Who knew tech gave dragons stomach problems?

[So, those in one of the halls are being treated to a sight. Karasu, in annoyance and frustration, crushed half a wall and ate an intercom.

And it's given her a stomachache. So this particular hallway is now being completely blocked by a dragon who only just barely fits, and even then very precariously, as she's already wrecked one foundation and her mere presence has dented the ceiling and other walls.

Alternatively, a bit later on, Karasu in her human form can be found in the arcade, still with somewhat of a stomachache and sitting at one of the machines in a high-legged chair she stole found somewhere.]

Synchro...?

[Now that was interesting. Very interesting. As a duelist, he can't ignore this.]

Have you tried just putting them on the duel disk and seeing if it can figure them out?

[The Gods worked just fine without Kaiba having known their existence before...]
memorypuzzle: (And just what do you plan to do?)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, hold on.

[Activating the duel disk, he watches as the holographic projectors detach, the disk itself clicking into the ready position.]

Let's give it a try.
memorypuzzle: (Uhm... well maybe?)

[He takes it from her, fanning it out in his hand to scan through for the relevant cards. There's an odd feeling to these cards... Like they're aware of him. Drawing the first Synchro card he finds there, he sets it in play. Nothing happens, but after skimming through it, he notices the requirements.

It takes a little experimenting to figure out, but eventually-]

Ah-!

[-The monster appears.]
memorypuzzle: (Gotta be kidding me...)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
This isn't the first card that the duel disks were able to recognize without their programmer's being aware of them. The chips inside the cards carry enough data that I was able to replicate their summoning method with a little practice.

This requirement... The Tuners and normal monsters. They're sacrifices, but they have to total the same level as the card you're trying to summon. Like a ritual summon, but with specific types of sacrifices required.
memorypuzzle: (And... what?)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
I've never seen cards like this before... Even the levels are wrong.

[Are these even really Duel Monsters? No, they have to be. Now let's see... hm? The sacrifice requirement... it's the same as the level. Interesting. But it just says 'monster', so maybe, if he tries it out... Aha! But it takes a bit more fiddling before he can summon it.]

...It's a level-for-level sacrifice. The only things that can be sacrificed to summon it are those that are the same level. But this is odd... the cards used for the sacrifice apparently go beneath the summon instead of going to the graveyard. The graveyard won't accept them and it won't summon it without them being scanned as being in the same zone.
memorypuzzle: (Keep talking...)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
...then the detach requirement means the effects are activated by removing the sacrificed cards to the graveyard.

[He nods firmly.]

As I thought... The duel disks are programmed so they don't need updating, as long as you know what to do to activate them.

[Clever, Kaiba...]

Getting to try these cards is enough of a reward for me!

[After all of the chaos of Battle City, it was a breath of fresh air to just get to mess around with cards. De-summoning them, he shuts off the duel disk and hands her cards back to her.]
memorypuzzle: (Keep talking...)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course.

[He offers his hand to her without hesitation.]
memorypuzzle: (Uhm... well maybe?)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[For such a diminutive figure, he has a surprising amount of strength in his grip; it's not difficult for him to tug her up.]

Do you need help getting back to your room or the infirmary?

memorypuzzle: (Seriously...?)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a little awkward, with his stature, but that's fine. He'd rather not leave a sick woman to her own devices.]

At the least, she might have some medicine that might ease your suffering.
memorypuzzle: (Don't make me wag my finger.)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no need for that. While I hope you'll be smart enough not to eat any more intercoms, what's done is done. I don't mind helping.
memorypuzzle: (Yugi...)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
But, Karasu... You don't need to be in that form when you get angry, do you?
memorypuzzle: (I'll handle it...)

[personal profile] memorypuzzle 2014-02-02 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a poor excuse, and he can tell she knows it from the sigh she gives. So he won't drive the nail in further.]

I wonder what her goals are. It doesn't seem like she's doing much beyond annoying people.
