EGYPTIAN WHEELIES
[Malik had found something while looking through the East Wing. Just what that "something" was becomes apparent when an engine roars to life, and the skid of tires on tiled flooring echoes through the halls.
Sure...sure, he could just walk his new bike outside...but where was the fun in that?! This wasn't an ATV, and it likely wasn't going to fair well in the spotty terrain outdoors...
So he's just going to take a few smooth-riding laps in the halls before he goes to test it outside.
When somebody gets in his way, he rears the bike back onto one wheel, skidding a few feet on the floor before the front tire slams back down and he comes to a stop.]
What, are you trying to get yourself killed?

I'm used to waiting...I've waited for five years, after all. But I do get impatient.
[He gestures for Bakura to come over.]
no subject
What? You? I'd never have believed it!
[The sarcasm in his voice was so thick you couldn't poke it even if it were solid.]
no subject
[He grabs a spare helmet and drops it over Bakura's head.]
Keh keh... Want to go for a ride?
no subject
[...uh. This feels kind of weird. He lifts a hand, tapping at the weird material curiously. It makes a weird sound.]
You serious?! ...can you drive this thing with both of us?
no subject
As long as you hold on and don't move around too much...yes.
no subject
[This really does feel weird, Malik. He's never worn anything like this before.
Safety gear is for losers and nerds of the non-card-playing type.]Fine, then. I'm not afraid of this thing.
[And his arms are healing way faster than the rest of him, so it's not like it'll be too awkward.]
no subject
[Malik swings his leg back over and puts his helmet on before gripping the handlebars. Just behind him, there was enough room for another person to sit.]
Come on~
no subject
[If he hesitates, Malik will probably laugh, so he just climbs on behind him awkwardly. How is he even meant to hold on? Malik didn't say what he'd need to hold on to.
He guesses he's meant to just wrap his arms around Malik's chest.]
Like this?
no subject
[Malik starts the engine and then kicks the stand back in, the motorbike starting off slow and then working up to a decent 25 mph down the hall. He wasn't going too fast now, because he didn't plan on running laps any more; Malik was going to take them outside.]

[Despite the sharpness of his words, Bakura's less concerned about touching the ground and more concerned that his hair will snag in something, so before they speed off, he takes a second to tuck his hair over his shoulder. At least his closeness to Malik traps it.
His breath catches in surprise at the bike's movement, feeling oddly like his stomach fell for a moment. His arms tighten just slightly around Malik. It's not out of fear so much as it is of surprise. What the hell is this feeling? Even at this low speed he can tell some of what Malik likes so much; there really s a feeling of power in this thing.]

Once the two of them are are nearing the door, Malik speaks up again as he continues to drive them carelessly right for it.]
Summon something to open the door, would you?
no subject
DIABOUND! SPIRAL WAVE!
[The blast seems to hit the doors with a violent force, blowing it open hard enough for the doors to fly off and land on the ground. The summon disappears, leaving the doorway open.]
no subject
He turns them off to the right, rounding around the back of the school before heading north along the grassy cliff edge.]

This entire thing is new to him. It could even be called unique. Malik's comparison wasn't too inaccurate; it felt somewhat similar to a horse, save for that powerful thrumming beneath them that made it clear this was no natural beast he was riding on. It was nowhere near unpleasant.
He rests his head against Malik's back, a smile on his face as he watches the world - or at least the island - go by. His shoulders are shaking with laughter. This really is magnificent!]
Where are we going?
no subject
Not too far...I don't know. I'd circle the island for awhile if I could, but I only have one tank of gas.
[After that was gone, he really wasn't sure what he was going to do. It would be sorely missed...but at least he would had gotten to feel the thrum of an engine under his fingertips again; if only for a little while.]
no subject
[It's a casual admittance of enjoyment, though he doesn't know if Malik will even be able to tell. The dizzying feeling of it all is rather exhilarating and he's actually disappointed that Malik won't be able to refuel.
...he could do without the stupid uncomfortable helmets, though.]

Driving for a few more minutes, Malik is soon forced to a stop as the relatively flat grassland of the cliff gives way to another dense section of jungle. All good things must come to an end, he supposes.
Stopping the bike and turning off the engine, Malik drops the kickstand.]
I guess here will do. [It was nice, actually, a section of land that straddled the sea and the wilderness. With the sun above them it was a bit hot, but nothing that the cool, salty ocean breeze couldn't take care of.]
no subject
Or maybe it was the company. Who knew?]
Oy, oy... It looks like we're on a date, the place you've taken me to.
[Bakura's teasing is a little less barb-like than usual. It's definitely pleasant scenery, that's for sure.]
no subject
Is that really the first thing your mind jumps to? [Malik reaches up, pulling off his helmet and goggles to give his head a shake. His hair fluffs back out, for the most part.]
I just can't go any further with the jungle there! [Reaching down now, he pulls Bakura's arms off of him so he can get off the bike.]
no subject
His hair was limp.
Before answering Malik, he focused a little of his energy into trying to spike it back up again, running his hands through his hair to get rid of the odd impotence of the spikes. What a pain! Helmets were more trouble than they were worth.
The wing-like protrusions of his hair were particularly reluctant to spike back up at first, and at last he gave up on them.]
It was a joke, Malik. Don't worry... I don't expect anything like romance from you.
[His tone is more amused than chiding.]
no subject
Keh, I wouldn't even know what to do on that sort of thing. I've had other things to worry about my whole life.
[With a soft grunt, Malik bends his knees and takes a seat on the ground, his back to the trees and his view to the ocean. In all honesty, before coming here...he can't remember the last time he sat and enjoyed any view at all. He had never had the time.]
no subject
What sort of thing? A date? It's really quite simple, you know.
[Sounding a little instructor-like, he flashes Malik a grin.]
You only need three things. 'A new place', 'food' and 'kissing'.
no subject
...and flipping open a compartment on the rear end of his bike, pulling out some food he'd wrapped up in a plain clothe.]
...And I wasn't even trying.
no subject
You're getting to be a bit of tease, Malik!
no subject
...Oh, and creampuffs.]
Keh keh...I don't know what you're talking about. [He plays innocent, popping a creampuff into his mouth and chewing away.]
