ANNOUNCEMENT 008
[Oddly enough, the woman who usually pipes in over the speakers at least once a month hasn't shown her face--figuratively speaking--this month at all. However, there is a dull static that pours forth from all the speakers today. It is an unending, but bearable white noise.]
Speak to the Voice...?
General Mingle
General Mingle

Your spirit is a thing that replaces legs with a snake. Well, guess you had to compensate somewhere.
no subject
[He grins, but explains no further.] But I'm surprised... You're one of the first people who actually seems to know what I'm talking about when I say "Ka". Everybody else has just called him a monster...or a "critter".
no subject
[ Not that he believes that the creature is a literal figure of this guy's soul. He'll stick to him being metahuman. ]
no subject
[Stuffing his hands into his hoodie's front pockets, Bakura leans back.]
Do you believe everything the "museum" tells you?
no subject
[ And since no one else has been running around, here or back in Gotham, with a physical manifestation of their soul trudging along behind them... Jason's quick to smack the metahuman label on him. It's what the title was made for, really - humans with abilities or powers beyond that of an average person. The thing is probably just the guy's familiar or something. ]
Some people obsess over science and logic; the fact is that they don't always apply.
no subject
I'm the same way. The word of another isn't worth anything; they're only words after all, and they could just as easily be lies!
[He's starting to find you less annoying now, Jason. Don't mess it up. Bakura could always use more unfortunate souls to bother with his presence.]
Of course, not everyone sees it that way... [And the ones who don't? Well, he can use his words to his advantage.]
no subject
And they're usually the ones that come from a pampered background. You have money or power, you're not going to be strolling around where the scum of the earth walk.
no subject
They sit on their asses all day, having their men carry out their every pointless order. I can't wait to give those bastards what they have coming to them.
[That anger turns to a sort of amusement, although it's bitter and spiteful.] Seeing the Pharaoh driven to such desperation that he has to confront me himself... H-hehehaha....
If they can do whatever they want for what they call "justice", then so can I.
no subject
That's a can of worms he isn't about to open so seeing as how Bakura is going on a ranting spree, Jason sits back down next to the splintered heap of a table and folds his arms behind his head while he rocks back onto the chair's two legs. ]
You assume you'll find a way out of this joint. Good luck with that.
I'M SORRY...I'M ALIVE NOW!!
I'm a thief...if there's anything I'm good at, it's getting in and out of places!
[He certainly sounds proud of himself.]
IT'S COOL.
Oh, I'm not talking about the building.
[ He leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees, the front legs of the chair snapping flat against the floor. ]
What I'd pay to see is you trying to get off the island.
yayyy
It's only a matter of time. That "barrier" has to have its holes.
no subject
[ Jason straightens his back and shrugs. ]
But hey. Learn by doing, right?
no subject
[He's confident if anything, and Jason's constant inclination to doubt him is annoying. But Bakura knows he'll prove him wrong...he just needs more time. As always, he just needs time.]
But you have one thing right... You can't learn if you don't try, and you can't succeed if you don't learn!
[The only problem is this barrier might be technology far out of his grasp, or even magic. Of course, just because he has doubts doesn't mean he has to admit them! Only a fool would do that!]
My turn to apologize!
I doubt people want to see your mug plastered everywhere so yeah, I'd say that's a good thing. Thanks for the pep-talk though.
I will use your apology to replenish my supply
And I don't just give these things for free you know. Pay up! [It's not so obvious now. Bakura sounds pretty serious.]
no subject
no subject
That's right. If you're capable, you don't need to rely on anybody else to give you what you want. You can just take it yourself.
no subject
Of course. So now that we're just talking in circles, how 'bout a name?
no subject
...Bakura.
no subject
[ He's been operating as Red Hood for months, never really taking any down time so it's strange to be using his given name again. Bruce'd frown on it but who cares? There aren't any fingerprints on file; he's also been legally dead for years. ]
You make a habit out of flashing your spirit to people, Bakura, or am I just a special occasion?
no subject
[Bakura laughs again, and then finally calms. The occasional little laugh still slips past him.]
I saw an opportunity, and I took it!
no subject
Most people that bare their souls don't do it quite so literally. Or with men they just met.
no subject
[The sarcasm is nearly palpable in his voice.]
no subject
[ Jason matches his tone as he hooks his thumbs into the corner of his pockets. ]
I can tell you right now that if I wanted to say that, I wouldn't beat around the bush.
