[The buzzing of an intercom coming to life that you've all undoubtedly have come to know and love can be heard throughout the entire campus again.]

For the record, 'property damage' includes smashing the intercoms I've so graciously provided you all with as a means to communicate with me. In case you hadn't realized.

[She clears her throat.]

Now then, I hope that little blackout didn't keep you all from being productive. Sharpen those minds!

[ Snake was startled by the buzzing of the intercom and turned to look at one of the boxes. He tilted his head somewhat before moving closer, pressing the button hesitantly. ]


...

Hello...?

[intercom_voice]

[There's a brief moment of silence before a response.]

How may I help you?

Who are you?

[ He's never heard her voice before... Was this the intercom lady he'd heard about? ]

So that was your doing, then? Are you the one who brought us here?

How very observant of you.

I ask why, then. For what purpose were we gathered?

[His voice is polite, the voice of a king used to dealing with tense situations.]

[Malik had a lot on his mind lately. Not least of which was the alter ego gnawing at his subconscious; he'd taken over twice now. It was frightening to know that at any minute, if he was too weak...he could lose his mind and body forever.

Right now, he was just trying to distract himself from those thoughts. The heat outside was more pleasant to him than the air inside, and so he sat at the very edge of the beach with the water lapping at his waist and soaking the shorts and tanktop he'd decided to wear today.

And of course the Rod was there, hooked securely on his belt as always.]

[Though Roy hated being outside when he first arrived, after the paranoia of being randomly ambushed subsided it grew on him. Especially the beach. It was a nice change of pace from the rocky sand littered with rusted tin cans and broken glass, and all that murky water filled with radiation and mirelurks.

Which is why he was strolling alongside the shore now, his jumpsuit pulled down to his waist so the arms could be tied around his hips (even with other cloths available, Roy still finds himself routinely cleaning this vault suit as much as he can and wearing it anyway). When he spots that cute guy whose name he can't seem to remember, he calls out to him as he draws nearer.]

[Malik is pulled from his thoughts when he hears a voice, but when he looks over at Roy...

He doesn't recognize him. That was well over a month ago now, and Malik hadn't exactly committed him to memory.]

Do I know you? [There's a hint of a condescending tone.]

[Harriet was out foraging with Rosenkreuz, using it as an excuse to pull information from him about the Rod. When they were heading back in, she looked out a window and noticed Malik on his way to the beach...

Well, she could just make an excuse to go down there herself. Though it meant she had to wear her own swimsuit as camouflage. Totally. Not because the surf looked pretty inviting. .... Though a surfboard would also be good camouflage.

So one trip to the sports wing later, and she's showing up in a wetsuit.]

... Oh, it's you. We should talk.

... [Harriet was not who he wanted to see right now. He gives her a cursory glance, or at least intends to, but instead ends up staring at her bizarre outfit for a minute before turning his gaze back to the surf.]

Maybe later. I'm not in the mood. [Had she been thinking about his offer? That was good, but if she was thinking about it that much to approach him, then it can wait. If anything, the wait will be good and build up her anxiousness.]

Malik.

[It's a polite, but distant greeting. Henry's come out himself, though it's more for a bit of training than actual relaxing.]

... [Not exactly who he wanted to see. Malik's still not sure how to feel about this man, so he nods politely back, although his eyes remain elsewhere.]

Henry.

[He stared out at the water's edge until Malik came into view, Pegasus blinking as he came out of his thoughts. The beach was a bit of a habitual haunt for him now that the barrier had been lifted, but still it was a bit of a surprise to see him out in the open like this.

He recognized the boy based on his description from Ishizu, and the fact that his gaze took in the Rod almost instantly, as if by instinct...So pardon him while he's standing several feet away, blatantly staring.]

[Those of you wandering around the beach may notice the skinny red head being washed upon the shore. He appears to be out cold at first, up until he starts to cough up ocean water. He's awfully quick to get back to his feat, stumbling slightly but seemingly unharmed.

Once he's straightened himself out he looks out towards the ocean, a hand over his eyes to shield them from the sun.]

I lost the raft...[He sighs dejectedly, lowering his arm.]

[Those who wander enough outside might see a bit of an interesting sight. Henry's been feeling a bit too tense and idle lately, especially with the irritation that came from that intercom lady, so he's set himself up out here, a bit away from where most would usually idle around, to practice.

Strikes and parries and slashes, Henry is dueling with an invisible opponent. The sword's blade gleams occasionally in the light, moving so smoothly it's like an extension of his arm. He's been trying to keep up with at least some practice, but the anger he currently feels is pushing him to go completely all out against whatever enemy he's imagining, until his breath is short and he's sweating.]

[a slow clap sounds from somewhere off to the side.]

Such passionate exertion. Had I only known your greatest foe was the air, I wouldn't have bothered taking a duelist from you in the war.

[His hand rests on his sword. Perhaps you'd like a real opponent, King?]

[Interesting... Henry's expression is fierce and the non-existent opponent he's facing would surely have been torn to shreds by now. It's less like watching someone wield a weapon than it is seeing natural movements. How long has it been since he's seen anyone wield such a thing?]

Don't you usually need an opponent to do that?

[Vanyel's been spending rather more time outside than in, since the power outage, flinging everything he can think of at the wards surrounding the island to try and find weak spots, trying to feel out the node or heartstone that powers them... but even he has to eat sometimes.

He's on his way back from foraging in the home economics room -while he could hunt, the offerings there generally take far less time and effort to prepare, which means he can get back to work that much more quickly- when he spots the other man at practice and pauses to watch.

He notes the speed and power behind those strikes, the economy of movement in that form, and chides himself. You could stand to do a bit more practicing yourself, Herald. Wouldn't do to get home and find you've gone soft.]

[Sup, Campus, have a cute little robot just sitting on the AC unit on the roof.]

[The beach was one of those places where Pegasus felt himself drawn to frequently, his love of the sun and of the bright tropical waters a small comfort in recent months since the barrier had been lifted. He wasn't the kind of man to go on this long without having some kind of big project in his life to keep him preoccupied, and while he had a few things...it wasn't the same as being the illustrious CEO of Industrial Illusions.

Pegasus did appreciate the slower lifestyle in his own way, but he was beginning to think there wasn't any way to leave and they were going to be stranded here far longer than they'd originally anticipated.

Out of restlessness or frustration he let himself wander out a bit further to a part of the beach where large rocks were scattered in the sand here and there, close to where the cliffside was along with a few caves carved naturally into its surface.

He heaved a heavy sigh as he walked barefoot on the white sands, staring out listlessly at the ocean. The breeze stirred his silvery hair slightly enough that he had to tuck it back from being in front of his vision. At least being alone like this gave him time to think...]

[Yugi had been feeling a little stir-crazy himself, so that's why he'd gotten a swimsuit and started playing around on the beach. The problem with this, of course, came from the fact, that tiny boy + ocean wasn't really a good mix.

What does that mean?]

[It means there's a tiny high schooler being dragged out by the tide.]

[Harriet was continuing her surfing from before, when she sees this little kid being washed away. She yells]

Oy! Can't you swim!?

[Can't ANYONE swim in this place!? Seriously--

She'll start heading toward him in case she needs to rescue him]
