[Late into the afternoon, the early risers will find themselves waking up, and the sleep-in types will find themselves sleeping in even longer. All sense of urgency and time has vanished, leaving residents sloth-like or simply too inept to realize how much time is passing. Even when they do realize, well...it's too late now, right?

On top of that, for some reason all the clothing in the building has been replaced with horrible 90s fashion.]

((ooc: The event begins! It will last through the 19th. Feel free to mingle or make your own posts, and you're encouraged to link images of whatever outfit you stick your character in. That's part of the fun!))

[Today, the lovely denizens of the Campus will wake up to a beautiful spring morning. Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and pollen is in there. But this isn't just any pollen, the kind that afflicts the allergy prone to months of watery eyes and sneezing, oh no, this pollen is far more potent.

This morning, you will wake up with exactly one menial illness. It won't kill you, it won't even really hurt you, but it will be a constant annoyance to you for the next week. Sicknesses range from sneezes and rashes to spontaneous floral growth out of the forehead region. Really, anything goes.]

((ooc: okay, so, feel free to give your characters whatever silly or petty illness you want! This event ends on the 25th. Our cooperative event has been postponed due to a lack of feedback/interest--since it's an event that requires at least a small group of people to be active in.))

[It seems that the building is once more up to it's old tricks. Today might seem like an ordinary day; there are no foreboding clouds or storms or blizzards, everyone's talking normally... except something is definitely wrong. Wasn't that door you just came through the door to your dormitory? And why are you on the ceiling? ...well at least you won't be there for long!]

((ooc: From today to the 20th, the building is doing a constant shuffle! The rooms are constantly switching around, and the same door could lead to multiple places over the course of the day. Of course, this means that you could walk into the cursed rooms from the North Wing at any time...

But it's not just rooms switching around. Doors might be on the ceiling, the staircase to the roof might suddenly drop you into the pool when you reach the top, and just because a door led to a room before, that doesn't mean it will now... it might lead to a window, or a brick wall, or a tree... or it could drop you down into a room from the ceiling. Do take care~! Logic might have no place here, but gravity surely will...))

[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]

Tja ... det här kommer att lägga sordin på våra studier, är nu inte det?

[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]

((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.

For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P

If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.

If you have any questions, just head to the mod plurk or send this account a PM, but most importantly--have fun!))

[The sun is out, and most importantly, the denizens of the Campus can actually see it shimmering through the melting snow at their windows.

Early on in the day it's still impossible to get outside, but as it goes the snow recedes enough to force open the doors and head outside. By the end of the day not only has the power flicked back on, but most of the snow in the sunny areas of the island has melted entirely, leaving the building itself, the beaches, and most of the cliff sides free of white.

The jungle and small mountaintop will remain covered for a few days longer, but it seems the worst of the chill has left with the snow.]

((ooc: event end! a new weather schedule will go up tomorrow. have fun, and feel free to backtag any of the event posts!))

[personal profile] intercom_voice
[Starting late that night on the 18th and continuing on throughout the rest of the day, the wind and snow howls, beating against the side of the building as it covers everything in several feet of white.

The lights flicker dangerously, and around noon is when the power finally goes. Those within the building are left in a cold-blue darkness and even the smallest comforts of warmth. Any standing water, and anything with a high water content, ices over within hours.]

((ooc: this blizzard lasts the 19th only, but feel free to backtag! There will be one final post on the 21st to signal the snow melting / closing of the event. Not that this isn't as bad as the blackout event. You can still see what's in front of you, but it is relatively dark inside.))

[personal profile] intercom_voice
[Early morning on the 15th, the building is deathly chilly as well as unusually dark. Even with the heat on people will find themselves wandering the halls and shivering, their breath fogging up in front of them. Anybody foolish enough to try and leave the building will find that the door simply won't budge due to the amount of snow piled against it, and any attempts to exit (or look) through the windows will greet them with a daunting wall of white. Even the courtyard is inaccessible, as is the door leading up to the rooftop.

Outside on the island, it seems a heavy snow storm has blanketed everything in a thick layer of white.]

