Check one angel and boy.

[There's a new face wandering confusedly around Campus today! It's a young boy who's age is hard to tell -- likely somewhere between 14 and 17 -- who's dressed in some kind of weird medieval hoodie and pants with rather thick, metal-plated boots. The bag slung on his back is definitely big enough that he must be hauling a bunch of stuff, while the sword tied to the top of it has an odd sheath that's almost too ordinary.

Whoever he is, he appears to be completely lost, occasionally peering out of windows or looking into doors, as if he's trying to find someone or something. He looks almost terrified of any actual technology that he stumbles across and sometimes just stops in the middle of the hall to tilt his head, as if he's listening to some far-off voice.

For anyone with a high magical or spiritual sense, the boy is absolutely radiating a holy, angelic aura, to the point that it's almost visible. For everyone else, he seems completely normal, if with an odd, comforting aura instead.]

[That's adorable... He grins a little at the sight as he sets to work. Soon enough, delicious smells fill the apartment as he cooks.

A little while later, the coffee table beside the couch is laid out with plates of surprisingly prettily prepared food. All the staples are there. Meat, fish, rice, vegetables... and he's made tea for them, too.]

[The couch is really way too comfortable, and he's almost tempted to just curl up and go to sleep here for a while. It would certainly help in getting both of their energy back up, if nothing else, and it's been a while since he slept in comfort.

He decides to go with that first one only, so by the time Ryou comes back, he's snuggled up to a pillow and looking quite relaxed. The food definitely gets his attention, though, and he rolls to sit up properly and eye it in shock. Wow... he's never seen some of the things on the plates here!

He gives a curious look to Ryou, tilting his head some. Are you some sort of master chef, man?!

...Well, he said it was okay. Hopefully, though, Ryou isn't too bothered by a lack of manners, because Zero is eating like he was raised by wolves.

...Oh, right!

Rufael... time to wake up!]

You certainly have a flair for presentation, Ryou. I'm impressed.

It's a uniquely eastern thing, so I've heard, but food's supposed to be a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Just because it has to be eaten, doesn't mean it can't be good to look at, right?

[He smiles, sitting beside Zero and not minding his lack of manners at all. Considering his own eating habits, it's probably for the best.]

I certainly can't argue that one. Putting such pride in what you do is admirable.

[Thankfully, once the first plate or so is down in Zero's stomach, he slows down to a decent speed, and at least seems considerate enough to try to avoid spilling anything. After the first couple of plates are shoveled, he does slow down some, carefully sipping the tea curiously.

...And from the look on his face, he really likes it.]

Ehe... Thanks, but I enjoy cooking, so it's not difficult at all.

[Wow, he really must have been hungry. Well, at least he's eating. That's something.]

No less admirable, Ryou. At least, not as far as I am concerned.

[He nods in agreement, taking another drink of the tea. Mmmm!]

Were there other things you wanted to ask?

[Ask him to turn off the fucking radiance, the spirit grumbles inside his head, and Ryou has to stifle a giggle.]

Right. I was wondering if you were from the same world as me or not. Zero-kun's being a white mage and your presence makes me think not, but you knew Amane-chan's name, so I can't be sure.

[There was that pesky feeling again. What was that?]

No, I am not. There was nothing like the level of things here in the world we come from, but Heaven is both a singular place while having multiple instances. All those who are virtuous and believe in God go to the heaven in their world, but God knows all and all names are recorded in the Book.

I would never meet your family, being from different worlds as we are, but their names are down in every Book so it's known they are there.

That's kind of amazing... And it must be really complicated. I guess a human like me would never understand it.

[That feeling was growing a little stronger. Bakura was not happy with this conversation at all.

Thoughtlessly, Ryou leant over.]

Zero-kun, don't mind me...

[Gathering Zero's hair back, he tugs a brush out from a bag at the side of the couch and begins to brush it gently, yet firmly. If he's just come out from a battle, like the angel said, his hair is probably tangled to hell and that's never comfortable.]

[Rufael frowns a little, though it still doesn't show on Zero's face, feeling a little agitated. He's feeling on guard now; such a dark presence was never a good sign.]

Well, it's all right.There are things humans can never understand, but there are some things even we angels struggle to understand at times.

[Zero blinks a little in surprise as Ryou starts trying to groom out his hair, but doesn't seem to really mind all that much. "Tangled to hell" is certainly right, but at least some of the tangles are from dried blood sticking the hair together uncomfortably. It's a little hard to see on his hair, but once the other boy gets going, it's definitely hard NOT to feel.]

Hm... Zero-kun, do you want to wash this out?

[He can hear that odd note in Rufael's voice. What could it mean?]

Are you alright, Rufael-san?

[He nods a little bit at the question, moving a hand up to fiddle with his hair somewhat embarrassedly.]

There appears to be a very dark presence somewhere nearby. I am... having trouble attempting to determine its source and it worries me quite intensely. Such an evil feeling cannot belong to anything good.

