ANNOUNCEMENT 008
[Oddly enough, the woman who usually pipes in over the speakers at least once a month hasn't shown her face--figuratively speaking--this month at all. However, there is a dull static that pours forth from all the speakers today. It is an unending, but bearable white noise.]
Speak to the Voice...?
General Mingle
General Mingle
IT'S COOL.
Oh, I'm not talking about the building.
[ He leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees, the front legs of the chair snapping flat against the floor. ]
What I'd pay to see is you trying to get off the island.
yayyy
It's only a matter of time. That "barrier" has to have its holes.
no subject
[ Jason straightens his back and shrugs. ]
But hey. Learn by doing, right?
no subject
[He's confident if anything, and Jason's constant inclination to doubt him is annoying. But Bakura knows he'll prove him wrong...he just needs more time. As always, he just needs time.]
But you have one thing right... You can't learn if you don't try, and you can't succeed if you don't learn!
[The only problem is this barrier might be technology far out of his grasp, or even magic. Of course, just because he has doubts doesn't mean he has to admit them! Only a fool would do that!]
My turn to apologize!
I doubt people want to see your mug plastered everywhere so yeah, I'd say that's a good thing. Thanks for the pep-talk though.
I will use your apology to replenish my supply
And I don't just give these things for free you know. Pay up! [It's not so obvious now. Bakura sounds pretty serious.]

That's right. If you're capable, you don't need to rely on anybody else to give you what you want. You can just take it yourself.
no subject
Of course. So now that we're just talking in circles, how 'bout a name?
no subject
...Bakura.
no subject
[ He's been operating as Red Hood for months, never really taking any down time so it's strange to be using his given name again. Bruce'd frown on it but who cares? There aren't any fingerprints on file; he's also been legally dead for years. ]
You make a habit out of flashing your spirit to people, Bakura, or am I just a special occasion?
no subject
[Bakura laughs again, and then finally calms. The occasional little laugh still slips past him.]
I saw an opportunity, and I took it!
no subject
Most people that bare their souls don't do it quite so literally. Or with men they just met.
no subject
[The sarcasm is nearly palpable in his voice.]
no subject
[ Jason matches his tone as he hooks his thumbs into the corner of his pockets. ]
I can tell you right now that if I wanted to say that, I wouldn't beat around the bush.
no subject
[Bakura sounds less sarcastic that time.] So you were just trying to imply it then, is that what you're saying? Too bad! I'll do whatever I want! Try not to get your loincloth in a knot over it!
[He points down at Jason's crotch, not really moving his hand as he does and just extending the finger.]
Assuming you wear any. I don't know how you future-people work.
[He sure as shit doesn't wear any underwear. Jason should consider himself like he hasn't found that out first hand. Yet.]
no subject
Loincloths aren't really 'in' these days. Good try though.
no subject
[He opens his arms, gesturing at their surroundings.] I can't say that about much else, eh?
no subject
[ A beat. ]
Though, for the record, we have something called underwear.
no subject
Even I could have come up with a better name.
no subject
Gets the point across.
no subject
[There's a tint of humour in his voice.] But I don't really care what you future-people call what you wear on your dicks anyway.

[ Thinking and talking about some dude's junk isn't really high on the list of Things Jason Likes To Talk About; however, the chatter back and forth is allowing Jason to consider multiple options in the task of getting his kris back. It isn't something calling for immediate action and he's never been one to really hold onto material things - great to have them, he can live without them - but he wouldn't be against getting this particular piece back. ]
