[Oddly enough, the woman who usually pipes in over the speakers at least once a month hasn't shown her face--figuratively speaking--this month at all. However, there is a dull static that pours forth from all the speakers today. It is an unending, but bearable white noise.]

Funny, I'm pretty sure I only mentioned it once and that you were the one that steered the conversation down this unfortunate path.

[ Thinking and talking about some dude's junk isn't really high on the list of Things Jason Likes To Talk About; however, the chatter back and forth is allowing Jason to consider multiple options in the task of getting his kris back. It isn't something calling for immediate action and he's never been one to really hold onto material things - great to have them, he can live without them - but he wouldn't be against getting this particular piece back. ]

[He shrugs, just barely managing to hold back his laughter now.]

So how about we backtrack? There are people here can change shapes, have vast knowledge of technology, can summon familiars on a whim, et cetera - what makes you think you have what it takes to get past the barrier? Inquiring minds want to know.

You know, it was almost cute at first, you thinking that your ability to nick things was gonna get you off this rock and back to kicking sand in people's faces. Now it's just pathetic.

... [Bakura laughs in return, although there's something much more spiteful about his own.]

Hoh? You think so? [Diabound makes his appearance again, rising up behind Bakura like an overprotective father looming over the new boyfriend of the week.]

And you're comparing that to what, yourself? You've accomplished fucking nothing! So shut up, unless you have results!

[ Cocking his head back, Jason's eyes flit up to the Diabound. He holds a steady gaze for a few seconds before he levels it back towards Bakura. If he's perturbed, it doesn't show. ]

Just because you're a different shade of rat than the rest of us doesn't mean the cage is going to change. No skills brought to the table - [ There's a pause as he casts a casual glance over the splintered mess near Bakura. ] figurative, obviously - make any leeway. You try to sell yourself with your trinkets and gold but none of that shit matters.

[Bakura draws Diabound back into his soul, turning around and sweeping his coat behind him as he begins to walk away. His tone is dark and unnecessarily ominous.]
