NEVER ENOUGH YGOS

[For those actually loitering inside the building today, you may end up seeing a small little boy with weirdly spiked hair wandering around, most likely having passed you by. Perhaps he asked one of the less helpful people around for directions to some city or outside, and just gotten turned around.

As it is, he's been in and out of rooms and hallways at least three times now. It's only once he's -- somehow -- on the roof again that he finally surrenders to the prospect that he's lost, sighing and flopping his back against one of the AC units.

His hands reach down to fiddle with the large, golden object around his neck, looking up to the sky.]

Jounouchi-kun... Honda-kun... Anzu... where are you?

No, I'm sorry. [Again? First Bakura, now this guy...] Um, when did we meet before?

[Is it another case of meeting someone when he's blacked out?]

What! I can't believe it!

[Now he's just going to be a little huffy, excuse you for forgetting the most important man in Duel Monsters Yuugi-boy.]

You really don't know who I am? [How could you forget. Seriously.] I'm Pegasus, Creator of Duel Monsters!

No, sorry. Did we meet -- [AH!] -- you created it?!

['scuse him he's just staring in awe and admiration.]

[He spread his arms wide, a dazzling smile on his face. Oh, how sweet. He loved it when his fans acted like this. Then he really must not have known who he was!

Come to think of it...Had Yuugi-boy always been this short?]

Oh yes~ That's right! You played in my tournament and you won the grand prize. I can't believe you don't remember!

[Yugi is definitely very appreciative, and almost into fanboy mode when Pegasus says that.

...Um.]

I... didn't play in any tournament for you, Pegasus-san! Or any sort of Duel Monsters tournament at all...

Aha haha~ Yuugi-boy, don't be like that.

[Oh, and the use of the honorifics, how cute! Honestly.

Still, as long as we're not holding grudges over him kidnapping your grandfather or anything he is going to take full advantage of this.]

Oh really now? Could've fooled me! A boy who looked exactly like you with the name Yuugi Mutou about your age and height participated in my tournament you see. Anyway, how long have you been here anyhow?

Ah... [He thinks about asking about his other self, isn't sure how to bring it up, and decides to just roll with the subject change.]

Only today, Pegasus-san. [He resists the urge to rub at his bandaged arm. Thank god the hoodie still hides it.] What about you?

[Well, that certainly explained a few things. Still, not the very important matter of his being...shorter. Oh well. Pegasus was beginning to accept that there were just some things better left unexplained.]

Mm, I see. Well, about three months. Not that I'm especially happy about it, mind you! Oh, this dreadful place.

[Is it strange, Yuugi? Meeting the Creator of Duel Monsters!! Also don't let him see that wound or he might pull the mother hen act on you.]

Ah, three months?! That long?!

[Well he can see it now, because Yugi's reaction just involved sharply yanking it, which means he's now holding onto it tightly and resisting the urge to double over.]

[Poor thing the excitement was just getting to be too much for him but that kind of reaction has Pegasus startled.]

Ah...A-are you alright? What's wrong?

[Without even so much as permission he drew closer to the arm to inspect it. At the sight of that bandage he can see that the poor boy is injured.]

Oh...dear..Yuugi-boy, you've been cut here haven't you. I can see it's bleeding through the bandages...Have you been to the nurse's office? Come with me, we can get you some fresh bandages and some aspirin hopefully.

I'm okay!

[But Pegasus is then in his space and pushing up his arm and eep did he pull a stitch or something? He wasn't supposed to move his arm that much...]

Yes, she's the one who stitched it and bandaged it... [So much stinging, ow ow ow. Definitely popped a stitch...

And now he's being mothered. wat.]

U-Uh, okay, Pegasus-san...

[Well of course he wasn't going to just let one of his best duelists go running off like that, injured. There's no telling the kind of infection he might've gotten otherwise.]

Yes...Well, I'm sure she can fix you right up.

[Pegasus nodded before slowing his pace to walk with him towards the nurse's office.]

How did that happen?

[Well, at least he's being more friendly than Kaiba. Hopefully, the nurse wouldn't mind him being back after just a couple of hours... he promised he'd do his best not to tear it back open.]

Um... I just fell against something.

[Hopefully, Pegasus wouldn't get a look at the wound when it was treated... it's kind of hard to lie about obvious clean cut knife wounds.]

[Even from his tone it seemed a pretty weak excuse but he didn't have time to question him further. One look into his mind's eye however, and he saw the memory...the sudden flash of a knife from Bakura's hand.]

...H'oh. Well now. Yuugi-boy. I don't think it's hardly a good thing to go around lying when there's those who want to help you. I'd say a someone rather than a something did this.