((ooc: The event will last 7 days, with the first 4 being snowed-in, the 5th being a blizzard, the 6th another snow-in day, and the 7th having the snow melting. A post will be made on the 19th and 21st respectively. You can see the conditions here, and on the weekly weather sticky:

15th Wed: -32~-20°F; 20 mph; SNOWED IN
16th Thurs: -30~-23°F; 26 mph; SNOWED IN
17th Fri: -28~-18°F; 18 mph; SNOWED IN
18th Sat: -37~-29°F; 21 mph; SNOWED IN
19th Sun: -45~-38°F; 32 mph; SNOWED IN / BLIZZARD CONDITIONS
20th Mon: -15~0°F; 15 mph; SNOWED IN
21st Tues: 10~20°F; 5 mph winds; SNOW MELTING

Mingle, tag around, make your own posts and most of all--have fun! If you have any questions just contact the mod account. Characters with magic powers or a lot of strength CAN get through the doors, but those doors won't stay clear for long. The snow is VERY heavy.))

[Getting homesick around the holidays?

Don't worry, the Campus is making sure all you lovely denizens get a nice visit from home for Christmas. Not by people, though, but places. See, starting now, various different sections of the Campus are perfectly replicating different parts of all of your home worlds! That is, the most twisted, darkest, parts of your home worlds.

Have fun.]

((OOC: This event will go on until the 20th. Places where the NPCs hang out like the infirmary, lunch room, ect don't change at all, so think of those places as IC safe havens. Now really HAVE FUN.))

[Everybody sees everyone's underpants!

By whatever sadistic, poltergeist-like conscious that ruled this place, everything that isn't undergarments has gone missing. Luckily for everyone, tank tops and socks also count as an undergarments, along with the usual.]

((ooc: event will last until the 20th~ available clothing are: socks, plain tank tops, underwear/boxers/etc. and bras. UNDERAGED CHARACTERS DO NOT HAVE TO BE AFFECTED, but if you want to that's fine too.

Have fun, tag your series title, and so on!))

[Much to many's relief, late into the afternoon after another sweeping sleep spell, the Campus and everything inside it returned to its rightful place.

Even the voice from over the intercom pipes in upon re-arrival with her usual tell-tale screech of feedback.]

Well, now that was a long weekend. Back to class, every one!

((ooc: Event's over! Feel free to continue backtagging, or to make backdated event posts! Also if your character was sleeping on the concrete, DON'T WORRY, they didn't get crushed like the wicked witch of the west. Promise~))

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[In the later afternoon, with the sun already setting in the sky, there's the sound of something deep within the building powering down. One after another the lights pop off like a domino effect down the hall, with each room following in suite as the electrical outage worked its way through the building.

It only took a matter of seconds for the Campus to be enveloped in complete, inky darkness. Even with the proper time to adjust one's vision, it was still neigh-impossible to see. There was nothing but cold, lonely blindness.

Outside, the sun set...and it didn't rise again the next morning. The only saving grace was the starry night sky and the waning moon too keep the denizens from being completely consumed by darkness.]

((The darkness has come...RUN! Everything's the same, but now both the INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the island/campus are dark. It's much easier to see outside though, thanks to the stars and moon in the sky. Characters are free to improvise light sources, but nothing electrical that needs to plug in will be functioning. If something runs on batteries, it'll last until those die.

This event will stretch until the end of Sept. 18th, feel free to tag in to this post, or to make your own threads! Have fun!))

[personal profile] intercom_voice
[Surely it was too early for another announcement, right...? But then there it is, that tell-tale electronic feedback screeching through the halls before a mature female voice resonates through it.]

The doors are unlocked.

[That's all she says. Those who are curious might test the front doors...and they'll find that they open not to the seemingly civilized outskirts of town as the now vanished view from the roof may have made you think, but to the horizon. Likewise that barrier and its lies blocking anybody's escape via the roof or sky has collapsed, leaving the air a tad bit...more temperamental. You see, there was weather now.

Out from the front doors of the Campus can be see an expanse of land and then the sea. Anybody who ventures out further will find that they're still trapped, only in a bigger cage. This new cage is now five miles across the diameter at its longest point. The island itself is about as varied as it comes: covered jungles, a cave system, a single stream leading up to a freshwater lake, and a lone mountain near the center. One part near the front of the school is home to a sometimes-pleasant sandy shore ripe for the hunting sea life. Everywhere else is a perilous cliff fall into the sea.

