[Event] It couldn't last forever.
[The lights going out had certainly surprised Henry, but he had been prepared for such a thing. He didn't fully understand the "electricity" that this place seemed to have, and thus, lacking that understanding, he had decided to prepare in case it disappeared.
Just like it had now.
Candles in that old-style holder and lit, Henry at least had some visibility despite the pressing darkness. Making sure to store away the others (at least after making sure Eleanor and Jack had ones themselves) he's started off into the Campus, looking for anyone lost in this darkness to help them find their way back to their dorms, or wherever else it was they wanted to go.]

[brb rifling through memories.]
I believe the 1600s. Pretty sure it was before or during the early parts of when the British Empire was a thing.
no subject
...British Empire, eh?]
I might have to take a look into this after all.
no subject
What? You mean you're actually curious about something? Henry, you're surprising me a lot tonight!
no subject
[Hell, he still has trouble actually cooking. At least he can make things that aren't poison anymore. Sort of.]
no subject
[...he sounds almost grandfatherly.]
no subject
Certainly, grandfather, I'll remember to do just that.
[You really make it too easy sometimes, Bakura. And he just can't resist the digs whenever you do. He doesn't actually have a lot of people he can verbally spar with; even Jack has to keep up appearances sometime.]
I'd like to, but I think Jack is still a bit skittish about letting me cook without him there to hold my hand. The first and only time I tried to make tea on my own, I nearly poisoned half the castle.
no subject
I may be old enough to be your ancestor, but I definitely had no affairs with the Pharaoh!
...
Maybe my host needs to teach you to cook. How do you poison tea?
no subject
[He remembers what Harriet said Malik was snarling in her mind, but there weren't exactly many details given out.]
I have no idea, but I managed it. [He laughs a little.] I wouldn't say no to those cooking lessons, myself. If something like this happens again, it'd be useful to be able to take care of myself.

[Folding his arms over his chest, he curls his legs up beneath him, looking every bit the picture of a thoughtful teenager.]
Ryou's always cooking. I don't have the patience. Hell, I still eat food raw most days.
no subject
You're far more a beast than I thought, then.
[It's not insulting, but not really complementary either. Mostly just an amused observation. But really... raw food? While it's understandable in a case where that's all you have access to, that's far from what's here and he worries a little about Ryou now. Note to self: take him to Lisa for regular checkups whenever he comes by without the Ring...
He does consider taking up the sort-of offer, though. It would be nice to learn how to cook, and he already knows Ryou is the kind to try to pay back anything given to him.
As for the Pharaoh...]
Is the resemblance really that severe?
no subject
[He takes the observation in his stride. He's never claimed to be anything else.]
It's like looking right at him. Even the eyes are similar... though his are more purple.
no subject
And it seems Christopher and Jounouchi were close to each other as well. What an odd throw of the dice.]
What an interesting trait, then. [Even if it's not really helpful except to avoid the main misunderstandings, it's something.] I wonder why that is?
no subject
no subject
This seems a little beyond the skills -- or intentions -- of a simple wizard.
no subject
[He's quite clearly teasing.]
no subject
[Which means Henry is happy to shoot back the same.]

no subject
Oy! I may use magic, but I'm no pathetic magician!
no subject
Then what are you?
no subject
I'm just a simple thief. Is that so hard to believe?
no subject
[Well...]
That makes a bit more sense than a magician, actually. Not too hard to believe at all.
no subject
I should hope so! I really hate magicians.
no subject
[...and suddenly, Henry shifts his shoulder a bit, glancing over to give the building a skeptical look.]
...
[SIGH.]
Harriet and Jack are fighting again.
no subject
[It's utterly deadpan.]
