CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: SNOWED IN PART II - BLIZZARD
[Starting late that night on the 18th and continuing on throughout the rest of the day, the wind and snow howls, beating against the side of the building as it covers everything in several feet of white.
The lights flicker dangerously, and around noon is when the power finally goes. Those within the building are left in a cold-blue darkness and even the smallest comforts of warmth. Any standing water, and anything with a high water content, ices over within hours.]
((ooc: this blizzard lasts the 19th only, but feel free to backtag! There will be one final post on the 21st to signal the snow melting / closing of the event. Not that this isn't as bad as the blackout event. You can still see what's in front of you, but it is relatively dark inside.))

For the love of god...

Ought to actually walk back this time. Geeze. [Sighing, he squints down the hall. Is that another person?] Hey, are you lost?
no subject
You could say that. This place is a hell hole, isn't it? The place is filled with snow and ice outside and we're surrounded by a strange old hag on an intercom. [The annoyance dripped from his refined voice, his English accent punctuating each word.]
I am trying to find my way back to my room.
no subject
Some days are worse than others, but it's not a hell hole yet. [Kai gives a shrug and tightens his grip on his armload of blankets, then grins at the man's description of the intercom lady.] 'Hag' suits her pretty well. Which wing are you staying in, East or West? I could lead you back if you want.
[The flame over his shoulder moves forward, floating a few feet ahead of him so they can both see a little more clearly. Kai frowns suddenly. Better to explain before he asks.] Uh, pay no attention to the little ball of fire, there. It's just magic.
[That's not much of an explanation, actually. If anything it just invites more questions.]
no subject
...Hopefully nobody will recognize him as he hurries down the halls to search some rooms for anything they can use as spare warmth. Apparently the weather was affecting his ability to summon, as much as it was anything else.
Besides, he didn't have any monsters that would help. Lava Golem was a little too much.]

[Bakura's irritability is only growing the more this weather grows. And with the heat having gone off, what comfort he has from his higher tolerance is little at best. But if he lets Ryou handle it, they'll probably get sick or something... what a pain.
Huddled up under the blankets with Anubis, he shares what warmth he has with the poor thing. Even his dislike of being openly kind outweighs the need for it. Malik would probably kill him if the dog died of the cold, after all. And he did feel bad for it.
Hearing the door open, he calls out.]
Malik. In here!
no subject
[Malik makes a beeline for the bedroom, bothering only to take off his shoes as he climbs into the bed and huddles up with his boyfriend and his dog.]
It's freezing out there! ...How's Anubis?
[He pulls his messenger bag off his shoulders and dumps a few items onto the bed.]
I found some, ah...dog clothes.
no subject
He's not handling the cold well. Not surprising. It's just as cold in here, after all. Tch, what kind of shoddy people run this place?!
no subject
Here. Put this on him.
[While he's at it, he pulls out a thick quilt which barely fit in his bag to begin with.] I found this for us...

The pawn is clutching a saucer filled with multiple candles in one hand, blankets from the dormitory folded over his other arm - only one candle is lit, the others are for when the main light becomes dangerously low. When he happens upon Malik, he's unable to mistake the frantic movements for anything other than desperation. ]
Here, ser. You have a more pressing need for it than this pawn.
[ The bite of the cold does not effect him quite the same way. He has chill bumps but he does not shiver and there is no shake to his voice as he extends the blanket towards the other person. ]
no subject
...Why are you giving this to me? [Even as he folds the blanket up and stuffs it into his bag, his eyes are narrowed with suspicion.]
no subject
We exist to serve the Arisen; when we are unable to fulfill our purpose, we must tend to other tasks. When happened upon, you appeared cold and so this pawn sought to help.
no subject
Is that so? Thank you, then. But now I'm curious; who is this "Arisen"?

