There are some people with no concept of an "indoor voice"

[To say Campus was the worst place ever to Judai would be an understatement. The no-classes thing? That was fantastic! He barely paid attention in class as it was, so not having to go at all felt like the best thing ever at first.

And then he realized the problem. It wasn't just the classes that weren't around.

Nothing ever happened here.

There wasn't any kind of organized events or fun dormmates to talk to or even a speech he could doze off during. Classes had been dull, but at least they had been something. This... utter nothing at all was boring. What kind of school didn't have a specialized dueling area, anyway?! This place sucked!

If there was one thing Judai couldn't really stand, it was being bored.]

GAAAAAAH!

[Which is why he's taking his frustrations out by yelling in the middle of the hallway.]

Doesn't anyone around here actually duel?! Or even play games?!

That'd be great! I've just been eating out of the vending machine for a while now. I can't really cook.

And it is tugging you gently towards the dorms.]

[...Huh? Judai blinks, scratching the back of his head.]

Where are we going?

I'm taking you home with me.

[...wait that sounds malevolent. He flashes a grin over his shoulder.]

And then I'm going to make you a big meal. What's your favourite food?

[...

This? This is the biggest damn grin ever. Oh Ryou, you have just brought yourself home a puppy that will never, ever, leave you.]

Fried shrimp, definitely!

[You're lucky he doesn't know where you live. He might be dragging you there if he did.]

Un! I'll make you the best fried shrimp I can!

[At least it's a cute puppy that won't pee on the carpet!]

[Judai comes housebroken, thankfully, yes! But he's definitely watching where Ryou's leading him, trying to memorize the route so he can get back to Ryou's dorm without any problem. He's definitely going to be taking him up on the food thing! Even eating junk all the time does get boring.]

So hey, Ryou! Who's your roommate?

Ah! That's Malik-kun! I don't really remember his last name, but he's an egyptian guy who's dating the spirit you met. He gets kind of intense, but he's more of a jerk than anything else.

[Quickest summary of that guy ever.]

Actually, it's his duel disk I was using, because mine disappeared shortly after I came here.

[That... what a weird name!]

Eh? Marik?

[That's what Ryou had said, right? ...But he's dating a spirit. Huh. That's kinda interesting.]

What, really?! That bites! I'll help you find it!

"Malik"!

I'd appreciate it! But it's been a while, so it might not turn up again. I'm just glad my cards weren't in it.

Malik! Got it!

[Judai shakes his head, flashing another grin.]

No way! It'll turn up if we both look hard for it! And then you'll get it back and we can duel whenever!

Un! I'll try not to give up on finding it, then!

[He leads Judai to one of the doors, letting go of his arm to unlock the door.]

[By... going over and flumping on his stomach on the couch, leaning over the armrest and grinning over at Ryou.]

It's pretty weird living in a dorm by myself now. I'm too used to Shou and Hayato being around! But at least it means I get my own room for a while.

I'm more used to living alone - or as alone as I can be, with the other me - but I'm getting used to sharing with Malik-kun now. I've always lived alone for a long time, so.

[Checking the food supplies... yes! He has what he needs. He gets straight to work on the food! It seems he's quite serious about feeling Judai.]

You lived alone a lot?

[Judai shifts a little, still looking in Ryou's general direction.]

Un. My father is away a lot, and I don't have any other family any more, so... I was alone for a really long time.

Yeah, I know that feeling. I never learned how to cook, though. Maybe I should have.

Leaving the food to cook, he goes over and sits on the edge of the couch beside him, as best he can. His voice is softly motherly.]

Now, now... It can't be helped, right? I'll teach you to cook if you want, but I'l still cook for you anytime, okay?

[He didn't really get upset or anything, it was more an observation. But he sits up, grinning even more widely at that.]

That'd be great! Both of them, I guess. Though I'll probably stick with you cooking!

[Even so, Ryou feels sorry for him. He grins broadly at the happy response.]

That's fine! But you should still learn, you know? That way if anything happens to me, you'll be able to eat healthily sometimes.

Eh? What makes you think something's going to happen to you?

...stuff happens to me a lot.

[He awkwardly shows off the scars on his hands from Ra.]

[...Eeesh. Those look bad. Judai eyes them for a minute, then just shakes his head and looks surprisingly intensely at Ryou.]

Well, don't worry about it! If that starts happening again, just come get me and I'll help you out! That way, there's no way something that bad could happen!

Eh?! But, if that happens then you might get hurt too! So I can't involve you in things like that!

[That intense look... It's so determined. Even a little fierce-looking.]

Don't worry about it! I'll be fine! I get out of stuff like that all the time, no problem!
