CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: JUNGLE FEVER

[Much like last time, the intercom buzzes to life in the middle of the night for only a moment. An annoyed sigh can be heard.]

Oh dear. That's not supposed to happen...

[That's the last thing everyone will hear during the night. But in the morning, they will find themselves surrounded by vegetation so thick it'd be almost impossible to tell that they're in a school if they didn't already know. Vines coming out of the floorboards and covering the walls/ceilings, exotic plants growing out of the walls. Not to mention the wildlife! Just about any animal you would imagine to be in a jungle, dangerous or not, can be found lurking in the school. But don't worry! Not every corner of the campus is infested with poisonous plants and carnivorous beasts. The cafeteria is one hundred percent clear. It seems that the lunch lady's awful cooking is doing some good at keeping the wildlife at bay. In fact, anything that starts to grow anywhere near to doors of the lunchroom dies off pretty quickly!

May want to steer clear of the auditorium, though. The vegetation there is the thickest...and most dangerous.]

((TIME FOR ANOTHER EVENT. Seeing as how this one went up a day late it'll go on until the 19th. Every area is covered in vines, flowers, and animals. Some are dangerous (plants included) and some are harmless -- I'll leave that up to player discretion on what's hanging around. As long as they're plants/animals that would normally be found in any kind of jungle. Remember: nothing too big, it has to fit in the campus! The air is also really humid and muggy. The auditorium will have the bulk of the dangerous animals/plants, and also the biggest!

Lisa the nurse will be around to heal wounds or any poison (the symptoms of the poisonous plants are up to you. It's not a mind altering poison or anything, though), but her office will still be filled with vines and small animals, nothing dangerous. And as mentioned above the cafeteria is all clear and Edna will be around cooking all her awful food. Have fun!

cafeteria

[ At the exclamation, Barnaby looks up from the herbs and fungi he managed to collect just outside the cafeteria. ]

'Tis strange, certainly. It offers resources once scarce but I fear there will be trouble should anything be lurking within those depths.

[ He sets aside a newly created poultice, lining it up with three other flasks. ]

Have you any need for curatives, you need but ask. I shall offer what I can, ser.
praisingsun: (So I didn't scare you?)

[The knight looks over to the other man and nods approvingly at his diagnosis of the situation as well as his forward thinking at gathering supplies]

Indeed! Perhaps t'would be best to gather a group and undergo some manner of expedition in order to glean a surplus of such items whilst the opportunity still exists....

But you need not worry for myself. Keep such curatives for those whom are ill prepared for such dangers. My estus is all the curative I shall need. [He raises the stone flask in his hand before taking another sippy]

[He pauses, thinking] Out of curiousity, have thou found anything that can act as an anti-toxin? Some of the plants look frightfully poisonous and I could not bare to think of another dying a slow death to poisonous materials.

[ The pawn nods at the suggestion. ]

That would be a decision most wise; however, I would not be able to assist should anything attack. This pawn's days of wielding a blade have long since passed.

[ Once the question is posed, Barnaby looks down at his gathering. He sifts through his herbs, pulling out one in particular to hold up. ]

There is the mithridate, though it is limited in its supply. I cannot make anything more potent; the herbs used to enhance the mithridate's curative abilities grow only in the canyons.
praisingsun: (You don't look Hollow)

Then I shall merely have to be more vigilant to make up the difference. [The armored knight nods his head, smiling brightly]

Mithridate? I've ne'er heard of it. Pray tell, have you come across any peculiar mosses? Particularly mosses colored blood red, violet or violet with white blooming flowers? I know the purple mosses as a potent anti-toxin whilst the red moss is useful to ebb the flow of blood.
devotedpawn: (where gone those days)

[ Though it doesn't quite mirror the other's genuine expression, Barnaby does offer a polite smile at the man's resolve. He's been in enough social situations that he has become aware of just when such things are necessary. ]

No, though that means naught; I have not traveled far from the entrance. Will you be searching for them, ser?
praisingsun: (Check out those foolish Darkwraiths!)

[personal profile] praisingsun 2013-07-16 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I fully intend to. These mosses could very well be salvation for another, and so as a knight of Astora, I can hardly sit idle. Still, only a fool rushes in unprepared, and so I am here, preparing in a most fitting manner.

[ He bows his head then. ]

Please, allow me to accompany you. I will assist in any way that I am able.
praisingsun: (JOLLY CO-OPERATION)

[personal profile] praisingsun 2013-07-18 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah excellent! Two pairs of eyes are much more apt to find what the other misses! Let us engage in jolly co-operation together, my friend! [He takes a final sip and reaches out to grasp the pawn's arm in a hearty greeting]
devotedpawn: (Default)

Sorry for the wait!

[ The man is reminding him of the mercenaries he served back home, jovial and eager. Barnaby gives the extended hand a pat once it touches his arm and then reaches for the basket he wove earlier from twigs and the like. ]

If I may have just a moment.

[ He has a piece of bark set aside for this; it's slid carefully between the minute gap in the bottom of the basket, creating sections. He starts filling the left side with his poultices and already gathered herbs. ]

I shall leave the other vacant for our travels.
