Duel 002: Peaceful Days! The Fluffiest Training Montage Commences

[It's a bit of a pain, being in a school with no teachers.

Ryou Bakura isn't the type of kid who really likes being too active; he's about on the level of most ordinary teenagers. But after being laid up for so long with the burns to his arms and leg, not only is he extremely restless, but he's sure even his metabolism won't hold up much longer, with the amount he eats. That's why, after checking to see that Henry isn't home to take him up on that training offer, he's decided to try treating this like school and taking an hour or so to do his very own gym class, all by himself. It'd be easier with teachers, but... he doesn't have a choice right now.

Most kids probably would just take the break and be lazy, but right now, Ryou's working hard. Apart from the occasional break, he can be found pretty easily in the east wing, dressed in gym clothes and doing everything from running laps on the track field to climbing ropes.

...though that last one is more like 'falling off ropes'. Stupid mats... they don't cushion that fall at all. Hopefully nobody's dumb enough to stand below him.]

Ow...

[Time for a banana and some water, he thinks.]

Ah, I'm so tired...

[Ryou collapses onto the mats with a sigh. His body feels like it's been put through a very intensive Rocky montage.]

[Ow, ow, everything hurts and Yugi just kind of collapses next to Ryou, face in the mat.

...he's too tired to roll over.]

Ugh... [His everything hurts.

Goddammit.

He just wants to go to sleep right here.]

My body was not ready.

Mine wasn't either...

[If you wanted to go to sleep right there he would be right behind you, because oh god ow, how do some other people do this.]

It seems we've been defeated by the gym.

[Sagely nodding, he closes his eyes and draws in a slow sigh.]

Yeah... ow...

[After a few moments, Yugi manages to gingerly push himself up, whining a little in pain.]

Come on... let's get clean and changed...

[He just kinda hopes there's clothing in there for him to change INTO. Otherwise, he might have to ask Ryou to go swing by his dorm.]

Un. That sounds like a plan...

[He winces, pushing himself up off the ground. As he does, he glances at the scars on his arms with a frown. He needs to get gym clothes that cover them.]

Ah, I'm stiff... C'mon.

[awishforfriends]

[Yugi's eyes drift over the scars, then away politely. He's burning to ask, but he knows the feeling of not wanting to bother someone with it.]

Right.

[Up he goes, just as stiffly, the Puzzle almost feeling like a painful presence now.]

Ow ow ow... I'm so sore already...

[He notices that look, and smiles a little.]

I shouldn't show these off so much. Sorry. Do they bother you?

No! Well... not in the way you think. Seeing that Bakura-kun is hurt makes me a little sad, because you're my friend and I don't want you to be hurt. But I know that Jounouchi-kun and others feel the same about me. So... I try to hide when I get hurt too so my friends don't worry.

They don't bother me to see them. Because if Bakura-kun is working out, that means they're healing! So that means you're getting better, right?

[Awww, Yugi... you're so nice.]

Un! I'm a lot better. Most of these burns are healed pretty well. Truthfully, they're a lot of the reason I wanted to try to exercise today. I was getting sick of not being able to move around freely, so I had to burn off that energy.

[It is Yugi.]

I see... well, then! Maybe we could try to do a little bit each day instead of doing a lot like we did today? Then we can both move around but without getting hurt!

Un. I think that's for the best! Then we'll get a lot stronger and be able to do more later on.

[Showers, showers, oh dear god the shower is going to feel so good...]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[The showers are warm and comfortable, though Ryou can't stay in them long with his wounds. So as fast as he can, he gets clean, dry and dressed.]

[Yugi is in them for a good deal longer, trying to wash out that soreness in the hot water. Finally, he does come out, his hair laying flat and almost giving him the look of a girl as he peers at the lockers.]

Ah, Bakura-kun? Do any of these generate clothes?

[fluffydeathdealer]

I'm not sure... I found my gym clothes in one of them, and some of them have swimwear, so probably. Want me to check?

[awishforfriends]

Can you, please?

[He's still trying to dry his hair off, but much like Bakura, there's a lot of hair to dry.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[And it's so fluffy and spiky too... How cute! He nods, checking the lockers for something that'll fit. Hm...]

Hey, Yugi-kun, what size do you wear?

[awishforfriends]

[His hair may not be as soft as yours, but it's definitely got its own level of fluffy!]

Um...

[After a moment of embarrassment, he mumbles out the small size, glaring a bit at his feet.]

[Eh, Yugi-kun is that small?!]

...ah, I think this is the closest they've got.

[DON'T SAY IT. He's already got enough people treating him like a kid, he doesn't need you too!]

[Just. Going off to change in shame.]

[He isn't going to point it out. Teasing Yugi is the farthest thing from his mind. Once Yugi's done changing, he flashes him a tired smile.]

I don't think it's a good idea to invite you home. It's a little dangerous there. But if you want, we could find somewhere safe to go rest and play a board game or something.

[Dangerous? He almost asks, but then just smiles back.]

You could come home with me. I don't think Pegasus-san is around anyway, and we've got a lot of board games there.
