[Event] It couldn't last forever.
[The lights going out had certainly surprised Henry, but he had been prepared for such a thing. He didn't fully understand the "electricity" that this place seemed to have, and thus, lacking that understanding, he had decided to prepare in case it disappeared.
Just like it had now.
Candles in that old-style holder and lit, Henry at least had some visibility despite the pressing darkness. Making sure to store away the others (at least after making sure Eleanor and Jack had ones themselves) he's started off into the Campus, looking for anyone lost in this darkness to help them find their way back to their dorms, or wherever else it was they wanted to go.]

Henry, your head is in my lap, he wants to say, but that would mean waking him up. Please get off of me, he wants to say, but again, that would wake him up. He would just pick him up, but...
As long as Henry doesn't try turning over again, he isn't going to react.
Much.]

...Well. You two might be here for a while.]

[Welp. Nothing to do but strike up a conversation with this other person.]
...Hi.
[Translation: Who are you?
And so it begins.]
Some hours later...
And so, he yawns loudly as he shifts a little, frowning at the odd feel. What kind of pillow was he laying on...?]

[The low murmur of voices above him probably sounds confusing at first. The candles haven't even been re-lit, since it'd be hard to do that without dislodging Henry. At least they're familiar.
Still, at the shift, Jack's voice falters slightly. Don't move against his lap, Henry! That's uncomfortable.]
Ah. It appears his highness has awoken at last.
2/2
[Hm? Why did Jack's voice pause like that? Then he hears the yawn even as Jack speaks, and understands.]
Good morning, Hen- uhm. Your Majesty! I think it's morning anyway.

[It takes a moment, but the memory of the night before comes back to Henry and he blinks, bracing himself on whatever he's laying on and trying to push himself to sitting in the space that he has.
...Leg. That's a leg -- Jack's, from the positioning of the voices. Then he was just laying on...
...Oh.
Henry is quick to swing his legs over and sit up, clearing his throat in what's clearly embarrassment.]
Sorry, Jack. Good morning to both of you.

He's glad Henry can't see his face right now. Because it's not exactly the most mature thing to be beet red with embarassment.]
Good morning.
[His voice is a little embarassed.]

Have you two been up long?
no subject
[Ryou has no idea about any of this. There's a rustling sound as he presses something into Henry's hands.]
Here. We were eating these for breakfast, but we saved you some.
no subject
[Hm? Henry carefully runs his hands along... whatever he was just handed, trying to figure out what he was just handed.]
What is it?
[...Smells sugary. He already approves.]
1/2
They were carefully wrapped, from what I could tell, so they're still edible.
[Jack's voice is calm. He's tried them to make sure they're safe (and also because he was hungry). They're good for a treat, though he still prefers a more meaty breakfast.]

[Henry takes a bite into the sweet... and then promptly devours it, the only hint of its swift demise being the crumpling of paper that comes far too soon.]
...I might have to look into hoarding these later.
no subject
They go really well with ice cream or fruit. You can find bulk packs of them pretty easily here too!
Hm... Where...?
[He knows he felt that weight in his pocket earlier. Aha! Just going to click on the lighter so they can at least have a minor light in the area. Where did he even get this thing?]
no subject
If you please?]

[He stands at that, rolling his shoulder a bit to pop it.]
Let's grab what we need and make haste outside.
[There's a heavy tone of PLEASE in his voice.]
1/2
[This wasn't his type of darkness. Not really. It was oppressive and unnatural, and he couldn't command it. What a pain... Quickly redressing in his armor and reaffixing his sword, he heads to the door and unlocks it.]
2/2
[Grabbing his sweater, he folds it over one arm as he neatly gets rid of the profiterole wrappers. Even if it's unused, he won't leave this place messy.]
no subject
...I wonder if it's truly been days since the sun has risen.
1/2
[Jack's quiet answer is firm and calm. He gestures for Ryou to help him gather the wood for a fire, careful not to burden him too much with his injuries.]
2/2
It reminds me of the Player Killer. When we were on Duelist Kingdom, a man was hired by the tournament leader to eliminate people that might be troublesome. Yugi-kun was one of those people, and he challenged the Player Killer to a duel to prevent one of our other friends being eliminated. Mai-san had already lost to him, but Yugi-kun challenged him anyway, wagering his life to sweeten the deal.
But the guy used a trick to cover his half of the field in darkness, so Yugi-kun couldn't see anything. Even if he used his monsters to try to light it up with attacks, that only wasted his turn.

[It sounds plausible enough to him. But he's not quite sure what kind of monster could bring that sort of thing. Unnatural darkness, that was simple enough, but to stop the very sun?
The Dark Magician can only reply confusedly to his master's unspoken question, causing Henry to frown.]
no subject
If that's the case, I wonder if the sun has actually been stopped, or if we just can't see or feel it. If there's some kind of field over the island that's keeping it from us, that would explain the stars being so weird.
