[From just outside the jungle's trees, near the mountainside, some bickering can be heard:]

Here. It's probably fresher than you'd like, but it's all we have.
...I can't eat that, Bakura.
You don't have the option to be picky, Malik!
No...I really can't, you fool!
Tch... I can cook it a bit more, but we have to be careful, or the smoke from the fire will give us away!
Ughh...can't you find some fruit? Just look up.
Do you want to die? If someone finds you while I'm out looking for fruit, you'll have worse problems than having to eat meat.
But Bakura... [Malik sounds a bit like he might be ill.] My stomach...
O-oy! Hold on a little longer, okay? I'll see if I can find something close by. I'll stay within earshot, so if someone approaches, scream.
Just get a couple...I don't need that much.
Be quiet, you idiot. You need to eat something. [He chomps down on the meat Malik refused to eat.]
Well? I can't eat anything if you don't go get something!

That's right. Another dragon, to be precise. And Karasu-chan was already wounded. Until she's at full condition, it won't be easy for her to stand up to that guy.

[At her last comment, he grins wide, revealing the sharper incisors there.]

How kind of you.

What does he look like? [She bristles. Aisling may not have known Kasaru for long, but she does know that she likes her.]

I know. [She feels just a tad threatened by that, so in response, she shows her own sharp teeth.]

A man with short brown hair and blue eyes. There's two of them that look similar, but only one of them is dangerous. That's the one in the blue spiky armor who carries a sword. You may have noticed the ruined caves nearby. He doesn't seem to care a bit for the environment, that guy.

[The comment is given almost thoughtlessly, though there is a point to it. If that guy found them here, he'd probably burn the forest down just to make them come out.

Oh, that look suits you, little girl. He quite approves.]

[She makes a disgusted noise and leaps onto the trunk of the tree, clinging to the bark like some sort of lizard.]

He won't get into the forest. I won't let him. [Or she'll try not to, anyway. And likely fail, because she still has little linking herself to this place.]

[Heh. He had a feeling that comment would be the icing on the cake of distrust.]

Is that so? You must be pretty powerful, Aisling-chan.

I'll get the entire forest on my side. I don't like humans that destroy things for foolish reasons.

[Or any reason, really. And then oh look, there's a wolf sitting in front of you, teeth showing and tongue lolling.]

[Just humans? That gives him a loophole.

The sight of the wolf makes him double-take and step back, however.]

The entire forest... Do you mean the trees or the animals?

[She doesn't really think of there being other creatures around. Foolish, maybe, after meeting a dragon.]

[The wolf just nods. She's aiming for both, although who knows if he can tell that.]

[He can't, really. He just supposes she's being deliberately obtuse.]

[Have a wolfy sort of grin. She glances around and starts to waander off, losing interest, though she has an ear back in case he has anything else to tell her.]
