the_campus | [Event] Heartless Invasion (Warning: Violence)

[A simple but intense dislike for Bakura had evolved into a hatred so strong Kai almost didn't know what to do with it. He'd tried distracting himself with friends, games, his dog...nothing really seemed to help as much as practicing his magic, and then only because every time he cast it, he was pretending he was using it on the Creeper. After a while even that didn't work. It hadn't taken him long after the stabbing incident to start practicing another of his skills, and while controlling the first Shadow he'd managed to summon had been a disappointment, he'd gotten better. Good enough, in his opinion, to carry out something he'd been considering for a while, but hadn't decided on with absolute certainty until Karasu was sobbing her heart out on his couch.

Killing the bastard won't be permanent, but maybe taking his Heart will be.

After locking Surge safely in the bedroom, Kai checks one more time to make sure the Blue Eyes Keychain she made for him is hanging from his belt before heading to the door. As his hand grasps the knob, a flash of silver catches his eye; the ring 'Jem had given him. Frowning, he tugs it off and goes to hide it in a kitchen drawer. The hell he's wearing it while he does this. The thought stirs an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach, and Kai shoves it away. Time to get on with it.

Forgoing the door this time, he opens a Corridor instead, focusing on pinning down the Creeper's location. He's pretty sure...Ah. Feels like the library. A smirk touches his lips before he steps through. Bakura might be gone by the time he gets there, but it's not like it matters.]

(OOC: So, Kai's finally had enough of Bakura's crap and sorta...snapped. His intention is to go after just him, but things are going to get out of hand. Heartless will be roaming the island - a lot of them. For simplicity's sake, they'll be limited to Shadows and Neoshadows. Feel free to deal with them as you see fit, but remember, only magic (including magical weapons) or the Keyblade can destroy them.

Important notes: All event-related threads must stay in this post. If a Heartless takes your character's Heart, it counts as death; they'll revive in the clinic within three days (at least). No Nobodies are allowed to be generated if your character becomes a Heartless.

Kai should hopefully slip back into the land of sanity within a few hours of starting this fiasco, and he'll start cleaning up his mess then. Mostly hunting down the suckers, but he can do rescues too if needed. It may take him a few days to catch any stragglers.)

It's not "-chan". And you're meant to be almost unstoppable! Falling to such pitiful creatures is pitiful.

[He could not sound more deadpan if he tried. Standing up right there on top of the air conditioning unit, he rests his hand in his pocket, where his deck is.]

There's no fun in running. If there's going to be blood spilt, I'd rather get involved.

[His tongue flicks out, running over his lips swiftly. They're coming. He can feel them. Hurry up! You're too slow... he snaps inside of his head. It's a foolishly impatient way to think. Behind him, one that escaped the flames is already creeping up the side of the unit.]

Heheh... who says I didn't want to let this happen? I feel a lot more free, this way... and with you and Kai both being so tied to darkness, isn't it better that I am too~?

[Her eyes flick briefly to the Heartless, then back up to Bakura. She sure as hell isn't going to warn him...]

I don't have to worry about it any more this way, after all.

The 'original' you would never have felt that way. So it's obvious that it wasn't by choice... until afterwards.

The darkness is freeing, but those steeped in light are irreparably repelled by it. It's-

[Danger-!]

[The Ring's warning lets him dodge, but not without taking a hit; his leg is sliced harshly and he barely catches his balance without falling. Rage surges up in him.]

DIE!

[Lightning strikes it as Dark World Lightning is pulled and activated. He'd been hoping for something less magical, but he'd take what he could get. His energy reserves are now considerably depleted compared to earlier... damn.]

[Karasu bursts into laughter, clapping her hands gleefully at the sight of that.]

Ooh, what a shock! Heheheh. Getting a little unsettled, there, Bakura-chan~?

Unsettled...?

[He can feel it. That creature born of darkness... it's just like before, with the 'memories' of the Shadows that Kai had rescued him from. Heh. That was probably balanced out, right? That darkness had entered his body briefly, mixing with his own, and it was enough to leave him reeling.

Swaying on his feet, he throws his head back and bursts out into peals of raucous laughter that seem somehow even more dissonant than usual.]

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

[Damn... Even having this little bit of extra darkness was unbalancing him. Being thrown off like this was really irritating.]

Don't talk such nonsense! I'm having the time of my life! Hahahahaha!

[...even so, he feels the urge for destruction rising. What a troublesome situation. Even his own host's pain is amusing him. The dark red staining his jeans... the pain coursing through his arm and leg... they were wonderful!]

Ooh, my mistake.

[She doesn't seem even remotely bothered by that laughter; it's almost as if his own excitement is feeding a bit of hers, and she crosses one leg over the other, leaning forward a little to watch him with a look of a pet tiger; tamed, as far as the owner knows, but with that predatory glint that gives doubts to that.]

But I'm glad to see you're enjoying yourself! You should go down and pick a fight, in that case... I'm sure there'd be plenty more Heartless down in the building~!

[That's right. There'll be more suffering down there. More chaos. More fear and blood and destruction... What the hell is he doing up here?!]

I've got chills.

[Jumping down and landing hard on his injured leg, he strides towards the entrance to the building with only the faintest of faltering.]

Come on! Don't you want to have a little fun too?!

[She pushes herself off the railing, casually stretching and falling into step behind him.]

Oh, I'm fine watching~. After all, if I brought the whole building down, then how would they get trapped or lost?

Then play outside. The ones that try to flee to the forest... chase them down.

[Thick drops of red paint the stairs as he heads down into the building once more.]

I don't care what you do. But if you're watching, you better not interfere. If I run into Kai, I'll tear him apart!

[Ugh, his head feels clouded. What is he even doing? It'd only take one mistake to lose this game. He'll have to be more precise than usual. But that just makes it more fun. More fun... More destruction. There needs to be more...

Drawing a card, he summons the Man-Eater Bug without hesitation.]

Go. Devour! Destroy! Tear everyone you meet to shreds! Hahahaha!

[Walking right into the fray was a foolish strategy... He was going to play his way.]
