[For anybody awake mid-afternoon on the 22nd, outside or caring enough to look at their windows, they might notice a blinding light accompanied by the sudden appearance of a God.

It seems to be one hell of an escape attempt, the golden dragon's wings splayed wide as it sent forth a seemingly never ending stream of fire towards the sky. But something stopped it, an invisible wall of sorts, curling those flames back as if hitting the inside of glass dome. The great beast stops after awhile, starts again, and then disappears in the same bright flash from whence it came.

Pinpointing a location is hard, but whoever seems to have brought the creature about appears to have been at the cliff side behind the school. Of course, they were long gone by the time anybody got there... ]

((ooc: so, this is basically a reaction mingle, for anybody who's interested! since the event would be visible to anybody who cared to look. tag around with each other and so on~ Malik, Harriet, and Bakura won't be around the area anymore, but they still might tag around depending, and the odds are greater if it's a post-summoning starter, since they'll be back in the school a little while after.))

It's a special Duel Monsters card that I've never seen before with a weird effect. Is there something more special about it?

This is one of the three sacred god-beasts... Osiris. It's the second of the Pharaoh's greatest servants.

[His voice is filled with amusement... and hushed respect.]

[Whoa... Yugi looks at the card again with a new-found respect of his own, gingerly reaching out to pick it up. He isn't sure what he's expecting from it, but what he gets is a rather accepting feeling, even among the charge of power.

Of course... Mahad confirmed that for us. But it seems even our old god-beast accepts us.

I'm honestly surprised... to find it has come back to you even in this age. It must think itself needed.

[Perhaps it returned to protect the boy... or perhaps it simply desired to return to that closeness. He could believe either.]

Well, if that was Ra and it wasn't me, maybe someone else has it? So maybe Osiris doesn't to let us get hurt.

It's beyond unthinkable... for Ra to allow anyone else to summon it. But it's a possibility that can't be disregarded.

Maybe someone made it let them, somehow?

It's a surprising thought, if that's the case. They'd have to be more powerful than the gods themselves... or been accepted by it somehow. But it's possible.

Maybe it's a good person who has it!

[He hopes so, at least. After the Thief King, he really doesn't want to imagine yet another person who wants to stab him for something. Or burn, in this case.]

For Ra to accept them, they must have a good heart... That much at least is certainly true.

[Yugi has too many enemies for such a cute thing.]

So maybe we'll meet them soon! Maybe... Osiris can help, if Ra couldn't do it alone!

Except... I don't know if I can summon Osiris or not... It seems like he'd be a lot harder to summon than you.

I am not sure. Osiris is a powerful beast, and takes much strength to summon. Even with it being willing, it may be difficult.

But... it could help, right? Even if it can't break the barrier, if something happens, then... it could help us...

[Yugi looks down at the card, feeling the strength from it as he lets the fingers of his free hand brush along the picture. He's scared of it, honestly... scared of the idea of bringing out a god to fight.

But... Joey, and Jounouchi, and Ryou and Mahad --

-- ...Mahad. Of everyone, he wants... he wants to protect Mahad, so that it won't happen again. So that he won't...

Yugi doesn't even realize he's started to cry until it hits the picture of the red dragon.]

[He reaches out to grasp the boy's shoulders, firmly, meeting his eyes.]

If you wish to obtain that power, it is your right. Osiris belongs to you.

[Yugi wipes his face on his sleeve before looking up, sniffling a bit but at least managing to stop the crying. His right... yeah, because... he was a Pharaoh before. That's why he can have Mahad as such a good friend now, and why this monster feels so warm, too. Not to the level of the Black Magician, maybe, but enough.

He's already learning power through the magic Mahad's teaching him. And the whole reason he wants Osiris... yeah, it's the same reason. To be able to help his friends... to protect them... and to not be a burden.

That's what it's there for. To protect us and our friends.

Yugi nods firmly, looking back up with that determination of his.]

Then... teach me that, too!

[Mahad can't help but smile. That determined look... the flash of fierceness in those otherwise melting eyes, like a spaniel that's desperate to protect its pups. It's a good look on him. He nods, firmly.]

[It's still strange to hear something like that, but even as he opens his mouth to reply, his stomach growls, loudly and noticeably.

[Yugi doesn't seem to mind the laughing much, scratching his cheek embarrassedly. He puts Osiris's card away in his deck -- he'll sort it later -- and pushes off the chair, going towards the kitchen.]
