[Kai's managed to dig up at least two books on memories, but they aren't as simple as 'How to recover lost memories in five easy steps'. The books he's found look to be similar to the spellbooks he's studying from, and that means he's definitely going to need Karasu's help going through them. Even if they find something useful, he wouldn't dare try to cast anything on her; he's hoping it'll at least point them in the right direction. Kai has a sneaking suspicion the Creeper's involved in the mess somewhere, just based on what Karasu had told him.
Honestly, if it weren't for Ryou...
Kai takes another bite of his carrot stick and glances over at the closed bedroom door from where he's sprawled on the couch, flipping through pages. He'd put Surge in just a while ago, and so far the big Labrador's being as quiet as a mouse.]

...
[He'd realized somewhere along the line that Bakura was epic levels of batshit insane, but this takes the cake, honestly. Instead of responding, Kai brings his hand up to cover the wound on his arm, casting Cure. The familiar green light settles over it, slowly knitting things back together. Kai scowls as it only manages to close the worst of it; he's still bleeding enough to warrant a visit to the nurse.]
Look at the tear in the sleeve...You wrecked my favorite hoodie.
[Yep, stabbed in the arm and he's being taunted, and that's what he's seemingly worried about.]

[What a fool. Getting up off the ground, he frowns at Kai. That was right... The kid had been working on healing, hadn't he? Karasu had mentioned that.]
How boring! Next time I'll shred the whole thing!
no subject
Whatever. Why don't you go away now, huh? Ought to make sure you don't have a concussion or something.
[If Bakura does head for the nurse, Kai'll just go bandage himself up and go later, good idea or not.]
no subject
[Getting up off the ground, he turns his back on Kai, starting back towards Karasu's dormitory. Come to think of it, his head does hurt a little. Oh well. That was fun. He waves carelessly without turning around, as casually as if they'd just been talking.]
Later. I'll get you back for that some other time.
no subject
Hm. He'll have to be better prepared next time. He shakes his head and scoops the remains of the recorder off the floor before he heads for the nurse's office.]
no subject
Oh! Bakura-kun!
no subject
[Using Ryou's nickname for her in a friendly manner, he pushes past her to head into her apartment, sinking down onto the couch there.]
How did the reading go?
no subject
[She closes the door, going to sit by him.]
Everything okay? There was some really weird noises out in the hall.
no subject
[With her there, he moves fluidly to the side, straddling her legs and sitting there, staring down at her. Almost leisurely, he leans in close to stare at her eyes. They're so blue...]
Hey, Karasu... Do you love him? Kai-kun, that is...

...Hell, she almost feels like she's about to be hypnotized or something, with the way he's staring into her eyes like this.]
U-Uh...
[...Question! Right. That... that question.]
...I really like Kai-kun, but the darkness part... it frightens me. It just feels all sorts of wrong. But he said he had it under control... and he's shown me things he has that are light, as well.
[But even with the proof of light, the idea of that darkness just... feels wrong. This isn't something simple like Light vs Dark -- some of her Samurai are dark element, but that sort of "darkness" never bothered her. In that case, it was just another element, no different from fire or wind or earth.
But in this case... that corridor...]
...I don't know.

[The Ring jingles, resting against her chest. In this situation, he can't afford to relax, though his head is hurting terribly.
Her words just piss him off even more. It's like they're amplifying his headache. That stupid kid... how dare he make his pet feel like this towards him? It's burning... the rage is burning inside of him.]
I see... Then Karasu-chan... do something for me?
no subject
Go to sleep.
no subject
[She looks down at feeling the Ring against her chest, almost absent-mindedly going to run her fingers over the gold. She can't help it... it's really an interesting relic!
Her attention shifts back up at the request, and just as she opens her mouth to reply, the glow and that command go through.]
Ah...
[She slips into sleep quickly, her head falling onto her shoulder as her hands drop to her sides.]

Focusing, he reaches inside of her memories, the energy from the Ring seizing her, drawing into her and feeling them out. The memories he wanted to bury the most were buried as deep as he could get them, covered up where possible. It wasn't perfect, but it was the most he could do.
His messing with her soul, the knowledge of what he'd done to make Kai mad about the picture, and the sounds outside were all buried. The knowledge of their fight was buried too, but more shallowly; it was fine if she remembered he'd gotten hurt. Kai would surely be too concerned to reveal his own injury and he could never prove it was him. Especially after using healing magic on it.
But there was something else he wanted to bury. Something more important.
That confession of Kai's... even if it'll come out eventually, he wants to bury it deep for now. He can't bury her feelings, but that memory... he hates it.
Once he's done, he feels exhaustion tint him, though it can't have been long. Rolling off of her, he curls up against her side and rests his head on her chest boldly. Ugh... his head won't stop pounding.]
Oi... Sleeping Beauty. Time to wake up.
[Karasu looks so relaxed, it's almost a shame to wake her.]
If you don't, I'm going to go to sleep right here...

[Karasu rubs her eyes as she's roused, blinking a little with a yawn. What...?]
Sorry, did I doze --
[She wasn't even ti--]
no subject
Uh... are you okay, Bakura-kun?
no subject
I had a little 'accident' with a wall introducing itself to my head before. I might have to put off helping you while I sleep a little... my head's killing me.
[Among other things. His shoulder's in agony.]
no subject
[That's right, he said he was hurt. Karasu lifts her arms up, hesitates, then gently rests them on Bakura's head, closing her eyes. She's not an expert in magic, but seeing Bakura hurting is painful to her, and she knows enough about Cure to know how to use it.
And if she's a big strong dragon, then the magic from her other side should fuel it... right?
Well... here goes nothing, as she tries to focus the spell into Bakura to heal what damage he's taken.]
no subject
[What is this...? This energy is soothing and gentle, washing over him like a gentle rain. The tension leaves him slowly as he relaxes against her.
It's enough to heal the damage from the impact, dulling it down to insignificance rather than the potentially severe effects it might have had if he had simply fallen asleep like that.
Her energy is like her soul. It's warm and bright and gentle, but powerful at the same time. Like the sun itself.
It's both wonderful and terrible at the same time... but more importantly, it's power. Even if it's a power that has an eerie nature to him, it's power. And it's power being turned to help him.]
Karasu...-chan?
no subject
[She's not skilled in this spell, so it's taking all her concentration to keep it going like this. She doesn't know how badly Bakura is hurt, so she's trying to pour as much of that magic in as she can, hoping to heal all the damage... or at least enough so he's no longer in danger or pain.
In what feels like ages later -- but is only about a minute or two -- that flow stops, and she exhales sharply, rubbing her eyes a little. Phew. That felt... interesting.]
...How are you feeling?
no subject
Pretty good.
[Lifting his head, he meets her eyes with a fond smile.]
The pain's pretty much all gone now. Thanks.
no subject
...it's weird. I tried to heal as much as I could, but... I don't feel all that tired. A little drained, maybe, but just like after you run a mile or something.
I'm glad that it doesn't hurt anymore, though. Maybe I'm getting really good at that spell!
no subject
[He teases her playfully, sitting back and stretching.]
Ah, if only you'd had that spell a few months ago, heheh.
[...he didn't mean that to come out bad, Karasu. He'd just probably have fewer scars if you had.]
no subject
[Ah... she fidgets with her hair a little, looking down a bit sadly.]
Yeah... if only.