[...What a miserable state of affairs. Will it be untimely to ask if anybody's bothering with their laundry under these circumstances?
If they are, they may happen across a peculiar scene in the laundry room. Down the aisle scuttles a wild-haired girl, very new, very bewildered, and very underdressed in a thin robe with no shoes. There's a giant cross strapped to her back; she doesn't seem inclined to set it down as she opens and shuts driers, shifting through the clothes inside. Maybe your clothes, but let's be fair, this bone-rattling chill doesn't leave her time to be coy. If it helps, she does look super guilty when she reaches into a pile and pulls out... Oh no, that looks like your favourite jacket.
Alternatively, you're already there first! In which case she'll fluster her way up to you and your warm armful of clothes, you fortunate person, doing her best not to eye them too openly. God, she's so embarrassed.]
Um, excuse me, I was just wondering... [ A resolved breath, then blurting: ] Do you have anything that needs fixing!?
[What do, gentle-person.]
( b ) Anywhere; after blackout.
[More (just more, period) dressed now, Kururu's literally feeling this strange new place out. The hallways echo with the tap-tap-tap of her shoes, slow but unceasing, quite steady for a girl navigating a world that's all edges and corners under her palms. Maybe that's when you sneeze down the hall, or breathe, or launch into a colourful tirade against this damn snow; however soft the noise, she appears to hear it, and her footsteps peter to a stop.]
Hello...? Is somebody there? Ah, I don't suppose this means you'll have a light either.
no subject
he's humming to himself as he removes a fresh warm batch of clothing from the dryer. he almost doesn't even notice kururu coming in, but no one could miss her axis. he could see it even if he were blind! looking over the clump of clean clothes in his hands, he smiles against them where she can't see. )
The only thing that needs fixing is you.
no subject
A-Akito-kun! Yes, um, the SCs aren't built to be... insulating.
[Totally taking his comment the best way possible and can he see how glad she is to see him, as inversely proportionate to how much he's not. Can he.]
Haaaah, I thought I was the only one here... But―why are you doing the laundry?
no subject
( okay, so that's not entirely the reason. it's about him wearing dirty clothes rather than being naked, but kururu doesn't need him to tell him that much. actually, she doesn't need to be here at all. she's wearing just a cape!
ugh. he really needs to fix that. what if ikki sees her like that? placing the pile of clothes onto the nearby table, he shuffles through some of ikki's clothes to pull out one of ikki's jackets and a pair of pants. )
Here.
( with a grimace, he thrusts the clothes at her. )
no subject
That is a thing Ikki-kun does, isn't it.]
Pretend I fixed the icon for the one below this too.

...Wait, is she picking through his clothes?! Ryou jut sort of stares at her as she comes over with the armful, totally bewildered. His voice is muffled behind the large scarf he's wearing.]
...Not...really.
no subject
[Her face falls at first, but what are all setbacks but temporary. Sorry about the weird girl accosting you with your own clothes, Ryou, she's not going away just yet.]
Um, in that case, c-can I p-promise to f-fix something for you i-if you ever need it?
[...It's getting harder to hear her over her chattering teeth.]
no subject
Maybe he should just offer her some of his laundry before she decides to just take it. He'd feel bad just leaving her like this anyway!]
...If you need something to wear, Miss, you can take some of mine. I don't mind.
no subject
Hahahahahaha! What the hell, are you trying to raid peoples' laundry?
[...huh, did Ryou put some stuff in to be washed? That coat looks familiar. How typical.]
no subject
[What a foward, incriminating, and absolutely accurate way of putting it. Kururu spins around so fast she nearly whips her giant cross into orbit, one arm still threaded through the sleeve of Ryou's coat. Her face is hot enough to thaw the whole building.]
No, no, I'm sorry! I would've asked first but nobody's around and I'm in a, a big hurry—I promise I'm not a thief!
no subject
That's my coat. I need that.
[Jeez, girl, haven't you noticed how cold it is? Clearly he needs it more than you, with your lack of clothing!]
no subject
And when the lights all go out, Luke can be found roaming the halls with lights hanging off him like a Christmas tree. And he looks nervous, holding one high powered flashlight and prodding every which direction. If he hears someone coming, he's likely to shine it right on their face. Sorry if he blinds you!]
