[Kai's managed to dig up at least two books on memories, but they aren't as simple as 'How to recover lost memories in five easy steps'. The books he's found look to be similar to the spellbooks he's studying from, and that means he's definitely going to need Karasu's help going through them. Even if they find something useful, he wouldn't dare try to cast anything on her; he's hoping it'll at least point them in the right direction. Kai has a sneaking suspicion the Creeper's involved in the mess somewhere, just based on what Karasu had told him.
Honestly, if it weren't for Ryou...
Kai takes another bite of his carrot stick and glances over at the closed bedroom door from where he's sprawled on the couch, flipping through pages. He'd put Surge in just a while ago, and so far the big Labrador's being as quiet as a mouse.]

I had a little 'accident' with a wall introducing itself to my head before. I might have to put off helping you while I sleep a little... my head's killing me.
[Among other things. His shoulder's in agony.]

[That's right, he said he was hurt. Karasu lifts her arms up, hesitates, then gently rests them on Bakura's head, closing her eyes. She's not an expert in magic, but seeing Bakura hurting is painful to her, and she knows enough about Cure to know how to use it.
And if she's a big strong dragon, then the magic from her other side should fuel it... right?
Well... here goes nothing, as she tries to focus the spell into Bakura to heal what damage he's taken.]

[What is this...? This energy is soothing and gentle, washing over him like a gentle rain. The tension leaves him slowly as he relaxes against her.
It's enough to heal the damage from the impact, dulling it down to insignificance rather than the potentially severe effects it might have had if he had simply fallen asleep like that.
Her energy is like her soul. It's warm and bright and gentle, but powerful at the same time. Like the sun itself.
It's both wonderful and terrible at the same time... but more importantly, it's power. Even if it's a power that has an eerie nature to him, it's power. And it's power being turned to help him.]
Karasu...-chan?

[She's not skilled in this spell, so it's taking all her concentration to keep it going like this. She doesn't know how badly Bakura is hurt, so she's trying to pour as much of that magic in as she can, hoping to heal all the damage... or at least enough so he's no longer in danger or pain.
In what feels like ages later -- but is only about a minute or two -- that flow stops, and she exhales sharply, rubbing her eyes a little. Phew. That felt... interesting.]
...How are you feeling?
no subject
Pretty good.
[Lifting his head, he meets her eyes with a fond smile.]
The pain's pretty much all gone now. Thanks.

...it's weird. I tried to heal as much as I could, but... I don't feel all that tired. A little drained, maybe, but just like after you run a mile or something.
I'm glad that it doesn't hurt anymore, though. Maybe I'm getting really good at that spell!

[He teases her playfully, sitting back and stretching.]
Ah, if only you'd had that spell a few months ago, heheh.
[...he didn't mean that to come out bad, Karasu. He'd just probably have fewer scars if you had.]
no subject
[Ah... she fidgets with her hair a little, looking down a bit sadly.]
Yeah... if only.
no subject
That wasn't a slight on you. I've gotten a bit casual about this now, unfortunately, so I don't tend to think how it sounds.

[He stretches out, leaning his head on the back of the couch.]
Ryou represses his feelings on the matter, so I can't tell you how he feels... I doubt it's good. Even those hobbies of his are troublesome now, with the lack of feeling in this hand.
[Lifting it above him, he flexes his fingers slowly, studying the eerie whiteness of the damaged skin. It's clear that there's still motor problems with them; one of them doesn't bend fully when he tries to command it to. Even magic can't heal this sort of thing. It's far too late.]
But it doesn't hurt anymore. There's nothing but an inconvenience from them now.
no subject
I guess magic never really is the fix-all everyone thinks.
[She wants to help those wounds, to heal them so that Bakura and Ryou don't have to suffer... but even she has her limits, it seems.]
But... I can at least help anything else. So if you're hurt and you need help... come find me, okay? You and Ryou-kun both. I'll make sure nothing ever gets as bad as this again.
no subject
But, Karasu...
[Of course, he has the soul fragment shebears... like with the thief king. If he offers her something as a supposed catalyst, the fragment will surely connect them in future. It's the same lie he told the thief king.]
I might be able to offer you a way to contact me, no matter where I am. But I need to borrow something of yours to do it. That way, if I need help, or you need to talk to me, you won't need to make an effort to find me.
no subject
[That is worrying. And it's not like she has a way he can just emergency call he--
-- eh?]
You can do something like that?
[Something of hers to do it? She frowns a little, though only in thought about what he could need.]
What kind of something?
no subject
It's a tiresome bit of magic, but once the connection has been established, it can be connected with ease at any time. All you'd have to do would be to touch it and try to contact me. I'll be alerted and the connection will establish. Though it does mean that I can't contact you unless you're touching it, so it's probably best if it's something you don't take off.

[Crap. She doesn't have any of...]
Oh, wait!
[She gently pushes Bakura's legs off her lap, then disappears into her room. It's only about a minute later that she comes back, holding up a choker.]
Will this do?
no subject
[He holds out his hand for it.]
no subject
[She hands it to him, sitting down on the armrest of the couch.]

[Taking it in his hand, he stares at it for a moment. It's best to at least look like he's doing something. Closing his hand over it, he focuses, calling up his energy. That blue aura of his sparks up slowly.
It's an eerie sight. This energy isn't his usual darkness, devoid of the cruel feeling of it, but instead the true power within him. It's an energy that's unique to him, chilling and yet controlled.
The Ring chimes in a wind that doesn't exist, his hair flickering up further from the same source. And then...
...it stops.]
It's done.
no subject
She takes it back from him when he's finished, carefully clipping it around her neck. But just as she moves to put her hand on it, she pauses, blinking a little.]
Do I need to touch it? Or is it just skin contact?
no subject
Give it a try if you want.
[He links his hands behind his head, relaxing.]
no subject
[She folds her hand in her lap, closing her eyes and trying to do just that.]
Does this work?
no subject
[It's harder to transfer messages through her than it is for the thief king.]
But we should keep it for emergencies. It's tiring trying to connect like this, especially from a distance.
no subject
[And it's not like she's ever had trouble finding him when she wanted to talk. Besides, this feels kind of weird.]
