ANNOUNCEMENT 004
[Bet you all missed hearing from the lovely lady over the intercom, yes? No? Well too bad, because she's making her scheduled announcement right now, as indicated by the screeching of intercom feed.]
I do hope you're all enjoying the fresh air. I know how stir crazy some of you have been getting. A little fun in the sun never hurt anyone. Maybe now we can cut down on the property damage, hm? [Her tone darkens a bit.] And the fires.
You're welcome.
[Because clearly she's doing all of you a favor!]
And remember, don't spend all your time taking in the sun. You have studies to get to! "Only the educated are free"~
[The announcement ends.]

[He said all-too-sweetly with a slight smirk behind it, then returning to the placid demeanor he possessed. Pegasus was simply not the type to get agitated so easily.]
It's a waste of energy—particularly when you want to focus that on something else; Specifically, on a plan.
[Now the brush stops again, and he paused long enough to glance up at him.]
I've been here for about three months. Do you think I don't feel the same? It's definitely not an ideal location. But if we could possibly utilize the resources of the island itself, then we have a chance. Before, I didn't even know we were on an island. That illusion...the barrier, prevented me from realizing it.
[Pegasus shifts in the chair, before completely abandoning the brush, leaving it on his mixing palette for now.]
Of course, if you need to relax a little to refocus...I could help with that.
no subject
I don't need to relax. And I don't want your help.
[He was just being difficult now, frustrated at the situation, and frustrated at Pegasus's attitude.]
I just need to get out of here. [He clenches his hands at his sides, wanting to take action...do something, but he was stranded.]
no subject
[He said, meaningfully, already quite aware of how tired and frustrated his partner was because of this situation.]
I'm also calmer now...because I have you, silly boy. I have absolute confidence that together we can find a way out.
no subject
[Kaiba resists those words, even as they try to worm their way into his heart. It was a comfort he refused to accept, at least consciously.]
I have no doubt I'll get out of here eventually, but it's already taken too long. We're still wasting time...
[He shuffles, reaching into his briefcase.] I finished my mapping program.
no subject
[Hardly able to take on the kinds of responsibility Pegasus could. He sighed, and then shrugged up his shoulders.]
Ooooh? Show me then.
no subject
[Kaiba trusted Mokuba. He made him the vice president of Kaiba Corporation.]
Right. [He pulls out his laptop--now modified so that the internal webcam was external...and had a wireless signal! He placed the small camera on the collar of his shirt and turned the laptop screen to Pegasus.
On said screen could be seen a small window with the direct view in front of them, along with a grid-based terrain mapper on the bottom. It had both topical and geographic views. It was a bit rough, considering he was using a single camera to create a 3D map, but it got the basic idea down.]
It'll map anything we walk through, ensuring we can find our way back.
no subject
[Why, it had to do with everything! And that was the exact reason why he had to point it out. Still, he left it alone if only because he knew Kaiba would become defensive over his dear brother.
His attention moved to the screen and of the basic program Kaiba had created. It may have been simple, but it should help them get familiar with the island's topography.]
Mm...I see. Quite impressive.
no subject
[...But right, back to the laptop.]
If I had a second camera, I could improve it...but none of the other computers in this place work. So this will have to do.
no subject
I only make the point that he needs to be watched over carefully here. We don't have those resources now. There's no bodyguards that are going to protect him and there isn't telling what kind of people are around...Trust me when I tell you some of them aren't going to look twice at the fact that he's a child.
[Hmm. Well, now. It's coming together isn't it. Pegasus had had his suspicions when the brothers were together but he didn't know about Duelist Kingdom now, did he. Pegasus could only deduce from here further that Kaiba came directly from waking up from being in a coma. That definitely explained some things.]
It is a feat that you made it work this far, so I can't say we can be entirely picky.
no subject
I'll protect him. [The words are finalizing. Kaiba's not discussing the issue further.]
[After that, it's hard for him to suppress his agitation enough to talk about the system he made...]
...
no subject
Three eyes are better than just two you know!
[Pegasus chuckled, seemingly way too amused by that morbid little joke of his. Given their mutual cooperation already he saw no reason why he shouldn't help.]
no subject
Two will do.
[Now he reaches forward, closing his laptop.] Whenever we're ready to try leaving again, I'm ready.
no subject
[He said, softly. Even now he was being stubborn. This was just too big for one person. Didn't he see that? It wasn't a question of abilities per say...
Still, he'd not try his luck by pushing him so far when he was in this kind of mood.]
Mmn. You want to go now? There isn't much daylight left you know...
no subject
[Kaiba straightens up, picking up his briefcase and adjusting his collar.]
No, not right now. The camera I'm using isn't that good--it won't be able to track us in the dark.
no subject
[He huffed, turning back to sit in his chair and stare sullenly at his canvas.]
Hn. If you don't want my help then what are you doing out here telling me all this in the first place?
no subject
[With that, Kaiba heads back towards the school.
His words were harsh intentionally, and Kaiba was hiding his true motives behind them. Of course business was part of the equation, but there was more to it than that. He respected Pegasus, and wouldn't leave him behind if it was possible to take him with him.]
