ANNOUNCEMENT 002

[Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you will hear the loud screeching of a microphone through the speakers before it dies down. Not long after, a familiar husky voice blares through said speakers.

Although her tone is somewhat pleasant, she manages to keep her authoritative tone as well.]

Good afternoon. [There's a brief pause.] You've all been quite busy, haven't you? It's, hm...interesting to watch, to say the least. But do keep the property damage to a minimum, will you? It's awfully rude to smash people's property on arrival, don't you think?

[Despite that warning, she manages a soft (if a bit ominous) chuckle.]

That being said, I hope you're all well rested. A good rest means a good grade, after all~.

[There's another burst of feedback before the announcement comes to an end.]

Convictions mean everything.

[What would he be if he went against Caesar's orders and acted against the Legion's ideals? Nothing more than the lawless tribals running around the wastes. Caesar saved him from that life.]

Without them we are nothing.

Maybe.

[Maybe that's why Boone feels so empty. He went against what he believed in, and now he's nothing. Just a man looking for revenge, for all the good that'll do him. He tells himself it's for Carla, but maybe deep down it's mostly to make himself feel better. After all, Carla isn't around to appreciate anything he does for her anymore. He should have turned his gun on himself rather than obey his orders.]

[He offers the man a mock look of sympathy.]

It is unfortunate that the NCR has no true convictions. It cannot keep the wasteland safe or civilized.

[Who would want the "freedoms" offered by the NCR when they simply resulted in corruption and death? The Legion saves people from themselves just as much as it saves them from wasteland wildlife and bandits.]

[He scowls at Vulpes and crosses his arms over his chest.]

You call slavery and crucification civilized? The NCR have their problems, but at least they're not the same kind of fucked up as the Legion.

[No argument could ever sway Boone to see sense in most things the Legion do.]

We're following the example of the very successful Roman Empire. Our methods have been consistently been proven successful when it comes to creating civilization.

[He's not actually trying to convince him. That's clearly not going to happen.]

You clearly would have been much better off in the Legion.

[He'd have convictions, his wife, and the opportunity to help others. What more could he want?]

I don't buy it.

[Yeah, not in a million years.]

What, so I could spend my life burning towns and tying people to crosses? No. Besides, I'm not sure a skirt would suit me.

The results speak for themselves.

[Then eventually, he'll die like everyone else who resists. The Legion will take over the Mojave Wasteland and New Vegas.]

[He scoffs at the jab about his uniform.]

I might pity you for your ignorance if I wasn't so tired of hearing such blather already.
thumbsdown: (what is it?)

[personal profile] thumbsdown 2013-07-01 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
I don't care what you think the results are. You're all insane.

[They're running around the Mojave in skirts and wolf hats tying people to crosses and pretending to be some kind of Roman Empire. Boone doesn't know much about the first Empire, but they were probably all nuts too.]
