Tch... I can cook it a bit more, but we have to be careful, or the smoke from the fire will give us away!
Ughh...can't you find some fruit? Just look up.
Do you want to die? If someone finds you while I'm out looking for fruit, you'll have worse problems than having to eat meat.
But Bakura... [Malik sounds a bit like he might be ill.] My stomach...
O-oy! Hold on a little longer, okay? I'll see if I can find something close by. I'll stay within earshot, so if someone approaches, scream.
Just get a couple...I don't need that much.
Be quiet, you idiot. You need to eat something. [He chomps down on the meat Malik refused to eat.]

Well... [He starts, slowly trying to regain his composure.] ...it's not as if I permanently drove her away.

[Even if that had been his intention.]

[And finally Malik sees the point. He isn't sure whether he wants to shake him or punch him more.]

That's true. Thanks to my damage control, she thinks you're just a little paranoid.

She was injured in her arrival here. Attacked by some other creature on the way and crash-landed. Her injury and yours are actually rather similar... so you can see why it might be a problem. Rest assured... it's only a waiting game.

Besides, we need to get the Rod back before we can leave.

Tch, that's right... [They were essentially stranded until the Rod was back in his hands. Not that they weren't stranded before he had the Rod...but at least they could have left at the first chance they had.]

Do you have any idea how long it'll be until she's well?

From the looks of it, not too long. She seems to heal rather fast. But she's quite similar to Yugi and his friends. She'll wait as long as she has to for us.

As long as you don't antagonize her further.

[He draws the phrase out sarcastically, stretching out on the ground.]

No--was there anything else I should know? Other plans, maybe?

[Other plans... He has more goals than he does plans. Escape. Gathering the items. Teaching Malik a little respect. His final goal. Plans? Plans are changeable. They're nice to have, but easy to abandon. Bakura is an opportunist, not a planner. He absently grabs his knife and plays with it a little, looking thoughtful. He seems to be quiet for an annoyingly long time, as if he doesn't want to answer.]

Plans change. What of yours? I'll tell you if any of mine conflict.

[Malik's just about to impatiently urge an answer out of the other man when he finally speaks up.]

My only "plan" right now is to not get killed while recovering. But after that...I want to summon Ra, of course, and then kill Rosenkreuz and the Pharaoh with it.

Heheh... so you have no hidden plans at all? That's a surprise.

[Malik always seemed so sneaky.]

...I've been a little pre-occupied.

[Mostly with the whole not-dying thing. Malik could be an opportunist as well though; not all of his plans were thought out ahead of time, just the majority of them.]

Then let me ask you something hypothetical, Malik Ishtar! There are two Pharaohs on this island, we know that already. What if more come?

[After a brief pause of trying to figure out how to word himself, Malik continues.] Bakura, I think we can say for sure now that there's something...beyond our comprehension at work drawing these people in. I hate the Pharaoh that killed my father--none other!

[Again he pauses...this time tacking on one more sentence with an telling smirk.] ...But if the opportunity presents itself, I won't say that I'd refuse.

[That low chuckle sounds almost pleasant. Like he's not mocking, or being creepy, for once. Is the world ending?

He can't remember Malik ever mentioning the reason for his hatred before.]

Your father? Interesting... I can definitely agree with that way of thinking.

[It's only now that Malik realizes he might have said too much in his enthusiasm, but it was too late to worry now.
