[so here's the thing about mysteriously thick, perpetual darkness; yugioh fairies are negatively effected by and just plain do not like it. And thanks to the medieval dueling style, Harriet has about twenty of those buggers resonating inside her soul. Granted, some do better than others, and she's been taking full advantage of Hoshiningen's ability to light the way. It makes them all quieter too. But it takes energy to keep it summoned, and as soon as the light goes out, there's that persistent, gnawing discomfort. It's making it hard to sleep.

It's quite ridiculous, she thinks. She's grown out of being afraid of the dark, for christ's sake...

But in the end, she seeks out the moonlight to pacify that feeling. Harriet can be found on the rooftop with an improvised coffee pot, a novel and one of Henry's candles, although she doesn't seem to be focusing on her reading very well. Actually, she looks like she might be nodding off... and then snaps back awake when her head slams into the book.]

Ugh, damn it-

[she can't afford to fall asleep out here by herself. She's got too many enemies. Stifling a yawn, she pours herself another cup of coffee. She'll need it for staying alert on the walk back to the dorm.]

[He should maybe...be picking a different spot to be napping, but hey, it's dark and he has no idea where he is so that's completely normal to do at night right?

Wouldn't be the first time you've seen some random guy laying with his arm as his pillow on the ground. If you're lucky maybe not but a guy has to sleep sometime. Maybe now wasn't one of his better choices given anyone could just stumble over him like that as he was sort of...in the way, but hey now you wouldn't do it on purpose right?

In any case there you have it; Human barrier # 1 in your path snoring away.]

Kai was beyond happy the lights were working again, and that there was actually sunlight during the day. While he was pretty comfortable in the dark - bored, even - too much of it for too long made him think about things he'd rather not. Running into Bakura in the halls during the blackout really hadn't helped any.

Right now he was in the East Wing library, with a few books on photography next to him, and his sketchbook spread open in front of him. The page he was working on held several sketches of people he'd met since he'd been here. They weren't the best, but he was improving. His favorite at the moment was one he'd done the night of his run-in with the Creeper: a quick sketch of Bakura with horns and his feet on fire. Juvenile? Damn straight.

Kai yawned a little and folded his arms over part of the book, staring absently at a bookcase a few feet away. Stupid blackout had screwed up his sleeping patterns, and he kept wanting to crawl back into bed at random. Well, he didn't feel like heading back right this second. Surely a little nap at the table wouldn't hurt. Kai lowered his head to rest on his arms and closed his eyes, drifting off.
