MINGLE: What's that in the sky? It's a bird, it's a plane--no, it's Malik up to his usual shit.
[For anybody awake mid-afternoon on the 22nd, outside or caring enough to look at their windows, they might notice a blinding light accompanied by the sudden appearance of a God.
It seems to be one hell of an escape attempt, the golden dragon's wings splayed wide as it sent forth a seemingly never ending stream of fire towards the sky. But something stopped it, an invisible wall of sorts, curling those flames back as if hitting the inside of glass dome. The great beast stops after awhile, starts again, and then disappears in the same bright flash from whence it came.
Pinpointing a location is hard, but whoever seems to have brought the creature about appears to have been at the cliff side behind the school. Of course, they were long gone by the time anybody got there... ]
((ooc: so, this is basically a reaction mingle, for anybody who's interested! since the event would be visible to anybody who cared to look. tag around with each other and so on~ Malik, Harriet, and Bakura won't be around the area anymore, but they still might tag around depending, and the odds are greater if it's a post-summoning starter, since they'll be back in the school a little while after.))

Jack refills the mug, sitting beside Henry and offering him the second cup.]
All things have a weakness. That creature may be considered a God, but even it must have a flaw.
no subject
Just your presence, Mahad... that's enough for now.]
Only God is truly without a flaw... and He would not descend in such a manner.
[He takes a slower drink this time, the first cup mixing with Jack's presence and Mahad's feeling to bring him back to his senses.]
Perhaps something in recorded mythology for Egypt...? Or perhaps Mahad would know...
[Right now, even if it's important, he really doesn't want to think about it. Even if imagining the creature doesn't cause those chills to return right now, it's the last thing he wants to weigh on his mind... but that's precisely why they needed to do so.]
At the least, we know raw power is unlikely to work. Rosenkreuz's attempt -- [He takes a slow breath, closing his eyes and tightening his grip on the cup.] -- went less than well.
no subject
I did bring some books on the subject in after last time... but I admit I haven't been studying them as I should, with the presence of the truce.
[Rosenkreuz's attempt... heh. He remembers that. It's like it's burnt into his memory.]
no subject
He opens his mouth, but only a sigh issues out as he lays back down, resting the cup on his chest. The leader part of him is pushing to continue the discussion, to tell Jack to get the books, to call Mahad to discuss it, to have a plan here and now.
But the part of him that's just Henry, the part that's been the most enabled by this place, has no intention of dealing with that now. The hours with Ryou and Bakura, that strange monster that Bakura chose, and the shadow of Ra hanging over him all day has left him in a simple state.]
I'm tired, Jack...
[His sleep, he suspects, will not be as deep and relaxed as before, not until they have a plan to handle Ra. But he knows that plan could take any length of time.
For now... his fingers move down to trace the rosary still hidden under his armor. No... it's not just those things, not just Ra, that has him like this. Ra's presence, that display... it made one thing clear, and reminded him so cruelly of the result.]
Even it couldn't break the barrier. If it couldn't even leave a mark, what hope does any power we possess have? How long will we stay here? Is this how it feels, to be a prisoner? To be locked in one place for so long that even a palace feels like a cell?
[He has Jack. He has Mahad. He has Ryou and Harriet. Even Rosenkreuz and Eleanor. And the others here that came and went always ensured that there would be someone new to talk to eventually.
It's an anchor, something to hold onto to avoid going insane from the situation. But in the end...]
I miss England.

[Getting up, he takes the time to take his armor off in favour of the clothes he wears underneath, speaking candidly as he does.]
We all do, Henry. I'm sure of that.
[Cuirass off, he looks a little more ordinary, though his red shirt is looking a little less red and a little more pink thanks to him still having trouble with the concept of 'whites go separate'.]
This is a prison, it cannot be denied. We are no more free here than we are there, though it may appear otherwise.
[Cuisse, then sabaton... And with his armor finally removed, he looks so much smaller, despite the muscle. Shaking his head to let his hair out, he sets the armor aside and sinks down beside Henry, drawing him into his arms as if he were a parent and Henry just a child.]
Rest, if you need to. We may have no way out as of yet... but keep your hope. You of all people know that force is not the only option. Only the most direct.
Remember that God does not place more upon us than we can handle.

