[EFFECT ROOM] Dresses for the Dressing Room!

[Welcome to Lapin Angelique! Everyone who enters this room will suddenly find themselves wearing a Gothic Lolita Dress. They may also have other gothic accessories such as tiny little hats, frilly parasols, vampire capes, or spooky plushies.

Bizarre things will happen if you try to take off the clothes. Maybe it will just be downright impossible, they're stuck to your body. Maybe you'll start to FEEL GOTH and the BLACKNESS OF YOUR HEART compels you to put the clothes back on. Maybe you start taking off the clothes, only to find that doing so causes you to slowly morph into a bunny until you put them back on (or until you're a bunny. But was that REALLY worth it?) It's all up to fate!

Either way, these dresses are probably staying on, at least until the effect wears off. Which could be anything from a couple hours to the rest of the day.]

[kicks off her shoes by the door and ventures in, holding her hands behind her back as she stands in place and looks around. She pauses and tilts her head back at him]

Sooo, got any snacks? ♪

[Ryou follows her in, pulling off his shoes and slipping into a pair of inside ones.]

...I have some crackers. Here, I'll get them for you in a minute, just let me change first.

[Setting the dress down on the arm of the couch, he hurries into the bedroom and locks the door behind him.]

[She'll just kinda wander around while he does that, and when he comes back out she's picking up a monster world piece to look at it idly]

[Oh god, was there seriously a girl in his room right now? How awkward...

Ryou came out a minute later in his usual neat and orderly clothes, the oversized ones slung over his arm. When he sees Rin looking at a Monster World figure, his previous anxiety almost melts away entirely.]

Ah! Do you like them? They're for my new Monster World playset.

Sure, it looks pretty cute! [Rin points at the figure in her hand]

Is this the kinda game you customize yourself? I know a lot of songs about RPGs, but I only play the video game kind. ♪

Eheh, thanks. Some people just buy pre-painted pieces, or ones you assemble and paint yourself, but I like to go a step farther and make my own. If I can, I'll usually take a base from a generic figure and build over it to make things a little easier.

[Ryou makes his way closer, picking up one of the half-molded pieces (thoroughly wrapped in plastic) to show Rin what he means. There's a resin base below, and overtop of it he's been building with clay. The face and hair might start to look familiar--it's him!]

Usually you buy the board pieces yourself and just click them together however you want, but since I can't go to the game shop here I'll have to build my entire set from scratch.

Not that I mind, it's fun and keeps me busy. [He's just beaming at her.]

Oh, and it's a little different from its videogame counterpart, but board games like these are where the genre came from! So now, instead of needing a whole group of people, you can have an adventure whenever you want. Still...I prefer to play with friends around a table.

[...HELP. She opened a floodgate! Rin tries to be politely interested but she can't help but snicker a bit when she notices the figure is supposed to be himself. Everything about this screams "overly invested." ]

Wow, you're really geeking out about this...

[Still, she meant it when she called the figures cute. It's the first time he's looked really happy too. Rin won't judge him, she'll just tease. ]

Hehehe. I like games though, it sounds pretty fun! I think you have a nice talent here. ♪

Ah... [He looks a little embarrassed, and about ready to change the topic, when Rin draws him back in.

He smiles brightly at her again, earnestly enthused.]

Thank you Rin-chan. If you want, when I finish my game board, we could play some time! I can invite my Aniki and Yugi-kun to join us--maybe, if they're interested. It'll be really fun!

[Rin doesn't know those people, but she supposes a big group is needed to play a game like this.]

Sure, it could be. But, is there anything I'd need to do to prepare? Like a character sheet or something? ♪

Un, that's right! You'll have to pick your race, class, miniature, and then make up a name, personality, and a back story. After that you can roll for your stats and gear and start the game!

[He rattles off the details with a smile, not even having to think about them.]

Hm. I guess I'll think about it. [headscratch] What kinda classes are there in Monster World? ♪

There's several classes: The warrior, beast tamer, magician, bard, enchanter, martial artist, diabolist, magic gunman, illusionist, merchant, and thief!

But those are different from your race, which just designates what kind of clothes your character wears, the weapons they can equip, and what sort of base stats they have.

Okay, then what about the races? I guess if it affects that then it'll have to be picked first? ♪

The races are...human, elf, half-elf, hobbit, pixie fairy, dwarf, birdtail! Depending on what class you want, I could tell you the "optimal" race to go with it.

[hm, nodding, seems pretty standard, she knows fantasy tropes well enough that she thinks she can guess but- wait what]

... What the hell is a birdtail? ♪

Birdtails are a race of bird people! They can fly and have high charisma. Ehehe... [He doesn't think that fits you at all, Rin-chan.]

[meanwhile Rin is seriously considering it because charisma is totes her highest stat irl.]

Hmm... do they have bird faces, or just wings? ♪

Un, they have bird faces, although they can be pretty cute too if you make the beak smaller and give them a sort of human-hybrid look. I could do that for you if you wanted.

Elf works! I can work on your piece later today. Eheh, not that we can play anytime soon...what with my Monster World still needing to be built.
