[Event] It couldn't last forever.
[The lights going out had certainly surprised Henry, but he had been prepared for such a thing. He didn't fully understand the "electricity" that this place seemed to have, and thus, lacking that understanding, he had decided to prepare in case it disappeared.
Just like it had now.
Candles in that old-style holder and lit, Henry at least had some visibility despite the pressing darkness. Making sure to store away the others (at least after making sure Eleanor and Jack had ones themselves) he's started off into the Campus, looking for anyone lost in this darkness to help them find their way back to their dorms, or wherever else it was they wanted to go.]

Are you all right? What happened?
[He registers that last part a bit late, then chuckles.]
I had to practice to be able to fully draw the Charmers' spirits to me like the rest of my creatures, but they're already being a great help and interesting friends to have around.

I wasn't expecting that, so I fell... but my hands are still burnt, so when I caught myself, it hurt. That's all...
[It's an understatement, that it hurt. The reason his arms are shaking is just from the effort and pain of supporting him when he fell. Still, he manages to sit for a moment. His fingers are twitching a little from the pain, but that's about it.]
The only thing I've ever seen close to that is all done by technology. But it's just holograms.

Hold out your hand, Ryou.

[He does so obediently, though he doesn't know what Henry is doing. He trusts him not to do anything bad. Moving his arm is kind of painful by now, the burns having dried out under the bandages, so he hopes Henry won't think too poorly of him for not holding out too far. It should be far enough.]
What is it?
no subject
There. That should at least have taken care of the more mild of them.
no subject
Thank you, Henry! That feels better...
[Even if he still can't bend his fingers, that relief is worthwhile. ]
I left my painkillers in the dormitory. Silly, huh?
no subject
...How do they feel? Your wounds? Are they still there?
no subject
U-un. I'm not sure... I think they're all still there. It feels like they healed a little, and the pain went away, but I think even the ones on my fingers are still there. I can feel them when I try to move.
You can check if you like...
no subject
I would like to check, please. To either confirm or ease my fears.

[Rolling up his sleeve, he obediently unpeels the bandages over the fingers on the hand he'd held out, carrying on to reveal the larger one on his forearm. The cold air is biting, but though the wounds are at least visibly better than they were before, they're still just as deep and blistering as ever. The worst parts of them are a dull, uncaring white, as if the colour has been seared away from them. They stand out against the angry red of the rest as if the very skin has been poisoned.
The ones that are capable of healing have simply been accelerated by a few days.]
Do you... need to see the rest?
no subject
No, that's... quite all right, thank you.
[Henry's expression is a mix of surprise and utter fear. How? What wounds could be so bad that a spell that strong is just... shrugged off as a painkiller?]
no subject
Are you alright...? You look like you've seen a ghost.
no subject
That it barely had an effect is... frightening. It means those wounds are not ordinary.
1/2
[The pain had been pretty severe, but he hadn't even thought of the reasons behind them. Jack's hand rests on his uninjured shoulder for a moment, grounding him, before the other man goes to Henry's side.]
2/2
[Jack's hand grasps Henry's arm to help him up and keep him steady.]

[Henry takes a slow breath, rubbing his face.]
Regardless of its actual divinity, that "Ra." If wounds inflicted by it are so unnatural that our magic can't heal them, it can very well be considered a "God" of sorts.
We are... in far worse a position than I thought.

Perhaps there is a way to enforce a limiter on his summoning abilities. I'll look it up.
[Though his voice is outwardly calm, inwardly he's flooded with concern. That option was only a 'perhaps'. A creature that powerful... It's chilling to the bone.]
no subject
[He glances over, giving Ryou as gentle a smile as he can manage.]
no subject
[He's just going to go get this fire finally set up.]

His hands go to his deck, and for the first time in a while, he pulls a paper card out to gently fidget with it. The Dark Magician... the monster that's been with him his entire life, the first creature he had, the one that came to him unbidden...
He seems to be lost in his own world as the two work around him.]
