CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

You think so? It feels like it's just trouble, lately...

[He rests a hand on her shoulder, even if she can't feel it.]

Now, now... It's always like that with weird powers, you know? It's scary, but if you hide away from it, it'll feel like a shadow hovering over you.

Well, it's kind of hard not to here. There's not a lot of space and I don't want to hurt anyone. But that's why Bakura-kun is such a good friend of mine... he doesn't care about that part. He isn't afraid of it.

[fluffydeathdealer]

But, see, that's part of the hiding away. If you're always worrying about hurting other people, it'll give that fear strength.

[He scolds her lightly, before patting her on the shoulder again and floating back.]

It's like with any skill! If you keep thinking of how you might mess up with it, you're going to mess up and you're going to feel guiltier for it. It's better to just keep trying until you can control it entirely.

[Did... she really just get scolded by a ghost? She blinks a little, looking at Bakura confusedly as if she's not sure what to think about that.

...Ah, but...]

I guess you're right... Bakura-kun, you can help me with that, at least... can't you?

[Bakura just looks amused. Oh, Ryou... you're the only person he knows who would scold a dragon.]

Yeah, I can. If we can get your dragon form and your human form in sync, so to speak, it shouldn't be too difficult to keep control over it.

[moderndaydragon]

"In sync?" What do you mean?

[fluffydeathdealer]

Your dragon form drops into instinct too easily, right? That's why you were scared. But instincts can be un-learnt, so to speak. If we can get your dragon form used to thinking like the normal you, then it might be able to undo those defensive traits.

[moderndaydragon]

It's true that even if I'm still "awake" when I change, I feel those instincts... do you think we can really get rid of them just like that?

[fluffydeathdealer]

It won't be an instantaneous thing, that's for sure, but people learn ways to overcome their instincts all the time.

Then... I'm counting on your help, Bakura-kun! I know I can do it with you!

[Ignoring Ryou's silent 'wtf' expression behind Karasu's back, Bakura just grins happily.]

Of course! Leave it to me! I'll help you any way I can.

[Karasu stretches a little, rubbing her arms again as she tries to retrace her steps. Where was that little alcove thing...

[He follows her, looking around and trying to memorize the location. It's not too open, that's for sure. Ryou keeps looking around as if out of paranoia.]

This way? It doesn't look like too bad of a route.

Yeah. This is the only place I can think of that might be easy to block off or fight in but can still let you get out.

Kind of close to the water, though.

That's a bonus, actually. I don't think my foe can swim. Water's going to be a problem, though... We can't drink sea water. Just gonna have to keep trailing down to the streams if we get thirsty.

There should be one at least in walking distance. There's not too many caves around here, though, so I might have to fly more than I thought to bring whatever you guys need over here.

[The wind sends a chill through him and his hair is pulled at relentlessly by it. Lifting a hand, he holds it out of his face and turns to cast his eye over the view around them, seeking out blind spots.]

It might not be a long-lasting thing. Once you've gotten settled somewhere, we can scout out the area around where you are for potential relocation spots. It's best to keep moving every so often anyway. This is a small island after all.

I guess that's true enough. Are you sure Malik won't mind being that close, though?

I don't give a shit if he does. I'm more concerned about keeping him safe than anything else... though there's no reason for him to be in any danger right now.

[moderndaydragon]

Fair enough.

[Though can she really protect the two of them? She wonders a little. But if nothing else, she'll do her best.

As it is, the wind causes her to shiver again and she grumbles a little, rubbing her arms.]

I really hope the sun comes up soon.

Got any idea what time it is? I left my watch in the building. Feels like I've been wandering this damn place for hours already.

Well, if nothing else, I can watch the sunrise again.

Not a clue. I'm no good at telling time either, especially not when I'm woken up in the middle of the night.

[Mrrr. She rubs her arms again.]

I'll go see about finding somewhere to stay for now. If just because getting out of the wind would be nice.

I can tell the time from the shadows of the sun, but that's no good at night. Maybe if we set up a water clock or something...
