CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: JUNGLE FEVER

[intercom_voice]

[Much like last time, the intercom buzzes to life in the middle of the night for only a moment. An annoyed sigh can be heard.]

Oh dear. That's not supposed to happen...

[That's the last thing everyone will hear during the night. But in the morning, they will find themselves surrounded by vegetation so thick it'd be almost impossible to tell that they're in a school if they didn't already know. Vines coming out of the floorboards and covering the walls/ceilings, exotic plants growing out of the walls. Not to mention the wildlife! Just about any animal you would imagine to be in a jungle, dangerous or not, can be found lurking in the school. But don't worry! Not every corner of the campus is infested with poisonous plants and carnivorous beasts. The cafeteria is one hundred percent clear. It seems that the lunch lady's awful cooking is doing some good at keeping the wildlife at bay. In fact, anything that starts to grow anywhere near to doors of the lunchroom dies off pretty quickly!

May want to steer clear of the auditorium, though. The vegetation there is the thickest...and most dangerous.]



((TIME FOR ANOTHER EVENT. Seeing as how this one went up a day late it'll go on until the 19th. Every area is covered in vines, flowers, and animals. Some are dangerous (plants included) and some are harmless -- I'll leave that up to player discretion on what's hanging around. As long as they're plants/animals that would normally be found in any kind of jungle. Remember: nothing too big, it has to fit in the campus! The air is also really humid and muggy. The auditorium will have the bulk of the dangerous animals/plants, and also the biggest!

Lisa the nurse will be around to heal wounds or any poison (the symptoms of the poisonous plants are up to you. It's not a mind altering poison or anything, though), but her office will still be filled with vines and small animals, nothing dangerous. And as mentioned above the cafeteria is all clear and Edna will be around cooking all her awful food. Have fun!))

[ A signal pops up on his visual and his eyes dart in the direction he heard the voice. A green-wired circle marks his target, leaving Leo to advance. ]

I've got you. [ Jestingly: ] Next time,... try using something other than a tree!

[ Seeing as how his positron blades are on cool-down, he uses the claws instead; he is forced to go around insanely thick brushes but he's able to clear a path to Piko within a couple of minutes. The beams protruding from his knuckles die and the man lowers his arms. Relief crosses his features and he gives the youth a smile as he closes the distance between them. ]

You okay? [ Bending at the waist to make up for his height, Leo extends his hand to the vocaloid. ]

[pluginboy]

Okay-- [Piko looks around, letting out a little laugh.] There's some bushes too!

[Joking aside, Piko waits patiently for the older man to find him. When he sees movement just beyond the brush nearby, his eyes practically light up.]

Ah, Mister Leo! It's this air... [He pouts, taking the hand to help himself up.]

I'm not supposed to get submerged in water, or... [He pulls at his collar, grimacing comically.] Weather like this.

Then I guess we ought to look for a place that isn't overrun. The layout's still the same; maybe one of the rooms will be empty.

[ Leo then plants a hand on Piko's shoulder and looks down at him. ]

How long do you think you can hold out in this kind of heat?

[pluginboy]

That would probably be a good idea...

[Piko looks ahead, his view cut excruciatingly short due to all the vegetation around them.]

I don't know. [He looks down at his hands, knitting his brow. There's another fluctuation of the lights along his outfit as he does.]

Hopefully long enough. Um...what happens if I break?

[cybrid]

[ The fluctuation is noted and Leo tries to estimate just how much time they'll have in his head. It's a blind thought - he has no idea what the technological limitations were then but he hopes he isn't too far off the mark. ]

I'm not gonna let that happened.

[ The hand on the shoulder moves towards Piko's back and he gives the youth a pat between the shoulder blades. ]

Stick close, I'll clear a path for us - just don't get right behind me. [ The positron blade is summoned out of his left forearm. ] Don't want to nick you by mistake.

[pluginboy]

[Piko trusts Leo enough that that small bit of reassurance is enough to calm him for now.]

Okay...

[He takes a small step back when prompted, gawking at those positron blades.] Those are really co--ACHOO!

Ahh--ACHOO! [And so starts a sudden, bizarre sneezing fit.]

[cybrid]

[ The sneeze startles Leo and he's quick to retract his blade, looking back down at Piko. ]

What's wrong?

[pluginboy]

[Piko shakes his head, waving his hand as he continues to sneeze repeatedly. After about ten more "ACHOOs!" he finally settles down, looking a bit disorientated.]

Ach...I dunno...I feel funny.

[He rubs his nose, knitting his brow.]

[cybrid]

[ It's almost as if the kid has allergies but considering how much of him is synthetic, that's hard to believe. ]

Guess that's a good reason to hurry out of here.

[ Once he knows Piko isn't about to fall over to pass out on the spot, Leo's blades are back out and he's starting a path away from the direction he came. ]

[pluginboy]

[Piko nods, obediently following his roommate with little else to say. For awhile they make headway through the jungle, but then suddenly Piko stops them again with a whine.]

Mister Leo... [He's holding the large headphones that seem to be attached to the side of his head. The shifting beam of light that usually emanates from it instead is going crazy, sparking and pulsating like a tesla coil. It looks incredibly dangerous, but appears to be harmless as Piko is holding his hands over it.]

Are we almost out...?

[cybrid]

[ His name grabs his attention and Leo's soon glancing over his shoulder. The headset going fritz - not good. Luckily, there's a room just ahead. ]

Maybe. Let's hope so.

[ Blades retracting, he moves over to the double-doors and pulls at the vines running up and along the surface. They give easily enough and Leo opens one door to look inside only to be met with a grunting Edna.

Looks like they've found the cafeteria. ]

[pluginboy]

[Piko continues to drag his feet as he follows, standing idly by as Leo clears away some vines. When the older man opens the doors the reveal a not-jungle-infested cafeteria, Piko lets out an excited squeak.]

Ahhh...! It's normal! [He hurries over, not being so rude as to push ahead of Leo but waiting eagerly by instead.]

[cybrid]

[ Leo's eyes follow the disgruntled Edna as she heads into the back. ]

Seems that way. [ The door closes behind them once Piko enters and Leo's attention is back on the youth. ] The air doesn't bother you in here, does it?

[pluginboy]

[Piko sucks in a deep breath, then flops back on one of the cafeteria tables.]

Not at all, it's completely different...! [He closes his eyes and lets out a sigh.] I'm starting to feel better already.