Un. He can feel you too. He says you need to turn down the radiance.

[The matter of fact answer comes with a hand on the Ring, lifting it up for Rufael to see.]

I can help if you want, Zero-kun. If not, feel free to use the bathroom to wash the blood out on your own.

[Rufael immediately bristles the moment Zero's eyes turn to look at it. That thing... how had it slipped by his notice for so long? He must be more tired than he thought, if that was the case. And with that in mind, it would hardly be fitting to pick a fight...

But that doesn't mean he has to take it lying down. He subtly increases the strength of his aura, giving an incorporeal glare at the object.]

What is that? I can feel nothing but evil from it, screams of terrible magic...

I don't know all the details... But-

[A growl inside of his mind and the Ring glows brilliantly, blindingly.]

Oy, bastard! Watch where you're shining the fucking holy light, already!

[The sudden harshness of his voice is the first clue. The flared up spikes, almost like batwings, is the second. The change in attitude is the third, as he lounges back on the couch, carelessly toying with the hairbrush.

The biggest is probably the aura of darkness emanating from him.]

[Zero immediately jumps to his feet out of reflex, shifting his stance to one clearly prepared for a fight. His sword is, unfortunately, on Bakura's other side, meaning it's not easy for him to go after.

...Not that he thinks he can, with Ryou there...

Rufael, on the other hand, flares up angrily, making Zero's hands twitch a little.]

Who are you, who acts so uncouth and stinks of demons?

I'm Bakura. [He rests his head on one hand, tossing the hairbrush carelessly in his hand and looking every picture at ease despite the irritation of that holy aura. Kh, what a bastard... He doesn't even try to pronounce the name properly.] Heh heh... Rufaeru. Zero. Heheheheheh... What's wrong?! You act like you've never met a spirit before! Keep it up... Those paranoid reactions of yours are positively thrilling!

[That aura does not feel like a mere spirit, does it?]

[~~Stupid Japanese language.~~ Unfortunately for Bakura, Rufael's not so easily provoked and he ignores the mispronouncation, just narrowing his eyes sharply.

Hrn... the energy it would take to manifest would, at his current level, likely put him to sleep for a good few days. But if he could change, it might just be enough of a surprise for him to blast that thing with a wave of holy magic and get it off the body of that other boy. And if it got off, maybe Zero...

Tch. What a situation to fall into.]

We have met many spirits, in fact, but they were always the kind to force us to fight.

Force you? Heh... [He keeps his eyes on the boy, suspicious of whatever the two of them are planning.]

I'm not forcing anyone into anything... but weren't you the one that goaded me out here? I was just peacefully resting in the Ring, after all! You just had to push me with that damned aura of yours!

Heh heh... if you're looking for a fight, I'll indulge you. But it seems to be that neither of you are in any fit state for it... Shouldn't you just be saving your strength? You can fight me when you're fit and ready.

Spirits are difficult to fight even with magic. We are certainly capable, but that does not mean we enjoy the irritation.

[Zero, not privy to Rufael's planning, shows nothing of the angel's thinking on his face. With the threat of danger, however, his own eyes have changed from the childish and lonely look of before to something cold and close to merciless, the eyes of a warrior and mercenary with experience that should be impossible for his apparent age.]

Hah... I did no such thing as goading you. That aura is only natural, and it isn't something that can simply be shut off.

[Hm. No sense in hiding anything, if he knows.]

But, you are correct. We are hardly in a position to fight you. Even so, that's quite a generous... and suspicious... offer from one who has the aura of evil. What's the catch?

Hoh? I could have sworn it got stronger after you heard about my presence. Was I imagining that?

[Interesting... the kid clearly had more to him than he was showing. He was probably older than he looked...]

Tch. It's clear you can sense what I am, at least in part. So there's no point in keeping up the usual friendly act. But isn't it telling that your first thought is fighting, while mine isn't?

[He tosses the hairbrush, catching it carelessly.]

Just because something is evil, that doesn't mean it's randomly violent! But if we have to fight, I'd prefer to face you at your strongest. You told my host that you didn't have much energy. Facing you now would be boring.

Of course you were. With the state I am in, do you really think I would waste energy on strengthening that aura for no reason?

[Yes, but Bakura doesn't need to know that. Zero tilts his head a little, confusion seeping onto his face as Rufael falls silent, thoughtfully.

Heh... "boring," eh? He suddenly feels like he has a better idea about this spirit.]

That's certainly true enough. [The aura fades some, to slightly lower than it was even before Ryou met Zero.] There, then. That is as far as I can "ration" it without having to actually expend energy to suppress. Will that do?

If you had questions, ask them now. I'll relinquish control to Ryou, if not.

Speaking of which, he's asleep right now, so he doesn't know anything about this. If you want to keep up that innocent act around him, you might want to conjure it up before I wake him, Zero. He doesn't have to know what kind of a person you truly are.
