CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED
[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]
Tja ... det här kommer att lägga sordin på våra studier, är nu inte det?
[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]
((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.
For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P
If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.
If you have any questions, just head to the mod plurk or send this account a PM, but most importantly--have fun!))

Haha... Ya'll are gonna make me blush if you keep saying things like that.

[After another moment, Vio moves to lace his arm behind Shadow, patting the other's shoulder lightly.]
Now, if we could just figure out a way to stop actual light from harming you, we'd be set.
no subject
That ain't really possible... With the Dark Mirror, I could at least resist it, but without it, it's pretty hard to face it down.
no subject
[Speaking of which, they should get back to that.]
no subject
Huh... the floor in this room is really weird. Like it's made of something shiny.
[Crouching down, he runs his hand over the bathroom floor.]
It's cold, too.
no subject
Marble, maybe? Or something like that? It would be shiny, if there was light on it, but strange that it's cold when everything else isn't.
no subject
[Well, it doesn't really matter all that much, so he ventures further in. What's with this metal thing on top of the basin? Turning it reveals-]
Water-?!
[Not that things like that are impossible, but having access to water indoors... isn't that really expensive and rare? Outside a temple, it's pretty much unheard of. Even Zelda's castle didn't have something like that.]
no subject
Curiously, he looks over the running water, then up to the metal things. So is this what Shadow messed with...?
He reaches up, grabbing one and turning it. Rather than shutting off the flow, like he'd expected, it instead seems to almost double it... with an interesting addition that he notices after a moment, cautiously putting his hand under the stream.]
...This is warm, and getting warmer.
no subject
What's with this place?! It's cool and all, but can anything make sense?!
no subject
Okay. Just take a moment to sift through everything they've found.]
Lights everywhere, that are either some sort of controlled fire, enchantment, or a new fairy, but are controlled by a simple switch. The building is made of some sort of material that's nowhere near the stone I've seen -- floor, walls, and I would assume ceiling too. There's no draft or wind. There's a controlled waterfall in here that's not only incredibly tiny, but is somehow heated as well -- even moreso than the heat this entire place is holding somehow. There's a room for meals and enough rooms and beds that it suggests this is intended to live in. There are traps in what seems to be rooms for people to sleep in. And the fabric around is in some strange spot between commoner and noble.
[He tries to think. He tries the hardest he can to put this together, to understand, to get something about this place. But after what feels like far too long of quietness stretching into frustrated silence, he brings his hand against his face, rubbing it hard and giving a noise that sounds half-strangled.]
I have no idea.
no subject
...could it be a prison?
no subject
This is way too ornate and free for a prison. Maybe for a royal, or someone of very high blood, but if that was the case, it wouldn't nearly be as large. It's as if this place expects to hold enough for an army.
no subject
...huh.
[He has to try it now. So if he turns them both the same way, the water flow turns off? That's so weird! But...]
...
In a place like this, I'd never need to go outside again.
no subject
But he understands immediately what Shadow's getting at.]
Not unless you chose to or I needed your help, and in that case, it can wait until night. I didn't explore the forest very thoroughly yet, but there's nothing really notable here.
There's not even a dock.
no subject
[Then that settles it... at least for now, he's claiming this group of rooms for himself! Vio can stay too. But this place is officially his now!]
What was in the other door?
no subject
[He sighs a little, suddenly wishing this place had teleported a book with him or something. Geeze.]
It was the bedroom. There's four beds, two on top of the others, but it almost looks untouched. This might be an empty room, which would explain why it was unlocked as well.
no subject
[He heads into the bedroom, looking it over before climbing up onto the top bunk of one of the beds.]
Hey, Vio! It's the same here. This bed's too soft to be a commoner's, but nowhere near nice enough for a royal. But no soldier'd sleep on a bed like this. It's too comfortable; it'd be too easy to relax.
Wonder who this place was meant for?
no subject
Definitely an empty room.
[That done, he walks over to the beds, making a thoughtful noise as he places his hand on the bottom one, then sits on it just to be sure. So this place was far too nice for commoners, not nice enough for royals, but had a bunch of stuff that was unheard of outside of Temples, on top of stuff that was just plain unheard of?
...Wait a moment.]
...
[Too nice for commoners. Not nice enough for royals. Filled with stuff that would probably only ever be in Temples, and stuff that he'd never seen.]
Could it be... this was meant for heroes?
no subject
You think so? It does make sense, if you look at it like that! But you said there were other people here, right? Can they really be all heroes?
no subject
[But so many people? It's like if every hero from generations was... here...
Violet's face suddenly darkens some, and he seems to stare into space for a moment in deep thought, not responding at all as if he's just mentally checked out. The idea... it fits. It could explain everything.
Finally, he blinks, looking up to Shadow with an expression that's somewhat conflicted.]
I think we might be in the afterlife.
[On the one hand, being dead isn't exactly a pleasant thought. But... on the other hand, he and Shadow had already "died." Their consciousness had disappeared, been refused back into the real Link.
In all honesty, being a spirit in a rather pleasant afterlife was definitely better than just ceasing to exist. But then what did that mean for Link himself? Or Red, Green, and Blue...?]
no subject
Afterlife?
[Shouldn't he have just disappeared? At most, returned to the world of darkness, at most likely, dissolved into light. Could there be an afterlife for shadows? He frowns, mulling it over for a moment and just hanging there. Now it's his turn to check out mentally.
Afterlife... Vio... Luxuries... No Red, Green, or Blue... Hm...
Blink Blink.]
Then we should have some fun!
no subject
[If that's the case, then where are the other three? And for that matter, why is everyone speaking different languages?
...Not even just that. If this IS the afterlife, then nothing here should be painful. So why was Shadow still hurt by light?
He's just about to explain this, in fact, when Shadow speaks again, causing him to blink a little instead. Well... he can explain in a minute.]
Like what?
no subject
Ya'll can't figure it out? We didn't get to celebrate our victory or anything, so we should find some food and drink and have a celebration!
no subject
Oh hell with it, he can't argue with that. And at least a small victory party would be nice to relax some and help get his thoughts in order.]
All right. Let's go find what we need and celebrate.
