Duel 002: Peaceful Days! The Fluffiest Training Montage Commences

[It's a bit of a pain, being in a school with no teachers.

Ryou Bakura isn't the type of kid who really likes being too active; he's about on the level of most ordinary teenagers. But after being laid up for so long with the burns to his arms and leg, not only is he extremely restless, but he's sure even his metabolism won't hold up much longer, with the amount he eats. That's why, after checking to see that Henry isn't home to take him up on that training offer, he's decided to try treating this like school and taking an hour or so to do his very own gym class, all by himself. It'd be easier with teachers, but... he doesn't have a choice right now.

Most kids probably would just take the break and be lazy, but right now, Ryou's working hard. Apart from the occasional break, he can be found pretty easily in the east wing, dressed in gym clothes and doing everything from running laps on the track field to climbing ropes.

...though that last one is more like 'falling off ropes'. Stupid mats... they don't cushion that fall at all. Hopefully nobody's dumb enough to stand below him.]

Ow...

[Time for a banana and some water, he thinks.]

Ah, I'm so tired...

[Oh Bakura... you really shouldn't have said that. Even if Ryou does get the Ring off now, he may just grab it, because that's a whole ocean of questions you're being hammered with.]

Sorry! But it's great! I've never even gotten to see the Battle City DVD, it's great talking to someone who saw Duelist Kingdom and was a PART of it!]

[It wasn't as exciting as Battle City, but it was pretty entertaining in its own right.

If you have questions, just keep them to one or two at a time. I can't focus on twenty.]

[Judai manages to at least limit his questions to one at a time, but that doesn't cut down the actual amount of them. In the waking world, his hands have closed tightly around the Ring so that Ryou can't get it away from him, too engrossed in his questioning.

The more Bakura stays present in Judai's soul room, however, the more it feels like there's something hidden here, just below the surface of this cheery room.]

[This twisted feeling only grows... But he answers the questions willingly, albeit avoiding parts that point out his wicked nature too readily. But eventually, after an hour of Ryou worrying, he decides to give him some mercy.

...at least partly because he himself is getting pissed off.

...I think that's enough for now.]

[Awww.

But with Bakura having played along for so long, Judai seems satisfied enough. It's like shaking off a weird coil of half sleep as he releases his grip on the Ring, shifting and stretching with a loud yawn.]

Whoo... why do I feel stiff?

Y...you were standing still for more than an hour...

[Ryou needs to sit down with relief, the Ring lifting to loop over his neck as he does.]

Ah, yeah? I was talking to Bakura!

[He stands up, stretching and trying to work out the kinks in his body.]

I think he was walking around in my soul or something.

Y... you could have said something. I was scared stiff!

Heh... sorry about that! I guess I got caught up with it.

It's fine... I'm just glad you're okay. Blanking out like that is a little weird, after all.

I'll make sure to let you know if I do that again! [Judai smiles brightly, nodding.] Promise!

I'll hold you to that. Well, did you get the drink you wanted, at least?

...Uh. Nope!

[Well that explains why his mouth's burning... besides, you know, the busted lip he got from the Ring hitting him full on in the mouth.]

[Sigh. He offers him a napkin for his lip as he gets him some ice to chill the soda.]

[He wipes his mouth off, cringing a little. That kinda hurt...]

So, does that thing usually fly out of the freezer?

It'll fly sometimes... but not often. But I warned you, remember? I locked it away in there while I was training so I wouldn't get distracted.

I guess he really wanted to come out. It must have been cold in there.

...Whoops. I forgot about that!

[At least it hit him in the head. There's not much left there to lose.]

It was probably pretty cold, though... can he feel cold like that?

Who knows? He doesn't talk to me much. But he seems annoyed, so probably.

Well, he sounded it when he started talking to me at first, too.

He's a pretty grouchy guy, isn't he?

Pretty much! Maybe he's not dueling enough, if he's that grouchy!

...then again, Jun was always pretty grouchy too. Maybe he just needs some good duels!

Aha...ha... I don't think he's duelled that many people for a while.

[Do you really think this kid is capable of something even with that degree of subtlety?]

Well, I'll have to give it to him, then! Maybe then he can be a lot less grouchy!
