Despite those jabs at his 'needless' upsets, the words were touching. It's true... the Ring could find a new host. If anyone could persuade the spirit to do so, it would be Malik. But it would be easy too to ignore Ryou entirely. Malik hadn't done that. Despite the harshness of that initial revelation, those few months ago, Malik had tolerated his presence with an odd sort of grace. And it sounded almost as if... Malik considered him a friend in his own regard. Not a close one, of course not... but a friend none-the-less.]
