EGYPTIAN WHEELIES

[Malik had found something while looking through the East Wing. Just what that "something" was becomes apparent when an engine roars to life, and the skid of tires on tiled flooring echoes through the halls.

Sure...sure, he could just walk his new bike outside...but where was the fun in that?! This wasn't an ATV, and it likely wasn't going to fair well in the spotty terrain outdoors...

So he's just going to take a few smooth-riding laps in the halls before he goes to test it outside.

When somebody gets in his way, he rears the bike back onto one wheel, skidding a few feet on the floor before the front tire slams back down and he comes to a stop.]

What, are you trying to get yourself killed?

[Well now. This is familiar. Except back then it was just a narrow alleyway and not the indoors of a school. Standing in front of him, arms spread carelessly in a 'stop' gesture, he flashes Malik a wicked grin.]

[In one fluid motion, Malik knocks back the kick-stand and swings one leg over his bike so he can casually lean against it.]

You say that like it was a long time ago. [He can't wipe the pleased look off his face; Malik is so antsy with excitement that even his fingers are tapping impatiently on the shiny painted metal.]

A month or so isn't too long, but it feels longer. I guess it felt longer for you too, considering how excited you seem.

The bike and I both would have been damaged to some degree, but it would have flipped over and you would have crashed shortly after the impact. With the helmet and your current speed, the damage to you would have not been fatal or crippling, most likely.

Assuming I could not get out of the way fast enough, that is.

Because I haven't taken it outside yet.

[Malik simply turns the engine off now. He figures he'll be here a little, and he's not about to waste the only tank of gas he has. ....Anymore, at least.]

It's a good thing, I agree. My self-repair could have taken care of myself, but humans aren't so easily repaired.

[And he's already got some other things to do to get repairs from Kaiba; having his self-repair fail and ending up with a malfunctioning arm because of the crash would have just been horrible.]
