[Being from Ancient Egypt and all that, seeing the dark, neon-lite laser tag room is enough to make him stumble back in awe. On the wall are vests with a sensor above the heart, as well as a set of guns.

Just beside that is a set of rules that Bakura sure as hell can't read:

EACH PLAYER TAKES ONE VEST AND ITS CORRESPONDING GUN.
DO NOT COVER UP THE SENSOR ON THE VEST.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME IS TO HIT THE TARGET ON OTHER PLAYERS' VESTS.
WHEN YOU ARE HIT, YOUR GUN WILL TURN OFF.
THE LAST PLAYER STANDING WINS!

Needless to say, he just takes a gun and decides to explore the room.]

((ooc: decided to intro one of the new rooms that I added last week (I'll also add these specifics to the setting page). Anyway, play laser tag with each other, tag around, and have fun! Feel free to handwave your character re-entering the game if you want to keep playing after they've already lost once.

Also, feel free to be a big fat cheater and not play by the rules, if that's how your character rolls! That's the fun of RP, isn't it?))

Sometimes... yeah. It's hard to be able to talk to people. It's been pretty easy here, because everyone here has something different about them. Even if not, we're all here from some other world, so it's easy to find something to ask about or talk about.

But back home, even before I moved to Domino, it was always hard to relate -- or even really get close to -- anyone I tended to meet. I know I don't exactly look the most normal as I am, so I blamed that a lot, but... well, you don't look too much different from me. Not as pale, but our hair's very close in color.

Like I said before -- I think -- I never really made friends that easily. But it's been almost too easy to do that here. I mean, I'm thankful for that, but it just makes me wonder if I really am out of place with "normal" people.

...That's right. I moved to Domino City after... [Something. What was it?] ...something happened. I remember... it was a pretty small apartment.

[She remembers. She actually remembers!]

That's right. But... why did I move there? And I can't remember anything about the city itself...

Domino City is where I live... If you want to know anything about it, just ask me.

But don't strain yourself. It seems like your memory's coming back on its own, at least a little.

[It's just so frustrating, to have only a small piece come back! But she knows Bakura's right... trying to think on it too hard won't do anything. And if he lives there too...]

I couldn't have been there very long, since we'd never met before... at least, I don't think we had, right?

I'd never even seen you before I came here. You'd think there'd be rumors or something, but if there were, I didn't hear them.

It's true that you're special. You shine like a beacon... In more ways than one. You're unique because of your other side, but you're also unique because of you.

But, Karasu... that's not a bad thing. Some people will always treat it as such, but those people are usually afraid. Afraid of being overshadowed, of being shown up, of anything that's different...

People like that aren't worth even a second glance. It's hard not to take them to heart, but you're worth a million of those types.

[But she really does feel better about that now, and her smile says as much. There's no way they wouldn't have been friends, even if they met outside of here.]

Heheh... I think part of what helps here is probably that you're more relaxed, too! You were really tense when I first met you.

[He grins back. It's trite advice, but it's true. He didn't even have to lie for that part.]

Was I really? ...I guess I was feeling pretty worried and out of place, but being here long enough, it's hard not to adjust to it.

Yeah. You were acting like you didn't trust anyone. Kind of like a wounded animal, really.

Well, technically, I was one, wasn't I? If just a really, really big animal.

Yeah. I figured it was probably residual or something. I mean, your other half looked like it was going to bite my head off if I wasn't careful. But I just couldn't leave you there like that.

[Of course something like that would be amplified in that form... her distrust in general must have been multiplied by the instincts she felt.]

Still, I really appreciate that you helped me anyway. And on the bright side, it's healed into a pretty cool looking scar, and I've always wanted one of those.

You got for that sort of set-up in games too?

I know it's probably ironic to say considering how strong the Blue-Eyes is, but I like characters that approach things with more subtlety than brute force. There's just something about cleaning out an entire area with exact shots or careful backstabbing to avoid any of your party getting hurt, you know?

Heheh... I agree. Brute force has its place, but it's more fun to play with the varied style that being stealthy can offer! It's more challenging, and it's just more interesting to me.

Plus it's kind of fun to rob places blind without their noticing.

You're telling me! I usually just grab what's valuable, but sometimes I end up completely cleaning out an area of everything I can pick up, just because. Even if it's not valuable, I took everything in the house not nailed down!

We have similar strategies, it seems! Though sometimes I wish games had better programming for reactions to that kind of shit. At least in TRPGs you get to find out the funny reactions.

It seems so! Maybe we should play something like that together sometimes. We'll clean out entire villages of everything from valuables to dishes!
