[Event] It couldn't last forever.
[The lights going out had certainly surprised Henry, but he had been prepared for such a thing. He didn't fully understand the "electricity" that this place seemed to have, and thus, lacking that understanding, he had decided to prepare in case it disappeared.
Just like it had now.
Candles in that old-style holder and lit, Henry at least had some visibility despite the pressing darkness. Making sure to store away the others (at least after making sure Eleanor and Jack had ones themselves) he's started off into the Campus, looking for anyone lost in this darkness to help them find their way back to their dorms, or wherever else it was they wanted to go.]

[White hair? He only knows one woman like that.]
I see... But, I don't think she'll be too happy with that. Maybe it'd be better to leave her out of it...
no subject
Oh? Why is that?
no subject
[His voice is dry at best.]
no subject
[Hm... now why do you know that, Bakura?]

[Well, not that he cares... But hey, he can steer Henry away from Karasu as an idea this way.]
In the modern era, the young grow up much slower than they did in your time! Ryou has grown up slower yet. Though his mind is as confused as any teenager on that front, he's naive and the thought of love or romance almost never crosses his mind. His mind is full of games and friendship and all that bullshit.
He'd probably be happier with a romance that came out of nowhere than one that actually involved seduction. Forward people unnerve him too much.

[Hm... Henry had gotten an idea of that with Harriet and Eleanor, especially when Eleanor was being quickly trained. To have it confirmed, however, is nice. While he doesn't intend to actually go tromping through this era properly, at least not to any degree to fully need that, it might help in understanding some of the ones around here a little.]
Spur of the moment... I haven't seen one of those in a while.

[As Malik in particular knows.]

Heh. Back in Japan, there was this idiot teacher who decided to try to get Ryou to cut his hair off because he didn't like him. What a fool. Ryou was almost going to do it.
no subject
[Henry stares, like this is actually something hard for him to comprehend. Jus... wha... Hair? Hair is what they had a problem with? There's no way, even in a more relaxed era.]
You must be joking...
no subject
But... that guy was just a bastard who thought he had power over the students. Since people liked Ryou's hair so much, he decided to force him to get rid of it as a statement of that power.

[Well, congratulations, Bakura, you've gotten that icy facade to break into utter confusion. Probably not entirely what you wanted, but hey.]
I can understand the idea of uniformity, but... not even being able to survive by yourself? What in the world are they thinking?
[He shakes his head in disbelief, giving Bakura an incredulous look.]

They believe it would interfere with the lessons of the young if they were allowed to work. Special permissions can be granted, but... The modern era is a little messed up. Everything's about control and order.
no subject
Amazing in the most worst of ways. I think I'll avoid Japan if I ever find myself anywhere else in this era...
no subject
[They have more meat and they don't have natto.]
no subject
I'm not familiar with what that is.
no subject
It ended up a bit of a mess, and everyone there is childish as hell [Pot - Kettle] but it's got pretty good food.
no subject
About when was this?
[He swears to god, if it was during his reign, he's going to have to figure out what the hell went wrong.]
no subject
[brb rifling through memories.]
I believe the 1600s. Pretty sure it was before or during the early parts of when the British Empire was a thing.
no subject
...British Empire, eh?]
I might have to take a look into this after all.
no subject
What? You mean you're actually curious about something? Henry, you're surprising me a lot tonight!
