleplaying game before, so it's a little hard to comprehend. Magic books and dragons... its the type of thing you'd find in a fantasy novel.

[There's no point in hiding it, if she's going to be stuck here. Plus he seems pretty clued in what a dragon actually is, so there shouldn't be a problem should there?]

[The shock on his face can't be faked. She seems serious, so either she's really in the role, or she's actually, seriously, a dragon. Or she's crazy.

He's really not sure. But considering the sort of things that happen here, he'll give her the benefit of the doubt.]

No apology needed! Anyway, I'm only half dragon so I can't really say I'm all dragon to begin with. Sorry to disappoint.

[Most people normally freak out once the word "dragon" is even muttered, but this kid seems totally fine with it.]

It's nice to meet someone who actually isn't scared of dragons though.

Dragons don't really exist in my world, so I've never really met one before coming here. So I don't really have any preconceptions for what they're like. I know they're supposed to be big, and they're revered a lot, but other than that, I don't really know much about them.

But you don't seem like a frightening person. So why would I be scared?

I like you Ryou, you're not at all like most humans near Dragonsbayne.

[She laughs a little.]

As soon as you whip out the whole dragon-form thing that's when they start to panic. I mean sheesh, talk about judging someone before you get to know what they're like.

I think it sounds kind of amazing! And you can't help what you are, anyway. So it's really not fair to judge someone on that.

[Though with a name likes Dragonsbayne, he's not surprised. It doesn't sound like a good place to be a dragon.]

Even if you've had bad experiences with dragons, there's been a lot of humans who did bad things, so it's not like being bad is something related to a particular species.

I guess you're right. Some people are just complete jerks though...then again some dragons can be downright jerkish too so I guess it applies both ways.

[She cracks a grin and places her hands on her sides.]

So what are we supposed to do in a place like this? I mean if we're stuck here, doesn't it get a little boring after a while?

[Rubbing the back of his head awkwardly, he smiles in response to her grin.]

It's not so boring to me, since I play a lot of games with my friends. I never get bored here because my friends are here too! But... if you're used to roaming around, or being really active, it can get a bit restricting. The island's not really very big, and everyone living in the same general area means that you're usually running into people you know a lot.

But you're really just left to your own devices by whoever's in charge of this place. They don't force you to do anything, though they'll sometimes do really weird stuff to you for no real reason.

...Ryou, has anyone ever seen who's in charge of this place?

...no. We've heard her voice over the intercom, but we've never seen her.

So there's no indication as to what she looks like or where we can even find her?

Un. Even my Ring can't find her. It's like there's some magic protecting her.

My father gave me an artifact he bought in Egypt. It's able to track things within a certain range and direct me along the best path to get to them. But it's thrown off entirely by her and anything she 'borrows', so it's not much use here.

[She sighs and looks to the floor.] I'm sure if Uncle Glad was here he'd know exactly what to do...

Until the head of this place shows herself then I guess we're stuck.

It's not so bad. I've been here a few months now. It's kind of peaceful, like going on a really long vacation.

You mentioned games earlier. What kind of games do you play?

I really like board games! My roommate's got a lot of video games, which are kind of fun, but they're not as fun as playing games with your friends. My favourite's Monster World, but Yugi-kun and I have been collecting games we've found in the north wing.
