[The buzzing of an intercom coming to life that you've all undoubtedly have come to know and love can be heard throughout the entire campus again.]

For the record, 'property damage' includes smashing the intercoms I've so graciously provided you all with as a means to communicate with me. In case you hadn't realized.

[She clears her throat.]

Now then, I hope that little blackout didn't keep you all from being productive. Sharpen those minds!

[Indeed she does; that's new to him. He's seen and even worked with a wide variety of creatures, but none of the ones he's familiar with looked quite so much like human beings.

As for that explanation... some of the terminology is strange to him, but he gets the gist.] I'm familiar with the basic concept. As far as I know, though, we don't have anything quite like her where I come from.

[He's not only talking about her looks; it's rare to find creatures as intelligent as humans on Velgarth. Companions and dyelhi. Some of the Tayledras bond-birds, maybe. There are tales of others, but as far as he knows, that's all they are.]

I wouldn't be surprised -- few worlds seem to, though there's a lot from the world I originate from here... if not exactly the same time frame.

[His breath caught now, Henry takes up the sword as Lyna waves goodbye and disappears.]

Now then... shall we?

[[He gives Lyna a bit of a wave in return, and when Henry takes up his sword, Vanyel draws his in a single fluid motion, and his stance changes subtly - more alert and more balanced, ready to defend or attack as needed.]

I'm ready when you are.

[It's a milder remark than any he'd have thrown at, say, Tantras; though the other man has been friendly so far, Vanyel knows better than to presume to treat Henry like just another Herald.]

[Henry's stance is a bit cautious as well, examining Vanyel's carefully. After a moment, he goes for a strike, quick and agile rather than direct and powerful.

He doesn't have the frame to do, say, bone-shattering strikes like Christopher does, so he's had to rely on something a bit less head on.]

Lady Bright, he is quick! Lucky for Vanyel that he's taken to sparring with Medren lately.

He manages to block that strike and ducks to the side, then retaliates with a strike of his own which veers low at the last minute as he tries to catch Henry's leg with the flat of the blade and unbalance him a little.]
