CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[The sudden chill -and the contrast between soft mattress and rough stone- is more than enough to wake Vanyel; he's always been a fairly light sleeper, and long experience has taught him that such sudden changes in his environment usually signal the start of an attack.

He prowled the perimeter of stone foundation for a few minutes, trying to discern if what he's experiencing is some sort of illusion, or if the building really has inexplicably vanished. All magic touches all other magic, so if there's an illusion at work here he ought to be able to sense it, if not break it. But even to his Mage-Sight, there's simply nothing there. It's eerie, and more than a little worrisome.

But for now, he has more immediate concerns. He's long since gotten into the habit of sleeping more or less fully clothed -at the moment, he's only missing his doublet and boots- so he's better off than most in that regard. But it's still cold, and he has no intention of building a fire or falling asleep out in the open.

Which is how he ends up picking his way through the forest with the aid of a small mage-light, heading for the campsite he's been half living at while he tries to unravel the wards surrounding the island.]