[His smile darkened just a little, but he still moved with the boy down the corridor towards the nurse's office slowly, just to emphasize that there was no use hiding the truth from someone like him.]

[Wha... how did he guess so quickly?! Yugi is taken off guard and stutters a little, trying to come up with an excuse and... finding none. He's already a bad enough liar, it doesn't help when people notice it!]

...Ah, but, I don't remember anyone doing anything.

[Which is... mostly true. Bakura had sliced so face that, even though his memory says that's the only one it could have been (being behind him at the time), he isn't quite willing to accept that, and he doesn't remember anything after that flash of the knife. Just waking up with that cut, sitting at a table with a Go board between him and Ryou.]

[Oh, but Yuugi saw Bakura wield the knife...Surely he must have remembered enough to know who the culprit was. Or maybe this was a segmented memory.

How interesting. Pegasus, being aware of the Darker self inside Yuugi already found that even at this point that the "Other Yuugi-boy" must have been in his mind. It was a bit more difficult to read, and he couldn't quite grasp everything with the more innocent Yuugi at the forefront.]

That's partially a lie, Yuugi-boy. But no matter, clearly they need to be taught a lesson.

[By some miracle he'd avoided Bakura, though for...his own reasons. In any case he'll let Yuugi carry on in his denial because treating the injury was at this point much more important. He brought Yuugi to the nurse's office in no time, letting him go first.]

Huh?

[But then he's whisked off by the nurse, who's fussing once she sees that the bandages are bleeding heavily again. Back in the bed you go so she can stitch it back up!

Yugi is trying to twist his head around a little to get a look at the other man during all this.]

Um, thank you, Pegasus-san!

[He's grateful for the care, at least. He didn't expect it.]

[And here he'll just be sitting off to the side in plain sight, legs crossed. Already he was finding this sudden influx of people from his universe to be intriguing. Who would have thought that so many would be brought here?]

Oh~ It's no problem!

[After all, this little Yuugi was hardly the same as the one back home. And he obviously is just such a child that he can't take care of himself.]

[Thankfully, the numbing of his arm means that Pegasus doesn't have to hear Yugi wail and cry like a child on top of it, just an occasional wince at the stitches are taken out, the wound is cleaned, and then restitched.

...it's not the most he's been in a nurse's office yet. Maybe he should be more worried about that.

Once it's all done, the nurse shoves a drink and cookie in his hand to take just in case, then starts chattering about various ways to take care of the wound to Pegasus, apparently having assumed he was Yugi's caretaker.

Yugi, meanwhile, just eats his little snack obediently, looking like he's not sure how to interject.]

[Poor thing. Honestly he'd just have felt more sorry for him. Even after their duel it was difficult to feel any sort of grudge against him. He knew he'd been the one in the wrong, after all.

Pegasus of course had no issues with listening to her talk, smiling and nodding when appropriate at the young lady nurse with ease.]

Of course. I understand. No bathing permitted on the limb in question until the stitches are healed.

[First aid care of the stitches was easy enough, when it came down to it. Now that that was finished though he turned back to Yuugi, thinking on something for a moment before deciding to inquire a bit more about him and his situation here.]

Where are you rooming, Yuugi-boy?

[Well... that was nice, at least. Yugi hadn't expected Pegasus to actually care about knowing it, so when he's let off the bed he's already smiling a bit more than before.]

I'm in the West Dorms, by myself.

[It's a little lonely with how big it is, but he can't really complain. It's not like he wanted to bother Ryou about it or anything.]

What about you, Pegasus-san?

Oh? Already? Well, who are you rooming with?

[Is he going to hate the answer to that question? Because honestly if you're being foolish and rooming with someone dangerous he is going to have to lecture.

Not to say his rooming with Kaiba and Mokuba had been any different...But they'd disappeared.]

[Ah, did he phrase that weirdly? Whoops...]

I'm by myself. There's no one sharing the room with me at all.

[Is "completely alone when he probably wouldn't even suspect a zombie" good enough for lecturing?]

[Or he'd just missed it. Whoops!]

Alone...? Well. Ah...being as you have no one to look after those stitches of yours, I thought perhaps you wouldn't mind coming to my room for a little while.

If you like, that is. You really shouldn't be alone after all!

[Why was he proposing this? Honestly Pegasus isn't sure...Perhaps it was the guilt talking.]

[Ah... Yugi blinks for a moment, scratching his cheek. But then he smiles again, a relieved, almost flattered one.]

Ah, if that's okay, Pegasus-san... I wouldn't mind!

[He's never had a cut this bad before, so having someone else to help would be kind of nice...]
