[When Amy Rose woke up in the school's nurse's office, she was horribly confused. The last thing she remembered was walking home from the grocery store with two huge bags in hand, about to cross the busy street. She didn't think she had tripped and fell into the asphalt or anything; after all, she was completely void of any injury, no pain or bandages. Maybe she had gotten away lucky and some nice soul had deposited her in the hospital just in case. Whatever it was she was totally fine, so she decided right then and there she wasn't going to lie here in this bed forever and decided to check herself out.

As the pink hedgehog pushed herself up off the mattress and headed outside, she was shocked to find that she certainly wasn't in any hospital. As she peeked into the different rooms down the nearby hallways she only became more confused. Why on earth was she in a school?]

What kinda weird joke is this?

[She asked herself with a frown, hands at her hips. She stood there for awhile, thinking hard, before sighing in defeat. She didn't know anyone who could have set something up like this, except if maybe Dr. Eggman had kidnapped her again somehow, but this didn't seem like the kind of place he would go to. Amy was completely stumped.]

Wow, that sounds like all kinds of creepy! Just waking up in a bed here, without knowing who put you there or why... ugh! Who knows who touched me!

[She shivered in disgust, hugging herself for but a brief moment. His next few sentences caused a sense of alarm in her, green eyes widening and a grimace forming on her face.]

Hey Shadow... what do you think happened to our friends?

[ That merits a brow raise from the black hedgehog. ]

What do you mean "our" friends?

You know, Sonic and Tails and everyone! Don't be silly, Shadow. And Rouge! Aren't you good friends with her, too?

[She chuckled, idly playing with the hem of her dress.]

Well even if you don't think so, I consider you my friend, at least. I was worried about you just like everyone else! I'm happy to see you're safe.

[ Shadow can't help but smile at Amy... Though it's not a very friendly smile. In fact, it's a not more creepy than anything. ]

You're more naive than I thought... Then again, you did mistake me for that blue hedgehog that one time... I guess I should expect you'd be so simple-minded.

What gave you the idea that that spy was my "friend"? Ally is a far more appropriate term, and even that I use loosely.

Hey, what's got into you, mister? I know you're not exactly the friendliest person I know, but you've never been this rude to me!

[She huffed, cheeks puffing up in anger and she jabbed a finger into the white patch of fur upon his chest.]

Rouge is totally your friend! You guys have been through so much together! I'd be hurt if I were her and you said stuff like that... come on, Shadow, I know you've got a heart in there!

[ Feeling her poke at his chest-fur, Shadow quickly moved to grab her by the wrist... and not gently, either. ]

[The sudden grip upon Amy's wrist made her gasp, and Shadow earned a wince with that, too.]

Ow, Shadow! That hurts!

[She grimaced, trying to tug her arm back from the red and black hedgehog.]

You've mistaken me for someone who cares about you or anyone else on this miserable planet.

[ His grip tightens before he releases her roughly. ]

The truth is... I've never had any "friends". I've been using that Spy and the Doctor for my own means.

I don't mind telling you this because there's nothing you can do about it. [ That smile again. ] Even without my presence in that place, everything should continue as planned... It only means there'll be one less person to interfere should everyone else try to stop it.

And even if they do... It's useless. There's no way to stop what's coming.
