[EVENT: BEACH TIME!]

[Normally, one might count walking into a standard classroom only to find a bright, sunny beach instead to be a very pleasant surprise. But as Tadakuni stood there; blankly trying to wrap his head around what just happened- Only one question plagued his mind enough to dwarf all other concerns.]
.......
WHY AM I IN SCHOOL TRUNKS AGAIN!?
((OOC: Welcome to the Beach Room! Once inside, everyone who enters will suddenly appear dressed in swimwear of some kind. Unfortunately, those who try to leave will find an invisible barrier blocking them from exiting the room for at least 3 hours. So have fun, take a swim, play some volleyball, enjoy the cheesy beach-party music, or find some other activity to occupy your time!

Yeah, it really is. My university didn't have a beach.
[If only the food was better. He's hoping he can find a pizza place or something like that one day.]
Found a place to stay yet?

[Leon finishes up with the lotion and recaps the bottle before setting it aside. He gives a shrug.]
I passed some dorm rooms on my way here, but I can't exactly say I've picked one out yet, no.
no subject
[Although he'd only just met Leon, Norman already likes him better than every other person he's come across here so far. As more people arrive, those dorm rooms are going to fill up... maybe it'd be best to try and snatch up a sane roommate whom he can get along with before someone truly awful is forced into his room for lack of space.]
I have a room to myself with some empty beds if you'd rather not bother picking out your own place. The rooms are gonna fill up eventually anyway.
no subject
Well I guess it wouldn't hurt. Heh, reminds me of my college days! Roommates, beaches...never going to class. [He cracks a grin.]
no subject
Tell me about it! [Never mind the fact that Norman had always been that kid who spent most of his time in the library, avoiding parties and always maintaining a perfect attendance record.] So, do you live around D.C.? I'm always traveling around the country with my job, but my home base is there.
no subject
Since I got a job with the President, yeah, I don't exactly have much of a choice. It's not so bad though, there's plenty of museums to visit on my day off if I don't have anything else to do.
no subject
[He's always been of the opinion that keeping a family with this sort of job would be extremely difficult. The amount of traveling could be a problem, and the hours lead to a lot of inconsistency. Neither is good for a relationship or raising children.]
no subject
Nah. I don't have time for that kind of stuff. What about yourself?
no subject
[Probably not. He's getting old to start with all that, though his parents would likely disagree.]
Oh yeah, a word of warning... don't eat any cupcakes you find around here. They... do things to your head.
no subject
[Leon arches an eyebrow at that, perplexed.]
What, did somebody spike the batter? [He laughs at his own joke.]
no subject
[Trust him, he would know.]
[Unlike some, Norman doesn't find it weird at all that Leon is laughing at his own lame joke.]
I'd say avoid food found outside the cafeteria, but considering the quality of the stuff served there, I might not even be able to follow my own advice.
no subject
[Leon places a hand on his hip, looking amused by that statement.]
Now I'm reminded of my highschool days. I think I saw a culinary room on the way here though. There might me something useful in there.
no subject
High school... yeah, I'd rather not think about those days.
[He'd been picked on a lot in high school. His fascination with serial killers hadn't endeared him to anyone either.]
Oh, I must have missed that room. That'll be something to check out later.
no subject
[Leon, unlike Jayden, was pretty popular in high school! Not football quarterback popular, but well-liked at the least.]
Yeah, the only problem is you need to know how to cook. I don't know about you, but I can burn scrambled eggs if I'm not careful.
no subject
[People can be so petty when they're young. Unfortunately, his own likability didn't increase greatly after high school, but he's been doing better ever since he broke the Origami Killer case and became a national 'hero'.]
Ah... I'm not much of a chef myself. I guess we could give it a shot if there are cookbooks.
[If it's between that and the cafeteria, he's willing to give it a shot.]
no subject
[But enough about him! Leon's looking chipper again as he brings a hand up to his chin.]
Well, I never was good at following directions. But I suppose it can't hurt to try.
no subject
[He arches an eyebrow at that.]
You work for the president, and you're bad at following directions? I can't see that ending well.
[Yeah, yeah, he's clearly not referring to his career. What's wrong with a little joke?]
no subject
[...SO IT WASN'T REALLY A JOKE.]
no subject
So, what were you gonna do here? Go for a swim? Play some volleyball?
no subject
A swim doesn't sound half bad. I could use some work on my doggie paddle.
no subject
Doggie paddle? Even I can do better than that.
[Back stroke anyone?]
no subject
And so is Leon, for that matter.]Whaat? Don't tell me you can cat-stroke.
no subject
Cat-stroke? Is that a real thing?
no subject
But anyway, what're we waiting for? I'm baking out here!
no subject
And soon you'll be basting.
[ANYWAY-]
One second. [He pushes himself to his feet and nods toward the ocean before heading in that direction. The sand is really hot so he soon picks up the pace.]
