Joint Post! Like an Old Married Couple
[From just outside the jungle's trees, near the mountainside, some bickering can be heard:]
Here. It's probably fresher than you'd like, but it's all we have.
...I can't eat that, Bakura.
You don't have the option to be picky, Malik!
No...I really can't, you fool!
Tch... I can cook it a bit more, but we have to be careful, or the smoke from the fire will give us away!
Ughh...can't you find some fruit? Just look up.
Do you want to die? If someone finds you while I'm out looking for fruit, you'll have worse problems than having to eat meat.
But Bakura... [Malik sounds a bit like he might be ill.] My stomach...
O-oy! Hold on a little longer, okay? I'll see if I can find something close by. I'll stay within earshot, so if someone approaches, scream.
Just get a couple...I don't need that much.
Be quiet, you idiot. You need to eat something. [He chomps down on the meat Malik refused to eat.]
Well? I can't eat anything if you don't go get something!
((ooc: So! Tags will come from both Bakura and Malik. If we're going to tag you with both on a turn we'll put a "1/2" in the subject line, otherwise it's just one at a time. Also since the two of them are injured, we just ask that nobody with magic healing powers comes along to heal them up and stuff. Thanks!

/THREAD B (for redrosechose)
He tried waiting for Bakura to return, but the few fruits he had gathered earlier were already eaten to the pit. Malik was hungry, and didn't have much of a choice. It'd been a few days since his injury, and he could walk now..albeit still slow, and with a fair amount of pain.
But hunger overrode pain, and he didn't know when Bakura would be back; it was best to go out while he still had some energy. So, he left that mountain side crevice and hesitantly made his way to the jungle's edge to try and find a few stray fruits to eat.]

LATER...
We have something you want.
We'd like to negotiate a truce between the two of us and the four of you.
If you wish the Rose Cards back, then meet us in the entrance hall tonight at 18:00.
A smaller note is tacked onto the bottom, written in Bakura's handwriting.
Dear Eleanor. After that stunt you pulled, you're lucky I didn't incinerate them and just send you the ashes. Luckily for you, Malik is a fairly frightened sixteen year old boy.
-Bakura
Clearly Malik wasn't watching Bakura write these notes too closely.]

No healing magic here. Only fire.
stabhunt when the scent of a fire caught his attention. Seems like someone has the same idea he has and has already set up a temporary camp. He changes his direction and heads towards the fire when he catches the sound of voices, one of them very familiar. But...that kid? Out here? His sister was probably a better hunter then that Namu kid....This ought to be amusing.
Not bothering to hide himself, Caim walks up to the campsite. Yep, it was Namu all right, and some other pale kid, both looking rather worse for wear.]

~Two Days Later~
...It was boring, and Bakura had only visited him a couple times (when he was awake). But at least he got fed, and he didn't have to worry about being brutally murdered in his sleep.]
[Even with the minor annoyance of having been left mostly-alone, Malik couldn't help but be in a good mood. After six days of feeling miserable, weak, and exhausted, he was finally starting to feel like his usual self again.
And to make things even better, today he was being released! Malik still had a bit of a limp, but he made it back to his and Bakura's dorm well enough, and once there he lightly knocked on the door.]

September 10th
Right now he was stretched out on a chair with his feet on the table, rifling through the cards Judai had gotten him and debating what were the best ones to add to his deck.
He was bored, he had to admit. If it had been up to him, he'd already have the damn Rod back, but nooooo. Of course Malik had to be prepared for a comeback. Of course he'd want to use Ra, a card that was almost impossible to control. Of course that would take forever to work up to.
And of course Malik's damn motorcycle books were all over the place now. He'd had to kick three of them off the table just to put his feet up.
Speaking of Malik...
He could feel the eyes on his back from the doorway.]

Thankfully, it wasn't that hard. He just had to go up to him all "Hey, you lost this! Be more careful next time, okay?" and the little idiot took it back like nothing had ever happened. Now, keeping the Rod hidden under his trenchcoat, he returned to the apartment.]

~Back from the Underworld~ Sept. 15th
He knows...that he died.
He just knew, feeling amidst the muddled, distant memories of sitting, trembling on the cold stone floor as his soul was weighed against Maat's Feather of Truth. Just behind the scale, he could see the monster Ammit leering at him, drooling with hunger.
...It was back there on the grass, when he regained control of his body. He'd seen Bakura and the Rose Duelists there before everything became dark...and cold.
Now, the gash on his side and the two halves of that impalement wound had left vibrant, raised scars on his skin, like a constant mental reminder of the pain he'd suffered.
Those scars suggested he lived, that his soul weighing was only a feverish dream; the fact that he was here suggested he lived...and yet Malik still felt so certain of his own mortality.
Because he wasn't in any pain right now, and the nurse had said it'd only been a week since she last saw him.
Malik stretched a hand out to knock on the door to his dorm.]