He starts a little when Jack pulls him over, but relaxes, resting his head against the other man and closing his eyes. The warmth from Jack... the warmth from Mahad...
It almost does feel like he's a child again, being cradled after some nightmare.]
...That he does not...
[That's right... God worked in mysterious ways, tested faith in even more mysterious ones, and was not on a level a simple creation of his could comprehend. Henry's arms go around Jack lightly, the king's breathing slowing and soft.]
Thank you, Jack... for presence, comfort... and the voice of reason.
no subject
...It hurts his heart a little, that thought. If the past could not be changed... he never would get to hold that child of his again, would he? The same went if they never left here.
His arms tighten just slightly around Henry as he stares off into space.]
It's my pleasure, my dearest friend. You are not alone here... rest assured.
no subject
Ah... Jack had been a revolutionary... had he experienced this before?]
You're right, after all... there is some way of leaving... and we'll find it. We'll find it... and I'll bring you back with us... even if I have to fight Satan himself...
[So tired... and so warm... Henry's eyes shut and he begins to breathe evenly, his body relaxing fully as the contact and presence ensure those nightmares are chased away for the moment.]
no subject
[Heh. Oh, Henry. He hopes you're right. He really does. He'll hold you as long as he needs to in order to keep those nightmares at bay.
...and while he's at it, he needs a distraction, so he'll just be reading one of those books while he holds him. Good thing he left the bag right next to the couch.]
no subject
England... his mother... the Cade family... Jack... Christopher... the Lancastrians... the Yorkists... Eleanor and Harriet... Rosenkreuz... Ryou...
Fragments of a puzzle that makes a picture he doesn't know, that fit together in a way that he doesn't understand. And yet... even mournful, it isn't unpleasant... those on the pictures are many of whom he cares for, so it just takes careful time...]
Mn...
[Henry is mostly stirred by the rather fierce growling of his stomach. Ah... that's right... he hasn't eaten anything at all since before Ra showed up...
How long has that been now? How long was he out? He shifts a little, the hold reminding him of where he is and electing a smile.]
Good morning, Jack... or is it even morning...?
no subject
Well, everyone got an early morning wake-up call this morning courtesy of our little Egyptian idiot, so I guess so. I don't think you slept too late, though I'm impressed you slept through it.
no subject
Ra attempted the barrier again, did he... was there any change?
no subject
[He didn't fancy being Malik... Setting his book aside, he regarded Henry with a fond look.]
No change this time. Though I'm sure he'll keep trying.
no subject
[He turns a smile to Jack, a little bit reserved but definitely stronger. Somewhat reluctantly, he shifts himself out of Jack's arms, stretching and feeling a few of his joints pop. Mmm...]
I think I might need something to eat before I pass out for a completely different reason. If it's morning, that means I've gone nearly a full day without a thing to eat or drink...
no subject
[Right, food. He gets up, heading over to the kitchen.]
If you're as hungry as all that, I might as well put the entire packet of bacon on.
no subject
That might be the wisest idea, if you want any!
no subject
[He teases because he cares, Henry.]
no subject
Who was the one who decided to cradle me, hm?
no subject
[He grins broadly.]
no subject
Well, you were right. Even if my dreams were strange, they were hardly unpleasant.
no subject
no subject
[His voice is fond even despite the teasing. That is something they probably shouldn't make a habit of, but it helps, in this place where that king side of him had little to grasp on and the human one came out more often than not.]
I wonder what Harriet thought when she saw it.
no subject
[The other part makes him laugh slightly, shaking his head.]
Highness... If I act like a father, that's because I am a father.
no subject
[It's not a reprimand or anything, more just a somewhat thoughtful reply, as Henry's mind briefly wanders to that blood-father of his. Such a man...
He blows out a little air, running a hand through his head.]
When we get out of here, I would like to spend some time with your family again.
no subject
That father of yours was neither truly man nor father.
[Jack's voice is filled with scorn, as though reading Henry's mind.]
You would be welcome, I'm sure.