Anybody who tries to escape via the sea will find the riptide tearing them back to a cave near the shore.]

((This event is a permanent setting expansion, you can read more about it here as well as in the island setting page near the bottom here. Have fun, if you have any questions simply address them to the OOC post, plurk, or AIM if applicable, and please don't forget to tag your series!))

[Boy, the halls sure have been crowded lately, huh? Luckily for everyone it's not an issue anymore! The vines gradually shrink back into the floorboards as if nothing was growing out of it to begin with.

The flowers and foliage whittle away until they're black and dried up, eventually just disappearing with the vines, trees, and humid air. In a matter of minutes, everything is back as it was.]

((ooc: That's the end of the event guys! Hope you had fun. Feel free to continue playing/posting in the start post too! <3))

[Much like last time, the intercom buzzes to life in the middle of the night for only a moment. An annoyed sigh can be heard.]

Oh dear. That's not supposed to happen...

[That's the last thing everyone will hear during the night. But in the morning, they will find themselves surrounded by vegetation so thick it'd be almost impossible to tell that they're in a school if they didn't already know. Vines coming out of the floorboards and covering the walls/ceilings, exotic plants growing out of the walls. Not to mention the wildlife! Just about any animal you would imagine to be in a jungle, dangerous or not, can be found lurking in the school. But don't worry! Not every corner of the campus is infested with poisonous plants and carnivorous beasts. The cafeteria is one hundred percent clear. It seems that the lunch lady's awful cooking is doing some good at keeping the wildlife at bay. In fact, anything that starts to grow anywhere near to doors of the lunchroom dies off pretty quickly!

May want to steer clear of the auditorium, though. The vegetation there is the thickest...and most dangerous.]

((TIME FOR ANOTHER EVENT. Seeing as how this one went up a day late it'll go on until the 19th. Every area is covered in vines, flowers, and animals. Some are dangerous (plants included) and some are harmless -- I'll leave that up to player discretion on what's hanging around. As long as they're plants/animals that would normally be found in any kind of jungle. Remember: nothing too big, it has to fit in the campus! The air is also really humid and muggy. The auditorium will have the bulk of the dangerous animals/plants, and also the biggest!

Lisa the nurse will be around to heal wounds or any poison (the symptoms of the poisonous plants are up to you. It's not a mind altering poison or anything, though), but her office will still be filled with vines and small animals, nothing dangerous. And as mentioned above the cafeteria is all clear and Edna will be around cooking all her awful food. Have fun!

[Well that was an interesting four days, now wasn't it? Just as suddenly as the water appeared, it disappears, sinking into the floor as if there were invisible drains in every hall.

As for the stranded flora and fauna, they disappear over the next few hours. The school looks good as new by the end of the day, as if there had never even been a flood at all.]

((Event over, guys! Hope you all had fun. ♥ ))

[The intercom buzzes to life, for just a brief instance in the middle of the night.]

Well now, that can't be right...

[That was the only thing announced, and as ominous as it may be, surely it meant nothing, right? Well, by the time morning came, anybody waking up on the bottom bunk might think otherwise as they're suddenly submerged in water. But fear not! After all, it's only three or four feet of sea-life invested water permeating your room and the entire rest of the campus.]

[Oh, wait.... Maybe that is something to get upset about after all, because the only escape from wading through water is hiding out in the powerless, eerie auditorium or camping out on the roof. Even the effect rooms seem to be swamped.]

((EVENT TIME~! The Campus will stay this way June 10th~13th. Every area of the Campus is flooded about three~four feet, making the only escapes the previously mentioned auditorium stage/cat walks and roof (see locations: roof and west wing for more information). Effect rooms can still function, but also have water. The water has a small current, but shouldn't be able to sweep away teenage+ characters.

In the water you can find seaweed, manta rays, shellfish, small jellyfish, all sorts of fish, and baby (nonlethal) sharks. Feel free to improvise sea life as need be, but take into consideration the size constraints. No Cthulhu or giants squids. :P

Edna the Lunch Lady will be nowhere to be seen. Lisa the Nurse will still be working, although appearing particularly miserable. She can help treat and jelly fish stings or shark bites, among other things.))
