Because there weren't enough dragons here yet.
[There's a shadow passing over the campus today. It's not a bird, nor a plane, nor Superman (which is good, because he's a jerk). Instead, it's a very familiar large, white-scaled dragon that, for some reason, seemed to find the skyways of the Campus a good place to be.
Of course, anyone who watches it can see it might not have entirely been the dragon's decision. From the way it's wobbling in the air, it appears to be hurt -- which is only reinforced as the beast's wings finally crumple, sending it crashing somewhere in the forest.
In the forest, there's a long path of crushed trees and vegetation, with what looks and smells strongly of blood along it...]

She shifts to wrap her arms around his neck, just tight enough to hang on so she didn't irritate him too much.]
Thanks.

An odd rush of exhileration rises within his chest. How utterly fun!]
Heheh. Don't mention it.
[His own leg injury doesn't slow him down even a little bit. Within just a few moments, the open area made by the fallen trees narrows into its usual corridor of overhanging branches. The sunlight shimmers scattered brightness over the land beneath the trees.]
Where were you before this?
no subject
[The gentleness and the mask have her fooled completely, and she's leaning some on him for comfort's sake.]
Sorry. I guess I did hit my head.
no subject
It'll come back to you. Memories usually do, with time.
no subject
[Right now, though, she really wants to get this wound cleaned out and something to eat. It's a miracle her stomach isn't snarling loud enough to alert the entire Campus.]
no subject
You can see the building now. We're nearly there.
[Sure enough, looming through the trees is the sight of cold walls and wide windows.]
no subject
Thank god...
[They could not be there soon enough, really. She may be one of the few people actually grateful to see the place.]

Pick a direction, left or right. There's rooms in each.
no subject
[He wouldn't have told her if there was a girls' side, probably... right?]
no subject
He carries her to the Eastern Dormitories without another word, checking the ones there for signs of being lived in until he found one that was empty. ...it was a little hard with her in his arms, but he was nothing if not versatile.]
...this one seems to be free. Hold on.
[Just gonna set her down on the couch for a moment to check the drawers. There, nobody living there.]
no subject
That's good, then... I kind of prefer not having roommates anyway.
[Just... gonna sit here for a minute or two before asking about the showers. Don't go anywhere, will you?]
no subject
[He asks it casually, sitting on the dresser and watching her as she takes her moment of rose.]
no subject
[Phoo... that's better. Okay, time to get up.]
Where's... the shower?
no subject
[He points towards the other door.]
The bathroom's adjoined to the room. Think of it like an apartment; kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. So no shared showers, thankfully. Just take a chair in with you if standing's going to be difficult.
no subject
[She will, in fact, be taking a chair in there! It takes about an hour, but she eventually does come out mostly dry but for damp hair and her side at least somewhat competently bandaged. Someone left a first aid kit in there and hot damn did she intend to use it.
Of course that means she comes out in a towel...]

His hands were stained red.
The blood from her wound had seeped through the thin coat to slowly cover his hands. Something in his eyes flickered at the sight, a familiar pleasure rising within him. Raising his hand to his mouth, he drew his tongue along the length of one of his fingers.
The taste hit his senses with as much force as a car crashing into a tree. Compared to the simple copperish taste of human blood, it held a sharpness to it that flooded his mind with the taste, briefly overwhelming his senses.]
This is-!
[Fascinating. It wasn't so much different to human blood as it was stronger. To compare, it was like the difference between an unsweetened tea and one that had been given honey. In a way it could be considered ambrosia.
By the time she came out, his hands were as clean as could be. He had let the tap run briefly to hide it, before turning it off and waiting for her.]
You look much better.
no subject
[The wound is certainly still bleeding, though Bakura can't see it through the towel. She's holding it around herself, even though he HAS seen her naked, and just settling back down on the couch for now. It... is probably going to be tough to handle for a while, but at least the medical attention makes it possible to move.]
Ah... I don't suppose there's anywhere to get clothes, is there?
no subject
Once they realize you've chosen this room, it'll usually bring them in somehow.
[He checks the drawers he's sitting on, drawing them open with his feet until-]
See?
no subject
So they just... saw the future or something and stocked this place with clothes for me? Or did this just... appear?
no subject
[He pats the dresser with one hand, in much the same way his past self would have.]
They won't disappear from what I've seen.
no subject
There. That's better.]
Where do you stay?
no subject
You're still bleeding. Sure you don't need stitches?
no subject
...I probably do, but I have no idea how to actually stitch up myself.

[Ug, but that no anesthetic is even worse, even if she does need it. She can't believe she's asking this, but...]
Could you... find some elsewhere? Or even just... take some of hers.
