Joint Post! Like an Old Married Couple
[From just outside the jungle's trees, near the mountainside, some bickering can be heard:]
Here. It's probably fresher than you'd like, but it's all we have.
...I can't eat that, Bakura.
You don't have the option to be picky, Malik!
No...I really can't, you fool!
Tch... I can cook it a bit more, but we have to be careful, or the smoke from the fire will give us away!
Ughh...can't you find some fruit? Just look up.
Do you want to die? If someone finds you while I'm out looking for fruit, you'll have worse problems than having to eat meat.
But Bakura... [Malik sounds a bit like he might be ill.] My stomach...
O-oy! Hold on a little longer, okay? I'll see if I can find something close by. I'll stay within earshot, so if someone approaches, scream.
Just get a couple...I don't need that much.
Be quiet, you idiot. You need to eat something. [He chomps down on the meat Malik refused to eat.]
Well? I can't eat anything if you don't go get something!
((ooc: So! Tags will come from both Bakura and Malik. If we're going to tag you with both on a turn we'll put a "1/2" in the subject line, otherwise it's just one at a time. Also since the two of them are injured, we just ask that nobody with magic healing powers comes along to heal them up and stuff. Thanks!

Gathering some spare clothes and a clothe from the bag he takes a seat by the stream, pulling off everything besides his underwear and bandages. He takes a moment to get used to the water's temperatures, legs dipped inside with the water gently flowing over them.]
...Ah... [He gulps, a blush tinting his cheeks. Malik was finding himself a weird mixture of cocky and...embarrassed. It had been a nice break from the monotony of the last few days, though.]
Well, at least now you understand who's in charge. Keh...
no subject
[The casual assurance of his arrogance was almost ordinary. Kneeling in the water, he goes down practically on all fours to splash it on his face. That had been quite fun, if a little uncomfortable. His face felt hot, despite his lack of embarassment.
That flush on Malik's face was quite pleasant, though. Heh. For all Malik's bragging, he was still so naive.]
Don't you need to take those off too?
no subject
He shivers suddenly as a result.]
My bandages? No, I don't want anything to get into the wound.
no subject
I wasn't talking about the bandages.
[He didn't bother to get up. Moving over so he's facing him, he rested his hands on the ground on either side of Malik's thighs, staring at him.]
You can't clean yourself off properly if you're still wearing your underwear.
no subject
[Malik knits his brow at that next commen, suspicious...and of course, his suspicions are confirmed.]
And of course I can. I'm going to take a dip in the water. [Narrowing his eyes, and bringing a foot up to shove it in Bakura's face.
He's insulting you, Bakura.] As soon as you get out of my way.
no subject
Do that again and I'll be cutting this foot off.
no subject
Oy, do you like carrying me around that much, Bakura? Hmhmhm...
no subject
[Oh, he gets the meaning of that. Releasing Malik's foot, he strikes it aside with the back of his hand, backing off.
I'm going to kill you some day...]
Maybe I'd refuse to carry you...! Heheh... I'd like to see you intimidate anyone while on crutches.
no subject
"Maybe"...? Only maybe...! What kind of threat is that, Bakura?
no subject
[What a blatant insult! Seething a little, he does the only thing that comes to mind. Scooping up a handful of water, he splashes it in Malik's face.]
Oy! I only said 'maybe' because I still have a use for you! Don't assume otherwise!
[The embarassed look on his face says otherwise.]
no subject
...But more important right now was that the embarrassed look on Bakura's face was all too sweet. Sweet enough that Malik doesn't even notice Bakura's hand and gets a face full of water.]
Ah! [Sputtering a little.] What was that?!
[Angry now, Malik leans forward and grabs a handful of Bakura's hair, yanking him towards his own face so he can leer into it.] And what's this "use", Bakura? That you would chop off my foot...and still carry me.
[Hissing through his grin.] Maybe~
no subject
[Malik being that forceful surprises him enough that he doesn't react in time to avoid being pulled forwards. Scowling in annoyance at Malik's presumption, he grabbed the hand holding his hair by the wrist.
Just as Malik was likely planning, the question and the accompanying actions throws him off, making him flush red with embarassment. Against that pale skin, it probably looks odd.]
Why should I have to explain myself to you?!
no subject
Interesting...maybe he could use this to his advantage.]
We're partners, right? [He reaches forward with his other hand, he cups the other man's face, taunting him and testing out his own theories. Despite the seemingly delicate action, Malik's wearing as domineering a look as always.]
If you don't tell me, it hurts both of us. Just like with Karasu!
no subject
Tugging at Malik's wrist, he snapped back at him, trying to ease the embarassment he felt.]
I've told you before not to order me around! It's none of your business what my plans are!
[Hurts them? Like hell it does! Both of them keep secrets, he's sure of that. Growling in the back of his throat, he jerks his head away as best he can. Even though he can't hide how embarassed he is with this pale skin, he can at least stop Malik from feeling the heat of his face. What the hell was he thinking, grabbing onto him like he was a woman?]
no subject
You've told me before, and look where it gets you, Bakura! Just come clean already, it'll be easier in the long run!
[Or don't. Malik doesn't care, because either way he has an idea--and he's going to take advantage of it.]
no subject
[That smile just pisses him off even more. Even more so since he doesn't actually have a plan in regards to Malik. He's been winging it from the start, and he knows it. Being put on the spot like that threw him off so completely that he can't even formulate a proper lie.
How annoying...]
You'll know when I'm done with you! I'll bury you when that time comes!
no subject
At least I have plans--I'm beginning to wonder if you have any at all!
[He raises a fist, still fuming.] The only thing you'll bury me in is boredom at this rate!
no subject
[...he has to admit it's kind of true, though. Even if it's just to himself.
But seeing the tables turns gives him an edge. He manages a brief smirk, folding his arms over his chest.]
Oh? And after I went to such trouble to entertain you...
no subject
[Malik wrinkles his nose in a sneer; a look that's wiped off his face as he realizes what else Bakura had said. It wouldn't be good to antagonize Bakura too much...he still needed this man.]
...No, no. [He closes his eyes, jaw tightened in a grimace.] You're aimless, but not useless.
[Glancing up at that next comment.] Tch...who entertained who, exactly?
no subject
I've got more purpose than you think, Malik. I'm simply good at adapting to new opportunities... so my plans are often changing, depending on what's available.
If you really want to know... I can tell you. But it'll have to be honesty for honesty. I don't give away secrets without expecting something in return.
[That last part, though...]
...oy. Don't forget, you'd never have even tried that if I hadn't suggested it.
no subject
...It can wait. I want to finish washing up first.
[Brushes past Bakura, he steps into the water and takes a seat, the cool, calm waves brushing up against his bandages and making him shiver further. He grabs his cloth and starts to gently wash off his dark skin.]
And for the record...you may have started it, but I finished it.
no subject
[He growls at that, looking a little flustered. Still... From this position, he can see those markings easily.
Reaching out, he places a hand square on the center of Malik's back.]
Well... you definitely rose to the occasion. Hmhmhm...
no subject
...Well...somebody had to teach you who was in charge. [There's something else behind his voice. A double meaning in his words.]
no subject
[So Malik didn't like those markings being touched. Why have something like that, but not allow them to be seen? He didn't seem the type. And the harsh ridges of them didn't feel like any modern-type tattoo. It felt more like... scar tissue.]
I noticed the use of a scalpel to keep me 'in my place', so to speak. It'd be interesting to see if you could top me if we did it for real.
Heheh. Need a hand with that?
no subject
Oh, I could. The scalpel merely made up for the fact I'm limited on how much I can move.
[He blinks, pausing.] Help with what?
