CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED
[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]
Tja ... det här kommer att lägga sordin på våra studier, är nu inte det?
[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]
((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.
For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P
If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.
If you have any questions, just head to the mod plurk or send this account a PM, but most importantly--have fun!))

Sure, that sounds like a plan. At worst, I can just distract the Thief King with something else.

[As long as he doesn't do anything dumb.]

[Nrrg. Munchmunchmunch.]

[...yeah, he's wolfing this cake down.]

[And really, come on, what are the odds of that?]

...I wonder if this is a "test."

[He rests his hand on the Ring.]
I don't think that'd be such a good idea. 'He'd learn it too after all.

You really don't know him all that well, do you?
[The spirit will kill him for this, but while he can, he'll say what he can. Setting his spoon down, he fixes her with a serious look.]
I know you're close with him, but Bakura... he's a really bad person. Even if Kai would run the risk, which I doubt, that's still giving power to an evil spirit.
no subject
...What do you mean? He's gone to so much trouble for me, even if he is a dark spirit, how is that "evil"?

Ever since I got the Ring, he's never left me alone. When I was younger, he used to have more of a trick to play on people. He'd take the people I liked, and he'd take their souls and seal them into my figures. I thought for a long time that I was cursed, because everyone I tried to befriend ended up in a coma. No matter where I went, it kept happening, until I was no longer willing to risk befriending anyone.
When I came to Domino... that stopped. But only because he met the person he was hunting down there. One of my best friends. They stopped him, but they couldn't get rid of him. Even if he stopped messing with souls, he was still... up to things.
[He rests his hand against his arm.]
I don't remember much of the last year or so before I came here. 'He' was out too much for it. I got used to not waking up for long times and for a while I thought... I wouldn't wake up at all. I remember a few things, a lot of blackness, and waking up injured in front of a dragon god that nearly killed me at one point. And being carried to the hospital on Honda-kun's back. But that's it.
If one of my friends hadn't bribed him here... he'd probably never let me out at all.

It can't be. It really can't be true. Bakura-kun, who was always so kind. Bakura-kun, who had rescued her, helped her, done so much for her, there was no way he could be anything like that at all. Even if...
Even if she knows... he's a dark spirit. Even if she could sense that from him, sense something that... that was a darkness she didn't like, that put her very nature on edge. It couldn't. Couldn't.
couldn't couldn't couldn't couldn't couldn't couldn't
Karasu stands up so suddenly that she knocks the chair aside, shaking her head hard. For the first time since coming here, her very heart and soul are at odds again. The light part of her, the part that's seeped in ancient magic, feels outraged and angry, knowing that Ryou's truthful, and that it would fit far more with the feeling that Bakura had given. The human part of her, the part that's grown up so unwanted and lonely, is terrified, wanting to deny it and push it aside and forget so that things can stay as they are.
Even if she knows there's other evidence. Even if that explains the way Kai acted around him. Even if...
She shakes her head again, hard, clapping her hands to her ears and so torn between the two extremes that it almost seems like she's suddenly lost all concept of what's around her, as if the entire world just dissolved.
Deep inside of her, the manifestation of her soul has suddenly turned on the shard Bakura left, claws and teeth and tail keeping it firmly down. It's only the conflict that saves Bakura from a lot of pain... because it's very clear it would be eating the shard otherwise.]

[Ryou flinches back at the suddenness, worry flooding him. Even as he does, he can tell Bakura knows. Even with the language barrier, Ryou's emotions and Karasu's reactions are enough of a clue. Letting Ryou out in this state has had the effect he wanted least and most expected. Traitor, the voice hisses inside of his head, and though he can't understand it, Ryou knows the meaning. He's in trouble.
Inside of Karasu, the soul fragment stares up at the dragon with an eerily calm smile.]

[Just what? She doesn't know. She feels like she's going to be sick or just crumple, but her body doesn't seem to want to do either, as if to further torment her.
She doesn't know. She doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know what to think. Everything is spinning and breaking and she doesn't even know if she wants to catch the pieces or not.
Inside of her, the dragon only bares its teeth at the smile, before wrapping itself firmly around the shard, this time in a way that's more like a jailer holding down a prisoner than a pet resting with its master.
...No. She knows what she wants to do, at least. It's almost instinctual, but right now, she doesn't care.
Karasu whirls around and sprints for the door, wanting nothing more now than to just get out.]

[Despite his surprise, Ryou doesn't try to stop her. The poor girl needs to be alone... she's had a bit of a shock.
Instead, he neatly washes, dries and stacks their plates and wraps up the rest of the cake, putting it away. That done, he writes her a note in neat Japanese.
Leaving it on the table, he leaves her dormitory, feeling out of place there.
My, my, how the tables have turned... the soul shard muses, closing its eyes and relaxing. He's too calm even now. Even being held prisoner isn't enough to antagonize him. Eat him or crush him or leave him alone... he doesn't care.]
